I had a problem with my Hyundai Tucson and the local dealerships didn't have any available appointments for over a week. We called Chesapeake Auto & Transmission and they looked at my car the very next morning. Within a few hours, I had a diagnosis and the cost to fix the issue. Excellent service and fair pricing!

Very poor communication! When I called to ask when my car would be ready, they were incredibly rude on the phone. They said they'd let me know when a slot opened, but I never received a call until my car was already done. And to top it off, they charged me $500 for bar links, even though I supplied the parts myself!

I've taken my truck here two different times, once for a fuel pump and the other was for an AC problem. They did a great job and got me up and rolling quickly. I definitely recommend Chesapeake Auto and Transmission.

These guys went above and beyond what any other shop has, they helped me with an auto issue that had absolutely nothing to do with them but made sure I didn’t walk away getting screwed over, you don’t find places like that often.

If I could give this business a ZERO, I absolutely would!
On Tuesday, April 23rd, my check engine light came on not in the town we live in. My husband called this business because they were a recommended CarShield representative and close to where I was with my children. This has been the most HORRIFIC experience we have had with a mechanic!! He called on Friday afternoon to tell us that the warranty place wasn’t approving for anything to be fixed and we would need to pay for everything out of pocket. My husband told him to go ahead and begin work on Monday. Over the weekend, my husband felt like he should call the warranty place to see why they weren’t going to cover anything. The warranty company told us they hadn’t made that decision because they were still waiting for an estimate and photos from the mechanic. They said if work was done without their approval then they wouldn’t cover anything. My husband immediately called to leave a voice message at this business and told him to NOT do any work on the van until he sent in the needed information to the warranty company. My husband called 3 minutes after opening on Monday and talked to the business and reiterated not to fix anything until the estimate and photos were sent into warranty company and to let us know when that is done. My husband gets a text Monday afternoon saying our car was all fixed and ready to pick up. We were surprised because we hadn’t heard from them to let us know they sent in needed information. We call the warranty place trying to give the shop the benefit of being busy and maybe they forgot to call only to find out they NEVER sent in the information to the warranty company!!! The warranty company stepped in and tried to get needed information because the moment we paid for it we lost all possibilities of being compensated for anything. The worst part of it all is that we are a family of SIX and my husband’s car only seats FIVE, so we had to do a lot of juggling and weren’t able to go places as a FAMILY because this sorry business wouldn’t send in an estimate and photos to the warranty company. Essentially our vehicle was being held HOSTAGE because the shop wouldn’t follow the process that he agreed to!!! We ended up paying for everything out of pocket because there wasn’t a way for us to get the pictures the warranty company needed. After several attempts trying to get this shop to do it, we knew it wasn’t going to happen.
I would 100% STEER CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!!! This business doesn’t respect customers and lies to them. They have left such a bad taste in our mouth that we have scheduled an appointment with our normal mechanic to make sure the work was done correctly because of the lack of integrity displayed to us.
UPDATE: In July my check engine light came on again with similar issues! We took it to another mechanic to find out that parts were put in incorrectly, parts were not tightened causing oil to leak out of engine and they also found dropped parts floating around in the hood area!!! Because of their inability to fix the problem, CarShield wouldn’t pay for it because it was a “pre-existing” issue. We were told we had to bring it back to the original shop. We are SO AGAINST this business that we paid the new mechanic out of pocket because there was NO WAY we were bringing it back to them.
I am telling you to 100% STAY CLEAR OF THIS BUSINESS!!!!

2010 Ford Raptor 6.2L. My transmission was diagnosed quickly and accurately. They had my truck fixed and back to me in hours. Communication was excellent, I would definitely recommend this shop.
