I was fully prepared to have a typical CVS experience today but I was pleasantly surprised. My doc gave me a paper prescription just in case they didn't receive the digital so when they couldn't find my order, I produced the paper script. There was some missing info so the pharmacist called up my doctor's office, got the info and filled the script. All in all it took about 20 minutes. I was initially not looking forward to going in at all but everyone was so nice and quick.

This store is a bit pricey but I HIGHLY recommend the care plus program! It's deconstruct worth it!
Since ALL CVS' are similar is always a huge comfort getting prescriptions that could or can travel as much as I do and having a store I know what I'll find on the shelf no matter where I am!

Update. This CVS has gotten better with Staff and Customer Service.
Not the best and definitely not the worst pharmacy I have been to. The location of this pharmacy is convenient. The Staff is hit or miss in the pharmacy.

I wouldn't be surprised if this location is brought under lawsuit. I work for a local doctor's office and it is incredulous how disregarding this pharmacy's staff is to our patient's well-being. They are openly rude to our patients, telling them to get a job with better insurance, mocking them for using copay cards, and outright NOT running our Prior Authorization claims for medication. I cannot reach anyone via the Provider line and am forced to leave voicemail, which will not be responded to, as they leave you on hold for up to an hour. I know pharmacy staff can be put under pressure, but this location is absolutely vile. Do not fill your prescriptions here (especially your important ones for Seizure, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol) unless you want to gamble with your life.

Unfortunately the majority of my experiences at CVS kempsville road has been less than favorable and I have vowed never to return again. Let's begin with drive-thru they never have both lanes open so needless to say it's always backed up. Yesterday I sat in the drive-thru for quite some time, when I finally arrived at the window they had charged the wrong insurance. Based on this, I was instructed to come into the store which I did. Upon arriving in the store, I was instructed to go to pick up counter so I waited in that line, once at the counter I informed the representative that they charged the incorrect insurance and to remove it from their system which she did. She gave me my price which was $0 and instructed me go stand in the pickup line which was extremely long just get a bag that she already had in her hand. Can someone tell me how this makes sense ??? It doesn't. Why would I have to go into another line to pick up medication that she had in her hand and there was no charge. That was totally asinine and a waste of my time. That store is the most unorganized understaffed pharmacy I have ever seen. They had prescription bags everywhere I don't know how in the world are able to find anything in that store.
I know everyone the short staff however you don't want your pharmacy department to be short staffed because they're shortage could be your life.

The worse experience I ever had. The pharmacy failed my daughter. She was home from college for spring break and we needed to transfer her EPILEPSY medicine and they denied it because the prescription was to new? Which was wrong because it's been filled before . They completely denied to fill a prescription she needed or she would have a seizure and have to go to the ER . I even told them she needs this like I don't understand what the issue is and didn't given me a valid reason besides stating its to new which it wasn't a new prescription what so ever. I simply didn't understand why they wouldn't fill it when the other cvs that was down the street from them was able to but they didn't have the medication so they transferred to a cvs that did and they said no and I'm like so you can care less that my daughter has a seizure because you won't fill her meds? And the response was well I can't do anything about it you need the dr to write another prescription which made no damn sense to me when you can see in her profile that she's had it filled has had other meds as well for her seizure but I was blatantly told oh well if she has a seizure like are you kidding me??? Why did another cvs tell me they can fill it but didn't have the meds and sent me to another to be denied? AND GUESS WHAT SHE HAD A DAMN SEIZURE!! because she didn't have her meds and this CVS failed her !!!! Even her doctor was appalled by what happened and it should have NEVER happened!! Will be taking this further because this is completely ridiculous!!

This cvs store is clean and well kept, but the pharmacy is the worst. All the pharmacy employees have had zero customer service skills, but that's not the worst part.....this pharmacy was originally a 24 hours pharmacy, but then changed there hours to 8am-8pm. Which was inconvenient, but I had to get over. What really makes me mad is that they just randomly close throughout the day and put notes on the wall saying different reasons, but they don't say when there going to reopen. It's ridiculous. This has happened to me probably 10 different times within the past 6 months. Wi started going to a different cvs pharmacy that doesn't randomly close during normal business hours.

36 hours+ to get medicine from a 24/7 pharmacy is fantastic.

Hope one day they will realize that answering the phone is a good thing, instead of picking up and hanging up immediately. So sorry I can't give you 0 (zero) stars .

This morning is the second time I have driven across town for go to the “24/7” CVS for medicine for my family only to find it closed. Call before you make the drive. 24/7 doesn’t actually mean they are always open at this location even though they are the only 24 hour store in the West Virginia Beach/chesapeake area. Now driving to opposite side of the city to try the other “24/7” CVS.
