Was very happy with what we got for the price.

Not fancy. But, extremely clean, reasonably comfortable. Friendly staff. Pool appears odd in the middle of the parking lot, but we found it to be well maintained and enjoyed it.

Our family has come to Chincoteaque for over 30 years. This motel was never the nicest, but we continued for nostalgia. Unfortunately, this property has had new ownership for two years. This was our first time returning since COVID and we were so disappointed that we will never return. It was so bad that the owners effectively ended a 30+ year tradition.
Owner literally YELLED at me and LIED about servicing the three rooms we rented. I have never been treated so poorly by a hotelier in my life. They treat customers like criminals. I paid $2,500 for three rooms and was shocked at how awful we were treated.
Front desk man SHEWED me out of the office when I asked for towels and room serviced.
Insinuated that our family was the issue, even though we have come for 30+ years with the previous owners and NEVER had any problem. Previous owners always treated guests with dignity and respect, in my opinion.
Now, the rooms are full of flies, they refuse to service rooms, charge double the amount than what was previously charged, and treat customers like dirt.
While the owner offered to refund us for our final night and let us check out earlier, that missed the point. Dont yell at customers. Service rooms and treat people with dignity and respect.
We will never return, unless the hotel becomes under new management and will happily pay more to stay somewhere where we are welcomed. If a new owner takes over at some point, please reach out. Until then, I hope others avoid this place and let the owner know the power of word of mouth and importance of treating guests well.

For many years, my family and I stayed at this hotel on a yearly basis. It was never the nicest hotel, but it was nostalgic and we loved the tradition. I think it may have been for over 30 years. Unfortunately, the hotel is now under new management for the last two years or so. This was our first time returning in roughly four years, due to COVID. Words can not express how truly disappointed we are. For two days, no one cleaned our three rooms, even though I explicitly asked on the second day. When we asked for extra towels, the front desk woman treated my children and I as if we were criminals. DEMANDING the towels returned before she would give us new ones. It is very sad to see this type of service ruin what was once a tradition in our family. Hotel was nearly empty, so you would think they would value the patrons who are present and treat them decently. I wish the old owners were still here.

For the price you pay it works. It's close to many things and convenient. We had a queen double room which was a perfect size for me and my daughter. The bathroom was pretty small even for us who are not big people by any means. It was clean enough and was asked every day if we needed anything. Staff was friendly and had to tell them that the tub faucet in my room never fully turned off. Joe at the desk was helpful.
Unfortunately, because of the price there were families there with multiple kids and some never learned from the parents respect and common courtesy. We were on the second of three floors and the kid above us bounced a ball early in the morning for a while and the ones next to us just talked and laughed late at night. They let them run up and down both balconies a lot and were loud. I'm not used to that because my daughter has been traveling with me since she was a toddler and I taught her respect for others and how to act so I never had to worry about it (I realize I am blessed for that). I'd still recommend for people who are not looking to spend a lot of money on a room you don't spend too much time in anyway. We had a blast on the island and would definitely go back when the bugs are not atrocious, like fall maybe.

Location is great, right in middle of Chincoteague.
Nothing wrong with service with my stay.
Rooms are to be expected with a 2 star hotel. Simple ammenities and clean. The mini fridge has very audible hum and the A/C fan is quite loud - I personally had no trouble sleeping, but be warned.

I wish I could write a better review, but my stay was soured due to management. As I was getting ready for check out (11am) the manager came into my room after I asked them to wait a moment as I was still getting ready (10:45am). They opened my door any way stating I was late. They had the time wrong. I was very disgusted that the manager continued to make excuses for just blatantly opening my door after stating I needed a moment and I was coming. This man continued to state “he wasn’t looking” and other excuses. As a solo female traveler I am disgusted. Do better. I will not be coming back and I will make sure I advise others to stay away.

Called this hotel today to cancel my reservation, due to my 81 year old father being hospitalized with a scheduled surgery in a few days. I was told that since I hadn’t given 72 hours notice that I’d still be charged for the first night. Seriously, it’s a holiday weekend and you are sitting right in the middle of Chincoteague Island, I’m sure someone will book a room and more than make up for the money you’ll not get from me, absolutely pathetic!!

My husband and I decided on a getaway for four days. So we chose to stay here being it wasn’t a full week stay. I actually liked it here. We were close to everything. The only down fall was the sofa was really old and scary to sit on, the toilet didn’t have a powerful flush to flush and the freezer didn’t work. Other than that our stay here was fine. The staff was fine as well. They checked on us daily. They even gave me a temp key because I misplaced one of my keys from my room to the pool. (I found my key I thought I lost in my dress pocket ?) So I have no complaints on the staff. For a short stay I would stay here again. For an extended stay I want to stay on the waterfront.

I recently stayed here for an extended weekend and this has to be one of the best value places to stay in these East Coast beach towns. The room was newly renovated, perfect location right on the main drag, very kind staff, and an overall great experience. You really can’t beat this value at this price. If this hotel was in OCMD, I’d expect prices to be well over $200+ per night.

Do not stay here! Our room was dirty, looked like the bed had been slept in. The sheets were not changed. The tub had dirt in it. The door barely shut and it didn't even have a safety chain. The hotel needs a ton of maintenance and cleaning. The manager was so rude, he wouldn't listen to us. He talked over us. He wouldn't issue a refund. In talking to the locals, they agreed you should never stay here.
