Trying to return my rental, I showed up 10 to 15 minutes before store closing and the doors were locked and lights were off. Now because I return my rental on a Saturday, I have to hold onto the car until Monday. The employee desire to close up shop early cost me, two extra days worth of rental. Will never be using Hertz again.

BEWARE---- This place is absolutely terrible. Charged my mothers credit card for a toll that she did not take and took her deposit. They will NOT answer the phone. I would give a ZERO if I could.

I was skeptical booking my rental car at this location after reading reviews that they sometimes don't have rental cars available even when you have a confirmed reservation. I went to the location a day earlier just to make sure. I met with the manager (Derek) and explained to him that I needed to be in the road tomorrow and can't afford not to have a rental when I come back the next day. He was very professional and courteous. He gave me an option between two available cars (I picked brand new 2024 Honda Accord) and gave me the contract paperwork. All I had to do was come show the paperwork and be on the road. He went out of his way to help and accommodate my needs for pick up. I really appreciate his help. Also, Emma at the counter was very friendly and courteous. I would recommend this location. BZ!

Dropped a friend off to get a Tesla rental - it had been sideswiped and he didn't know it wasn't available until he got there. Gave him a Polestar that required hours of charging, so that was more cost for him and wasted time. It was only 11% charged so he couldn't leave on his trip for two hours, and had to find a charging station. A hybrid offer would have been more practical since he had a four hour drive ahead of him that day. Really think the Hertz office should have been more considerate of what the customer needed in a rental. For four days he was constantly on the lookout for another two hour charge. The Polestar charged at a Tesla location, but at a much slower pace - no 15 minute super charging.

I will not use this Hertz location anymore (although I tend to be happy with Hertz airport locations.) I have seen staff lie on the phone to customers (saying he was the only person in the office while I could see 3 staff) and once had the door locked WHILE I WAS STANDING THERE when returning a car at closing time. Hertz is my company's preferred vendor, but if I have to pick up a car other than at the airport, I use another company.

I left one star because I had to in order to post this. This place is terrible. Someone over there is stealing money from people’s credit cards. And they dont answer the phone.

I usually don’t have any issues with renting cars from other companies. Everything went smoothly until I returned the car and was charged again for the price of the rental. I was then told by customer service that I didn’t bring the car back charged. I picked up the car at 80% and returned it at 90%. This was my first and last time renting from Hertz.

**READ BEFORE YOU BOOK**If I could give 0 stars I most certainly would. I drove over an hour into Virginia from North Carolina for a pickup at 5:30, granted this location does close at 5:30, however, they still allow their customers to book that 5:30 time slot to come and pickup a vehicle. I got stuck in traffic and we all know Virginia traffic of a Thursday afternoon at 5pm so I realize by that I may not make it to the location before 5:30 so I give them a call at 5:22 with a heads up that I am stuck in traffic but, just a few minutes away. I assume this person was the manager as he stated "I will check with my employees to see if I can get one of them to stay" then proceeds to put me on a hold. I wait on hold for about 5 minutes and by this time I am pulling into the parking lot and he states "I do apologize but I don't have anyone who can stay over to assist you" I say "Ok, I am turning into the parking lot right now so is there anything that can be done as I've already paid in full for this vehicle?" He continues to say "I do apologize but, I don't have anyone who can assist you and our system is down, we were actually shutting our systems down when you called"As a manager why you want to through work off to your employees? As a person why wouldn't you want to assist someone who had the decency to call you and give you a heads up that they are running late? The manager then proceeds to tell me "I would typically call my 5:30 pickups to see if they can get in a little earlier but I missed your reservation"In this case because he is human and didn't give me that courtesy call I will have to suffer the consequences of his actions? Unacceptable.I expected so much more but, unfortunately I didn't get that. I paid in full for this vehicle expecting to save time. I wasted time, gas and took time off of work to ensure I would get here in time to not be accommodated for anything.I have since sought out legal actions with my attorney and this location will surely be hearing from my attorney very soon.**UPDATE**Below I was asked to reach out to Hertz in regards to this review, however, nothing was resolved. All they were able to give me was generic answers.

Each time I've made a reservation with this location it has been nothing but a frustrating waste of time and effort. Despite having made a reservation online, the 1st time - the doors were locked when I arrived. The hours of operation were incorrect online. ? The 2nd time- I arrived to pick up my rental and was told I'd be placed on a waiting list because they didn't have any vehicles available! What kind of 'monkey-shine'mess is that?! Hertz, UPDATE YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION EXPERIENCE TO DENY/DECLINE RESERVATIONS IF NO VEHICLES ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE for the requested timeframe! Customers have to secure rides to get there so to be told they won't be getting a vehicle is UNACCEPTABLE, COSTLY, AND INFURIATING. ?

Made an online reservation a day in advance, then got a call three minutes before the pickup time saying that it wasn’t available. They told me the only car available was an upcharge. On top of that, I was quoted a price $40 less than the actual amount due bc of an upgrade fee and underage fee, neither were mentioned during my phone conversation. Terrible service.

Paid for a vehicle online that wasn’t available at the site. Friday afternoon before the office is to close with no car. Somehow another was found for an upgrade of $10 per day.The office doesn’t have a soda or snack machine. No water is available. The office looks like something from the 1970s. Not a great place to work or visit. The staff were nice to several customers so that’s a plus.

Don't go there 1 employee. Don't blame the one Hard working lady. Blame Hertz for leaving her without any support on a busy day. Hope Hertz enjoyed the extra 120 bucks they made by leaving this loyal employee without any help
