An absolutely wonderful school! I started as a military spouse and heard of Goddard’s reputation. Unfortunately we were in the area for 6 months and then sent to another location. My daughter learned sign language, we received daily emails with picture of the kids and I have never seen such dedication anywhere else’s. We have decided to make Virginia our home and I could not be more thankful for the entire staff. Thank you for all of your hard work and building self confidence in their ability in

Best day care and quality pre school education I’ve ever encountered. The teachers are caring and the staff work with the parents to ensure the children succeed regardless of where they are in their learning journey . The owner is personable and invested in the experiences of the parents and children . I’ve experienced several other child care centers and none compare to this one . I feel very fortunate to have my pre schoolers here and continue to tell others how pleased my husband and I are with their growth and progress both academically and socially.

We have utilized both the daycare and the before/after school care thus far and we've been over the moon-happy about our experience! We have three children and we have consistently experienced engaged and professional teaching staff, friendly and responsive office staff, and strong growth in our children's educational and social/emotional development. The facilities are clean without that cold and sterile feeling - children's art and photos decorate the walls! Our children are always excited and happy and they are known by name by everyone in the school, not just their specific teachers! We have been so pleased and highly recommend to everyone we know!

My daughter attended the Goddard School of Chester (Rivers Bend) for almost two years. We ended up transferring Goddard School locations due to moving out of the area, although I cannot stress enough how amazing this school is. Stephen (the owner) is AMAZING. He knows every parent and child by name, is very personable, and makes certain the families are always taken care. He goes ABOVE AND BEYOND for the students/parents that attend this school. Ms. Doreen (lead teacher) was our favorite teacher in the school, although they are all awesome. Ms. Doreen is always so upbeat, positive, and lively. She makes sure all the kids feel comfortable in her class. The front desk staff always ensures to welcome the parents into the building with the most sincere greeting. They make sure to always smile and stay positive, no matter what's going on. I would highly recommend this school and if it wasn't for my family moving, we would still be there. 10/10 recommend!!! (Thank you for everything Stephen, we are going to miss you) :)

Our kids have been attending this Goddard since 2018 and we only have great things to say about the school, staff, and leadership. My oldest has tested into the CBG program in Chesterfield County and I have no doubt that some of that can be credited to his development at Goddard. My youngest is thriving at this Goddard and preparing to enter their private kindergarten program at the age of 4 and is actually ready for it - this is most definitely attributed to his 3+ years at this Goddard School. I would highly recommend RB Goddard School to anyone who wants quality childcare and developmental growth for their kids. We love Goddard and are dreading the day that are kids are grown and have to say "goodbye!"

We feel very fortunate that our daughter has been able to attend Goddard School (Chester, River's Bend) for the past two years. She started in the pretoddler classroom and has since moved up levels to a preschool class. Our daughter's language, social, and motor skills have taken off since starting at Goddard, and it is such a joy to hear from her about her day and see what art projects she comes home with. The teachers and staff are excellent, and have been so helpful when working through challenges (e.g., feeling nervous about transitioning to a new classroom). Our daughter enjoys school so much she honestly seems bored when she's just at home with mom and dad on the weekend! The summer program is extra special, with puppet and music shows (and more). This location makes working with the military's Child Care Aware program an absolute breeze. An added bonus is that Goddard has stayed open/staffed throughout COVID, in contrast with the nearby Child Development Center at Fort Lee. Thank you to the teachers and staff at Goddard School - you are all amazing!

We absolutely love Goddard, our kids have been there for 3 years and we have experienced 5 classrooms and the school age care while there. We only left because the military made us move to North Carolina, but our youngest 2 will return in a few years for before and after school when my husband retires. We have been in NC for 6 weeks and our 4yr old continues to ask when he can go back to his Otters class. This school saved my job as a healthcare provider, and sanity during the pandemic accommodating us when my then 2yr old wasn't fully enrolled due to still attending a military daycare that was closed. When we realized the closure would extend more than a month we had no issues enrolling him at Goddard full-time. They have been amazing with all 3 of our kids! All the teachers know all of the kids by name not just their classroom which is comforting, there is always a smiling face at the front desk. The educational curriculum is amazing as well. My 4yr old was pulled up to pre-K a early (He has a late Nov birthday) because the younger classes prepared him so well and he would have started kinder at Goddard this year if we didn't move. I have no fears about his kinder readiness when he does get to start in 2023 in NC. We have experienced 7 daycares throughout our military career and this is the most impressive with school readiness. There is still plenty of play and fun throughout the day capitalizing on the learning through play model. The teachers are great at letting you know what is going on in the classroom and with your individual child. They do not hesitate to call you if needed during the day or talk during pick-up or drop-off. I'm struggling to find daycare in our new area, not only because of waitlists, but honestly because none compare to what we left at Goddard.

Excellent place with outstanding teachers who provide caring, safe, and warm environment for children. I definitely recommend this place without any hesitation and hope this place will continue to grow and expand. I am so happy my son was able to go here but unfortunately I will be leaving soon and am upset that he cannot go here any longer. Thank you for accepting us into Goddard School and best wishes to all who work there and make this school a magic place.

My boys started Goddard in May. We moved from Washington state where they were previously in military child care centers and were very worried about the transition for them. From day one the staff at Goddard has taken so much care with our guys and are truly compassionate to military families and what our kids go thru. If you are looking for a compassionate loving team of caregivers this is the school for you. I will not put them back in a military on post daycare if I can avoid it. My oldest is not an easy child, Goddard doesn't label him bad. They work with him and help him thru his rough days, instead of calling me everyday and complaining about my child. And the staff is amazing with them, they can get them to do things that they will it do for me. There is no crying when I take them in, they are excited to go play and learn. My.23.5 month old is singing parts of the ABC and loves going to play.

Our family absolutely loves the Goddard School at River’s Bend! Our daughter participated in their Summer Camp this past summer and absolutely had a blast. The weekly activities and field trips offered her a chance to have fun, make new friends, and learn throughout the break. She is already asking about participating in the camp this coming summer! Our son started attending the Goddard in July. We were nervous about moving him to a new daycare since he had only ever been to one daycare. What a pleasant surprise it was to see him quickly adapt and become part of the Goddard family! The care for students and passion for education that his teachers, Ms. Monica and Ms. Meg, display is wonderful. He is learning and growing each day. It’s so exciting to hear him tell us what he learned in school that day, whether it is something new in Spanish, Sign Language, or even a new yoga pose! Each month, his teachers provide an overview of the lessons they will be covering. That makes it so easy to re-enforce the specific letters, numbers, colors, shape, etc. with him at home. The owner Stephen and his staff are excellent as well. Our family has felt welcomed at the Goddard since our first meeting. My husband and I comment to each other on a weekly basis about how much we love this school!

I would not recommend this school. At first, the owner seemed so supportive and interested in us bringing our child here. We even took a tour with his secretary. We then meet with the owner in person and told us all the great things we wanted to hear! After a while I called back for a couple of things to finalize our decision and he told me so many weird and negative things on why our child should not go to his school. He literally told me, his own words “You would be making a mistake bringing him here”. He also proceed to tell me how public school is so much better for him and that they would put more attention to him then his school would. That his school was not good for for him? Like how do you get all this out of meeting a child once? Thank God that conversation took place bc I would NOT want my child to go to a school where the owner things like that. There was more to the conversation, we talked twice within a period of an hour. I was shocked and confused. Im sure there is a main reason he did not want my child going there, but he did not bothered to tell me.
