Before Southern took over, I purchased 5 vehicles from HALL Hyundia Chesapeake within 6 years. All of the sales and business mgrs are fine, in my opinion. However, my experience with the service department has been unsatisfactory. My first issue came a week after picking up my current car (#5). My sales rep made an appt for me to be "taken care" of. I requested my tires to be filled and balanced to the correct PSI with nitrogen, and instead of performing this very simple task, the service manager decided to give his unsolicited opinion that I shouldn't be worried about a few PSI differential and simply keep driving until it balances itself out. First of all, I've been driving for over 35 years. 2nd, I'm a loyal and repeat customer. 3rd, if I had nitrogen in my garage, I wouldn't bother coming to a service department that doesn't value customers. That was in 2022. Today, I needed a state inspection. I mistakenly used the MyHYUNDAI app and didn't realize that it booked me a month out and not the this morning. I asked to be "fit in" because the inspection had already lapsed, and the service rep simply gave me all attitude and zero service. She didn't even bother looking to see if there was a cancelation or open spot to help me. After having enough of her attitude, I walked inside, and a sales Mgr recognized me as a repeat customer and asked what was wrong. I explained my situation, and he directed me to the Southern Chevy service department, They were respectful, professional, and able to fit my Hyundai brand into their Chevy schedule within 1 hour. Service is supposed to be the place where customers are made to feel welcome, so they want to purchase from the same dealership again. Needless to say, after 2 strikes at the Southern Hyundai service department, I'll simply go elsewhere to purchase my next vehicle.
