Have been a member since 1980 when it was the employee Newport News Shipbuilding CU. It was just a Peninsula located CU. Now that it is BayPort CU and much larger, i don't see much difference in customer service. The counter staff are always friendly and will get your transactions accomplished quickly. The Account Managers I've dealt with have been very helpful. The only two issues" 1). The webpage is very confusing and a comboblated mess. It has to be one of the worst financial websites I've encountered. Almost as bad as the my new health care "My Chart" that everyone hates. PLEASE BayPort hire a new company to redesign your website. 2). When my father passed 5 years, I needed a Beneficiary IRA to transfer his IRA funds without a tax liability. Talked to an IRA account manager who sais they don't have those and she said she never heard of it. Really? She even put me on hold to go ask her boss. This surprised me big time. They didn't know of it's existence and was financially short sighted with the Boomers getting older and having IRAs that BayPort has not jump on this opportunity. That's a bit concerning as to managements focus.

Website says 401 Albarmable Drive which is the Chesapeake Sheriffs office. That’s 2 gallons of gas and 30 minutes of my time wasted. Website needs to be fixed.

If you’re a business owner, this is the worst bank to initiate business services due to their inability to keep scheduled appointments, failure to maintain protocol, and incompetence when following directions. I had a scheduled appointment to create a business account, nobody called, I called the number in the email and was blindly transferred to the Battlefield location only for the person to “take a message for the manager due to her door closed” disregarding the information that was previously exchanged by the person who connected the call. The person at the Battlefield location claims to have “looked for my appointment” but none of her colleagues acknowledged the appointment, even though there is a confirmation number listed and the appointment is located in their system. I wasted 30 minutes of my time, expecting to open an account, and had to rearrange my work schedule to find ANOTHER BANK who is capable of maintaining their appointments and taking accountability for their errors instead of finding humor in it.

Went to open an account, branch manager Gwen Plumber is a sneak. Said there was an issue with our cashiers check then left the room with our check and came back and said nothing, then said we have to wait just 9 days, (actually 2 weeks almost) before we could use the funds but she made sure she took the check before telling us about any "holds". Before all this she asks employment, and then begins to ask questions about my job trying to tell me how i should know this and that about my job as if I'm lying to her about where i work. INSULTING and the NERVE. I was bringing a lot of money to this credit union but i instantly took my check back and will go elsewhere... would not touch this credit union with a 10 foot pole. They got a sneak as the branch manager. I know i can't be the only one to deal with her and her stinky attitude.
