I would recommend not working here. The director Mrs Dunlap was not very friendly when I first started working here she made me feel like she was gossiping about me. They do not care about their staff. The staff here are treated like they are replaceable at any second. They force the staff to work around kids that are contagious with sickness and they barely satirize unclean toys. I would highly recommend not working here or being involved with this place.

We moved to Virginia from another state and didn't know anyone, we found Primrose and they truly became our family. We knew dropping our kids off they were safe, loved, having fun and learning. We have experience with every class except their private Kindergarten program and our kids loved every single class they were in. Every teacher was outstanding and the front office staff are always willing to help and listen if you need anything. We recently moved and had to leave Primrose and there were tears shed by many - which just goes to show how much the teachers care about the kids they teach. I would recommend Primrose at Ironbridge over and over again. Thank you for everything Primrose Family!

Our daughter has been attending Primrose on Ironbridge since she was 4 months old, and we couldn't be happier with the level of care that the staff provides. All of her teachers, the administrative staff, and all of the support staff are friendly, caring, and go out of their way to make sure that our daughter stays safe, loved, and encouraged to learn.

My two kids have been enrolled at primrose for over a year now and we could not be happier. My son started at age 18 months and my daughter is now 5, so we have been in almost every class they have to offer there (with the exception of the littlest ones) and are so pleased with the quality of care and loving staff. Of course my kids have had their favorites through their time there but all of the teachers truly care about the students and commit to helping them learn at every level. We feel the curriculum is age appropriate and love the daily or weekly updates about what they are learning and how we can reinforce that at home! (The pictures through the week are are an added bonus to bring a smile to this working moms face). Even the meals (yes all meals provided!!!) are nutritious and varied! My daughter has even requested some of Ms. Tyler’s meals at home! The front desk staff is so friendly and helpful with anything we ever need. We looked around at other daycares in the area but glad we landed with this one! Primrose feels like family!

Did not have a great experience at this location. The pandemic has really made it tough on both schools and parents but the thing I disliked most about my experience here is when a PRIMOSE STAFF MEMBER in the toddler class came up positive exposing all the toddlers to Covid-19. As a result the ENTIRE toddler class was closed for a FULL week. ALL parents were forced to continue to pay FULL tuition that entire week even though the toddler class was canceled. I understand a business needs to continue to pay their staff but it is truly unrealistic to expect parents to pay FULL tuition for a canceled class due to YOUR STAFF exposing our children. I, like many families was left to pay childcare twice. Very unhappy with how this management handled this situation, unenrolled my children because I personally didn’t feel like this facility care about the families coming to this school.

One star is too many. Absolutely the most unprofessional, biased, messy & overall trash place I’ve ever seen in the name of childcare. We chose this school because of the brand, which may have drawn you too-RUN!The first strike was black history month recognition (lack thereof I should say). When asked what was the school doing to honor BHM (mind you they had plans for Valentine’s, American Heart Month, Super Bowl, you name it) their response was “we don’t celebrate it because children don’t understand the concept of time, but we’re having a dress up day where everyone can wear red, yellow, & green.” HUH? as if the job of an educator isn’t to educate, yet symbolism is ok. I suggested an activity that would honor BHM, they sarcastically did the exact suggestion the next day (as a cover up) with nothing else to follow except their symbolism day of wearing colors that no one could explain the purpose behind. So, if building cultural competency in your child is important that won’t be happening here.Strike Two & Three: Unprofessional staff that is rude & inexperienced in appropriate family communication. We had a situation where they were “concerned” about our child’s nutrition. Rather than appropriately expressing those concerns we received comments such as “she must be in the 0 percentile, she needs more meat on her bones, we put water in her bottles to stretch them, etc.” Of course when a meeting was requested to address these comments & everything was being recorded, the teacher (Ms. Wadford in the infant class) lied & said she didn’t say any of that followed by the DIRECTOR (Ms. Dunlap-unprofessional, biased, rude) who also vouched for the lie when she wasn’t even present to begin with. I’m talking flat out called us as parents liars. The teacher actually walked out mid meeting & there was no resolution. Very professional right? This place does a great job of putting on a fake show. The director, Ms. Dunlap all the way down to the teachers in the infant room (Ms. Wadford) are unprofessional liars, & the poor assistant director spends most of her time trying to undo the foolishnesses caused by the staff.0/10 would not recommend. There’s way more that I could go on about, but hopefully this gives you an idea of where NOT to send your child for trusted quality childcare services. What would they benefit from?-Cultural competency training-Family communication training-Proper ethics when caring for children training (but no training can “train” you to be a decent human, & not lie-only integrity can do that)Surely the franchise owner will probably respond to this review to save face, don’t believe her either because she’s practically impossible to get in touch with.

Our daughter has been attending Primrose Ironbridge for almost three years now, and they have been nothing short of amazing in every way. On our initial visit, it was obvious how much the teachers and staff love and care for the children, and that made our decision to enroll easy. Every teacher and staff member along the way has had a positive and meaningful impact on our child, and for that we will always be forever grateful.

I feel like the owner of the franchise could be present as I saw her briefly twice in the almost 9 months I’ve been there. One of the assistant directors can do a much better job at communicating announcements with brief detailed content and timeliness. Management can do better all around and making decisions to close school early on due to exposures All the teachers are very caring and enthusiastic! Second daycare in 1.5 years I’ve left because of poor management visibility and involvement. Critical feedback is important and should be acknowledged and followed up from upper management to ensure the experience & services being provided maintain parental satisfaction and feedback should be advertised more to be welcomed!

I have thoroughly enjoyed having myChild go through the pre-school and kindergarten program with primrose at ironbridge. Staff is always helpful and informative. The teachers are always thoroughly involved and very communicative. The pandemic has definitely caused challenges but the school is adaptive and understanding of the conditions of the world around us. Any family would be fortunate to join the promise of ironbridge family.

My husband was stationed at Fort Lee for 4 months. We were so happy with the care we received at Primrose during our stay. The facility was so clean and the staff went over and above to make us feel comfortable leaving our daughter with them. We wish we could take them with us!!!! I highly recommend Primrose at Ironbridge Corner!!

My (g)daughter just started. She is a very excited 5 years old to attend school and I'll follow her lead if she likes her Oma will. My 1st impression is that the facility is clean and the safety and security of the children are their priority. They provide all meals to ensure safety from allergies. No outside food allowed. Please speak with the staff if your child has special dietary requirements. The staff is professional. They greet you and speak professionally. I don't like to use the word friendly because this is a business and not my friend so kudos to them for maintaining professionalism. They follow the guidelines and don't deviate from them. That is the professionalism that will keep my (g)daughter safe. It's too soon to say how they treat the children in which I expect them to be friendly, kind, and empathetic. However, children are good judges of character, so I am sure if they don't like something they will say something The diversity in the children is here. They respect cultural values, so if you have any concerns let them know. First impressions great place to bring your children.

Military parent of 1 & 3 year old children. We were only here TDY for 3.5 months and feel fortunate to have found Primrose. We’ve experienced daycares on and off post in Hawaii and NC and this is the best one, and a huge value. My children are safe, happy, and loved here. They’ve both learned a ton in these short months. The teachers and staff know us and have helped me with anything I ask.Receiving photos during the day and end-of-day updates digitally has been very meaningful for me and more so for my husband who doesn’t get to see the kids during the week.I wish we had a place like this near our home that had room for our children. It seems the teachers are well compensated and are truly talented and passionate about educating and caring for children. Not the case everywhere we’ve been. The location is obviously a bit of a drive from Ft. Lee compared to on post facilities. However, there are a lot of stores and restaurants nearby that made the drive convenient to get groceries, coffee, meals, everything in Target, etc. Traffic in this area was never an issue for us, either.I hope this review helps another parent in the same boat, as it was pretty stressful trying to plan for this TDY experience with a lot of unknowns. Also, I was on the Ft. Lee waiting list for 11.5 months before my arrival, and they could not/would not offer us a space until several days into my course one opened up for one kid. Another opened up about a month later. I opted to stick with Primrose because we all felt great about it and did not want to risk the switch just for the convenience. All this to say, on post daycare may be great. I don’t know. But for the same price, Primrose was wonderful. They communicated well with us. And they had/made spaces for my kids.We had one incident where another young toddler was biting my child, and the staff handled it gracefully and professionally. Always a tough experience for both sets of parents.

I absolutely love this place. My daughter has been attending since 2013 prior to turning 2 and after attending one other daycare. My son started attending at 6 weeks old in 2016. So we have experience from all room levels. Being a working parent is tough enough without having to worry about your kids and the care they are getting-and I don't worry at all! I just asked my daughter while I was typing this, what she liked about Primrose and she said, "The teachers". She runs up and hugs her teachers, current and past and has really formed a bond with them. My son is always greeted so warmly by his teachers and they miss him if he isn't there! My daughter is in Kindergarten now and recently took the PALS test scoring 100 out of 102. I was told the benchmark is 29. While I'd like to credit that to good genes I know it has everything to do with Primrose! They have nurtured her not only physically, emotionally, and socially but obviously academically! She's now in the Explorers program and looks forward to going even when school is out. My son's teachers were instrumental in helping correct an eye problem by doing eye patches while at school-this was a HUGE help to us! I love that the teachers send pictures of my kids throughout the day-which completely brightens my day while at work! And those up front, Mrs. Dunlap, Mrs. Lasky, and Mrs. Wiley keep things running smooth! They always greet you when you are coming and going and address any special needs or requests. It really does feel like a family. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
