The place is a great stay for the area, not too far from mainstreet local restaurants and scenic walks. The room was surprisingly revamped to a modern style stay. It was a good scenic bike ride to the beach. Literally about 15 minutes., crossing into the state park.

A cute, old-fashioned motel, like the ones I'm used to in NJ shoes towns. Everything was outdated but maintained and kept clean. Staff was helpful and kind.

Giving grace for probably being understaffed , there was only 1 person working the hotel during our stay. While it was only 1 night , I can say that we will not be back.We requested an early check in which I understand cannot always be accommodated, they were not able to make that happen and we arrived just before 3pm to check in. The lady advised that the room was ready and took care of the check in process. She was very kind and knowledgeable, however the room I was given the door did not lock and the tub had obviously not been cleaned. She quickly transferred us to another room. I checked the lock and all was well until later on when I went to take a shower. This shower had also not been cleaned. I cleaned it and the floor myself. The AC kept the room comfortable, however the dust on the AC unit was a little excessive. The sheets seemed to be fresh and was doable for 1 nights stay. The enclosed patio was a nice touch and the outdoor pool although we did not use it seemed clean. There is limited parking , certainly not a place to stay if you are traveling in multiple cars unless you are occupying multiple rooms. It’s definitely outdated but some regular maintenance is certainly lacking.Disappointed as I have always wondered about this place and there were recent reviews saying it was outdated but clean. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

Great location near the waterfront. Quiet and clean rooms. Nicely decorated. I could walk almost everywhere. Sidewalks on both sides of the street, so very safe. Walked to Farmers marker, thrift store, coffee shop, waterfront park, and many more.

The innkeepers are so attentive! This is an older inn, definitely retaining an air of the mid-1900s, modernization does include AC and WiFi. Family favorite amenities include a screened gazebo/porch equipped with a grill and fish cleaning table/sink. It’s first come, first served but it makes the evenings so nice to sit outside. The pool is also vintage; a concrete formed pool with two built in hot tubs and blue ceramic tiling as trim. It’s well kept and clean.

Eddie and Erica who run The Lighthouse Inn are extremely friendly. It's a quiet cozy Inn. Grill on sight, pool, area for dogs to do their business and in distance of everything. The beds and pillows are amazing. You can park right in front of your room. Affordable and clean.

We stayed only one night, but our impression of the inn was good. Nice room, clean and it had even a coffee machine, and a fridge. Perfect for families who want to stop for a short time.

Needs total makeover. Room was nothing like those pictured. Furniture looked purchased from goodwill- didn’t match, beat-up and dated. It was obvious the owners were attempting to cover old orders. Felt like an hourly rate establishment.

We had never been to Chincoteague before and wanted just a little grab of beach when we thought the pandemic was ending. Hahaha. Oh remember those days? Anyway we were looking for a place to stay where we could have our older dog with us. He's a nervous guy and unexpected noise (thunder, loud noises, the mailman, dropping my phone from the couch) make him anxious so I was a little worried but it was so quiet! The owners also kindly put us on the first floor (which was also great for me because I've been having some knee/ankle issues) so I really appreciated that. Were there some issues? Sure. The bathroom could use a few more towel hooks, and it's a little musty, but it's also august at the shore after like a week of rain so I'm not holding that against them. The rooms were basic but fine. The location was great. The pool was actually nice and you will get waved at from the people walking by on the sidewalk but they're just jealous you're in a pool and they're not. We didn't use the screened in patio but it looked really nice and gave the entire place a friendly vibe. Plus if you wanted to grill while it was raining you could! Anyway, I thought it was nice. The people that run the motel seem cool and they're doing a fine job.

One thing I realized on Chincoteague is there are a lot of Inns. The Lighthouse Inn is a quaint Inn with a screened in outdoors area that is nice too. It's a great place to sleep after touring each day. The beds are comfy. I've got torn discs in my lower back and I slept great on the bed! They are double beds however. Though some rooms may have queens. Erica, the manager or owner is great. She's second to none when it comes to guest service. She's available all around the clock, even though the hours are until 9pm. I highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for just a 2-3 night stay somewhere. The price is good too!

The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The location is great. We were close to the waterfront park, farmer's market, restaurants, grocery store, and shops. There were sidewalks on both sides of the street on both main street and the side streets. I felt very safe walking my dog at any time day or night. My stay was for 8 nights and throughout the stay the other guests were quiet and pleasant. The screened in area was really nice with tables and a gas grill. The owner keeps the grounds in great condition. I would recommend and will stay again on my next trip to Chincoteague Island.

If you are traveling with your dog do not expect to have a room in the building noted in the online advertisement. We were housed in small, outdated, depressing room across the street. The midweek room rate was $283.00 plus a pet fee of $50.00. Exorbitant for a dump! We had a family emergency or we would never have bothered.

Lighthouse Inn is an older property that badly needs redecoration. Our room lacked a closet, a freezer in the mini-frig, and had only one light, which meant that reading or playing games was almost impossible once the sun went down. However, it allows dogs, has very nice grounds, and is very well-located, near stores, restaurants, and the Chesapeake Bay.

the rooms are definitely old; however, the way the rooms have been decorated is great. we like the furnitures turned rustic style. paintings, mirrors, etc. decorative pieces painted gold AND matches the door! incredibly brave, but it worked. the innkeepers are the most friendly and knew the island pretty well. we will definitely stay here in the future.

In order to save our family trip, we needed 3 rooms last minute due to the hurricane causing an evacuation at our rental in NC. Sue could not have been more accommodating and nice! We arrived to a clean room that had plenty of space and our dog was excited to be welcomed as well. The outside screened in area was great for our family to hang out in during the evenings. We also brought food in and ate there at times (tables, chairs, grill w/ utensils, sanitizing supplies). Sure, the property is dated, but I was extremely impressed with everything else that it didn't bother me. Would recommend to anyone but especially those looking for a pet friendly hotel in Chincoteague!
