Doctor Video is the best electronic repair store I have ever been to. Their very nice people, patient, and flexible. The things I do not like about them is they take way too long to get repairs done. I understand because they are a small business and they have health problems. Another thing I do not like about them is that they are very bad in responding to emails. Overall, Doctor Video is a great electronic repair store.

Once upon a time...My poor little desktop computer needed fixin and Doctor Video was the nearest repair store so I thought, "Why not? Should be a simple fix."So I walk into this "shop" where I was greeted with a most pungent and piercing odor of cat urine. (Should've been my first red flag.) As I looked around, I witnessed a disorderly television and monitor graveyard taking up the majority of the room. (Flag number second.) The whole interior was ancient and reminds me of a few decrepit trailer parks I've had the pleasure to know. (Third flag.) But hey, maybe if they do good work, we can chalk it up to 'charm'.Nay nay I say!The man behind the counter told me that he would look at it and said, "Give me a call on Monday. It should be ready by then." That struck me as odd. Don't I usually get a call from YOU when it's done? Usually that's how businesses are run. Usually.Monday came and went - I was busy and thought, "If it's ready he'll call." Same thing on Tuesday-not a word from the Doctor. So I finally call on Wednesday and I'm told that he had family visiting over the weekend and didn't get to look at it so he'll have it ready next Monday. No problem says I. Not a big deal says I. He's a professional. He knows what he's doing. (Cue the foreboding music)Next Monday I didn't receive a call so I called him on Tuesday. Well THIS weekend he wasn't able to look at it because, and this was seriously it, he cut his finger. Now, I know that I've had terrible cuts and wounds in the past and know they can be bad. However, I stopped by in person a few days later to see a small bandage on the finger in question. Hmmmm. This is a computer repair, not brain surgery!This. Went. On. For. Weeks! Seriously! Months started ticking by and he finally "looked" at it and said that it needed some extra parts. "By all means, fix the computer." I just want my computer to come back home and fill the void in my life again.A month goes by and not a word from the Doctor. So, I call him again and he says that it's going to need some extra parts. Wait...Seriously? We already had this conversation. Please buy the parts and fix it! (That was actually what happened!) *face palm*More time passes, and I thought I would contact the good Doctor again. It had been a while since we last spoke and maybe this fine business establishment had got their act together. Maybe.So I put on my big boy pants, grab the drop-off receipt and drive to this place to have a one-on-one, a face-to-face, and talk man-to-doctor. *He's not really a doctor.After being greeted with the same fine feline aroma, I spoke to the doc and he said, "I should be able to get to it this week...buuut the presidential debates are on." Ludicrous! He's had my computer forever and every time I've called there is another lame excuse for why he hasn’t worked on it.So I asked him, "Would it be better if I just took my computer back, paid you for your work, and went somewhere else?" To this I got a very brief, snarky smile and was told, “You can if you want.”Well, I wanted. However, I wanted my little desktop fixed even more so I begged him to finish the job.Two more weeks go by and (as the story goes) not a word from Mr. Video. (I have since stripped him of his ‘Doctor’ title.) So, I call him up and he tells me that he’s going to need to get some parts to fix it. (Remember those two previous identical conversations?) No joke. This was like Groundhog Day.I FINALLY decided to go somewhere else and have them do what Mr. Vid could never do. I called and told him that I would be by to pick it up in 15 minutes and, wouldn’t you know it, for the first time he became pleasant, helpful, and responsive.I then took it to Brambleton Computer in Roanoke and received the BEST service I’ve ever had! The technician called me, knew what he was looking at, knew what parts to order, and gave me a quote before I even got home! *I have sinc

This is a little mom and pop place, but it's the only place I'll go for computer repair. If I had to old family videos, I would bring them here as well. They treat whoever walks through that door as family.

Great service. I couldn't find any other computer/monitor repair shops that do board level repair. They fixed the inverters in both of my monitors and the seem to work great! Thanks

Has had my TV to repair for about a year and a half, and every time we call there’s a different excuse for it not being finished. My husband has even made several trips to the store and also received a different excuse every time. We finally just gave up and had to purchase a new TV. Very unprofessional.

Super helpful staff. I have went to them a few times for a couple electronics fixes. They are great at their jobs and are very friendly to boot.
