Bring your vehicle here to get work done! The people I dealt with here were honest and trustworthy and they provided a great experience for me. Which is why I brought my vehicle back for the second time. I recommend anyone looking to get their vehicle fixed or looking for a new mechanic to try Chesapeake Auto & transmission!!Marcelis P.

I was having issues with the Tahoe I recently purchased and when I took it to the previous shop, they couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t shifting right nor why was it accelerating incorrectly. After having my truck for a couple weeks, they called me and apologized and said I had to take it somewhere else. I took it to Chesapeake auto transmission next, and I promise you these guys are on point. Due to unfortunate circumstances, there was a little delay, but we know life happens. I was able to pick up my truck today and I got to tell you it runs as smooth as butter lol. Thank you to Mike, Jonathan and team for your commitment and dedication to making sure my truck was running the way I expected and needed it to. Any future issues I may come across and I need a good mechanic I WILL go to Chesapeake tire and transmission. They will find out what the problem is and fix it. I guarantee it. Thanks guys for all you did.

Chesapeake Auto helped my family out when we were incredibly scrambled and stressed out. We had a lot going on and on top of it needed to get the car inspected within a short window of time. They were so kind and patient with us getting my father’s car inspected and explaining everything we needed to do. I really appreciate their help and kindness.

Mike, the manager is simply the BEST!!! He was extremely kind and he is highly knowledgeable in his diagnostic field! He fixed my car and it is running better than ever. His prices are so much cheaper than his competitors and you get personalized service here. Mike and his team give exemplary service and others should lead by his example! I HIGHLY recommend his company to anyone that needs a thorough auto diagnostic test on their vehicle and repaired. I will definitely come back to him in the future for all of my car’s service needs. Thank you so much!!!

10/10 would recommend! I took my car here, and she's purring like she's brand new! I called the shop for an oil change and was able to get in super quick! Everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable. Jonathan, at the front desk, had excellent customer service and answered all of my questions and concerns regarding my car.

Called to make an appointment and Johnathan was able to make me an appointment the same week. Brought my car in having no idea what the issue was. They had it diagnosed and fixed the same day and it rides so much smoother. They are nice, quick, well prices, and had great customer service! When I walked in, I overheard him on the phone trying to fight for another customers warranty. Again, great customer service! Found my new mechanics!Service: Steering & suspension repair

I recently had my 2018 Suburban serviced by Johnathan and he did a great job. He addressed my concerns that I had at the time and felt comfortable not dealing with a dealership. I appreciate him and the service I received!!!!

I brought my car (2012 Ford Focus) from the dealership after a recall fix. The gears were slipping and my car was hesitating to accelerate. Also, at the dealership they said my car was overheating. Johnathon was at the desk and told me that it may be slipping gears because the car is over heating and not allowing the right amount of fuel to flow in the engine. He said that it was necessary to fix this, which I agreed with.I get a call the next day and was told that essentially the cooling system/ heating core was shot and that it needed to be replaced. This was going to cost $2,600 to fix. I agreed to the repair. The day after that I got a call saying that the radiator was corroding and it should it should be replaced as well. This brought the repairs to over $3,200. I get a call saying that the repairs were successful, all the tests were reading normal. There were no codes coming up for the transmission. I was told that the check engine light was off and my car was FIXED. I get my car back and not even 2 minutes into driving my car it starts to do the EXACT SAME THING THAT WAS WRONG! (The slipping of the gears) I call them, they tell me to come back, and a technician tests drive the car along with me. He tells Johnathan that the transmission wasn't engaging. Remember, I was told that there were no codes showing up for the transmission. I give my keys back and I'm told that they are gonna service the transmission at their expense, and that sometimes things dislodge and causes things to act funny. A week goes by and I call them and I'm told that they're waiting for parts to come in. Another week goes by and I'm told that it's gonna be ready the day of or the next day. I asked if everytbing was fine and was told YES. I call the next day and was told that they're just waiting for a bay to open up. Weekend goes by and then I'm told they waiting for transmission fluid. We are on the third week and I call. Johnathan proceeds to tell me that he found TSB (technical service bullentins) or recalls and that I need to take my car back to the dealership to get these fixed. I'm given back my car NOT FIXED with a bunch of paper work. I call the dealership and told them about the TSBs and was told that these are in fact NOT RECALLS and these are out of pocket expenses. I called back Johnathan and expressed my concern. He proceeds to tell me that "I should ride it out" or "replace the transmission". Again, I was told there was nothing wrong with the transmission initially. I was then told that he would get back to me later in the afternoon, which he never did. I called back and asked if they would be able to fix my car. He told me that he was waiting for people to get back to him for parts regarding my transmission. Not once was the 2 week/200 mile warranty mentioned. By the way, my car was driven less than 5 miles and was at their shop throughout the duration of the 2 week period. At this time I decided to get a second opinion. After spending another $150 on a separate diagnostic I was told that the dual clutch system was the cause of the gears slipping and it would cost me an additional $3200 to repair my car. I asked the technician if the over heating would affect this. He proceeded to tell me that the heating/cooling system was necessary (which I agree) to fix, but the dual clutch system problem was always there.I called back and explained the additional repairs. I was told "Sorry". I told them their services were no longer needed. I have since gotten rid of the car, purchased a new one, and now left with $3200 in repairs to pay for a car I no longer own.I was initially told my car was fixed and it wasn't. I was then given the run around for over two weeks after the initial repair just to get my transmission serviced and get my car back NOT FIXED. I'm not mad about the initial repair. It had to be fixed. I'm mad about the dual clutch system problem not being identified as well. Had I known about ALL THE REPAIRS that needed to be done and the ov

Where do I begin — I was traveling back from NC with my pregnant wife, two dogs, and a week’s vacation worth of coolers, bags, etc. on a Sunday evening when my vehicle check engine light began blinking with 180 miles to go. We were incredibly fortunate to get off at the Chesapeake exit. Nothing insurance could do. Tow? Tow to where? We made it to a hotel off the exit. In a strange place with no one but ourselves. I spent Monday morning calling mechanics, mobile and otherwise. There was nothing anyone could do. I called Chesapeake Auto & Transmission and explained my situation to Jonathon. “Bring it in” he said.Jonathan and the mechanics managed to insert me into their already busy schedule, got me diagnosed, and worked all day to get me up and running. I can tell by the way these guys work that they kept their scheduled work moving as well. These folks hustle and work hard.Jonathan and the team were forthcoming, positive, knowledgeable and were able to get us up and running and feeling like new.If I were at home I would have been able to “phone a friend”. Jonathan and the mechanics got my family home safe and treated us with nothing but professionalism and respect. You can tell these guys know mechanical work and know people. Nothing but solid work here and we’re incredibly thankful to the Chesapeake Auto & Trans team. If they weren’t 4 hours away I’d be there for all my mechanical work. At least I know if I make it halfway to the beach and my ride implodes these guys will take care of it, or shoot straight if not.Bottom line, absolutely superb experience. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Bad at communicating, doesn’t pick up the phone right away. Had to call three times each day to get a text message back. We were in town for vacation an hour and half away, we had to make 4 trips up here since they didn’t want to explain what was going on with our car over the phone. We spend pretty much our week vacation going back and forth with them. Guy was not mean about us wanting it fixed within a week, asked for a 5 star review after it all. We just wanted him to tell us what was wrong, what he could do, and what time to pick the car over the phone/text message. It seems like they fixed what was wrong but wasted a bunch of our vacation time and didn’t communicate over the phone.

0 stars, really. The guy at the front desk, who I’m assuming is the guy I talked to on the phone also, is rude for no reason. Slightly rude on the phone call but I brushed it off. when I came to pick up my car he gave me the key and just stared at me. I had to ask what was wrong with my vehicle and he fired off a long list of things, so I asked could I take a picture of the paper which listed everything, he said “sure” and once again just stared at me while the paper was behind the desk next to him. then I had to ask to get the paper and he pushed it towards me on the counter then stared in silence again. No prices were told to me (besides $90 for a standard oil change) , no open days I could come back, no help at all. Then he told me my car was in the parking lot “somewhere” and after walking around and looking at no avail, I went back in and he said it’s actually in the back even though he never came outside to tell me that when he could see me through the glass windows, hear me honking the horn, and the front desk is literally next to the door. Would never return.

Johnathon is AMAZING and extremely patient! Our daughter is in law school in Virginia Beach and had some car trouble. We are in Colorado and couldn't help her. We called Chesapeake Auto & Transmission, (which we found on Google and appreciated the positive reviews), and Johnathon was our constant contact. He gave us all the details of what needed to be done and offered a student discount to do it! On top of that, he was extremely patient with both husband and I calling from Colorado several times to understand the problem. I highly recommend this place!

Waited a couple weeks to post, letting time pass and letting me simmer down. But here's my advice: Do NOT use these people. At this point, I wouldn't trust them with a potato. They kept my truck for SEVENTEEN DAYS, and only did any work immediately after I went to see them in person, because they WILL NOT CALL TO UPDATE YOU. You will pay $550 - up front - for RDI to see what's wrong with the transmission. But mine was not even a transmission issue - it was an electrical issue. Swapped out the fuse box ($167 online) and replaced the front axle actuator for 4wd ($100.) Convinced me they needed to "service" the transmission, which turned out to be a $600 fluid and filter change. Tried to convince me the spark plugs and wires needed replacing - but they were replaced 18 months ago. My total price was $2200. FML. Just a miserable experience...take your vehicle ANYWHERE else. 1 because I can't give zero, but I'm going to pretend it shows up as a negative 1.

Very professional and helpful. They don't try to swindle you out of money and they give you straightforward answers on the car maintenance. They also have a very quick tat and communicate along the process of the car being fixed.Services: Transmission
