I’m so glad I went with my gut and drove the extra mile. I drove almost an hour to visit this coin shop even though there were other coin shops a lot closer. The reviews I read prior to visiting were all true. Just as soon as I entered the shop, I was greeted with a warm welcome. John and his wife are super friendly and John is VERY knowledgeable of old coins. I had a pretty decent collection that was handed down to me and I was impressed at how he could just look at this stuff and know instantly if there was any worth. He is fair and honest. That is hard to find these days!!!! I highly recommend this coin shop!

Johnny really pays up for coins when it's time to sell.. The prices for coins he has for sale are really good as well.

I absolutely love this coin shop !! It’s family owned and they always treat me right when I go in there. Always offer more than fair prices when buying and always give great deals when I buy from them !! One of my favorite places to go !!! Would 100 percent recommend!!

It was absolutely fantastic to deal with John. He is fair and honest in a business that can be pretty dishonest to an uneducated consumer. Highly recommended whether selling or buying.Remember, this is a husband and wife business. If they aren't answering the phone or the store isn't open during posted hours, try back. You might have to wait an extra day.

Went camping in Wakefield, VA last weekend and was interested in selling some coins from my collection. I searched Google for the coin shops near where I was camping and although there were closer places......New Castle had the best reviews. Had a very pleasant experience here! The owners were friendly and very fair with the price they offered for my coins. In fact, I'm sure that I got a better offer than I would have gotten anywhere else in the whole of Eastern Virginia!

Highly recommend!! I have saved coins for years and never knew the value. I called this place up and Shelly said to come on in. Her husband John looked at everything I had and also showed me how to fill out a PCGS submission form, if I wanted to have graded and explained how that process worked. They did not charge me anything and I learned a lot today. I highly recommend this place as a first stop shop!!!

I've been going to John's coin shop for many years. He's one of the nicest guys you'll meet. His wife works there with him and she is sweet as can be. It's my go-to shop for coins, currency, silver and gold bullion.
