I wish I could leave the stars blank.
Shopping for a place to keep my boat and some other stuff with wheels I spied this place, boat ramp! What!? Could there be a better option? Doubtful.
I wasn't far away so I stopped by and met Ms. Phelps, she's very professional and friendly, enthusiastically answering every question I could come up with, I gave her my info and, we would be in touch.
About a week later I opened the website to the the unit I need was still available and I rented it through the online process, and paid.
Alas not hours after confirmation of payment I was hospitalized, a couple days later I woke up, reluctantly checked my phone, I really didn't care to talk to anyone as you may imagine... Anyway I came across an email reminding me the rental agreement was unfinished, I responded to the email letting Ms. Phelps know I was in the hospital and I hoped to get everything done and move in within a couple days, at some point she called and we had an identical exchange.
Unfortunately I wasn't discharged from the hospital for another 7 days. As I was completely out of time to move my stuff, this was my top priority so I went to the facility. She came outside and dismissed me with a 'i ain't got nothin'
Thinking maybe she didn't recognize me I said 'I'm paid'
'didn't hear from you, rented yours to someone else'
Disappointed but far from angry I asked her what else might be available 'nothing'
Nothing, not even an open parking spot.
Odd, the website showed two outdoor parking spaces, and two enclosed spaces identical to the one I paid for....
Looking at their website, and going thru emails I find a 'move out receipt' from her.
5 days after I paid, two days after informing them I was in the hospital.
Cancelled my rental agreement(which, to be fair was incomplete) rented the unit to another customer, even though there was and still is identical units available.
No refunds, period. Not for the lock, nothing. Please? No!. Ok then...
They didn't do anything wrong, she's a nice enough lady, the facility is fantastic, but maybe it's just me, I think things should have went a bit differently.

Very clean facility with pleasant and extremely helpful employees. The manager (Sharon) went above and beyond to help me settle on a spot for my RV. What a wonderful experience! This is definitely the best storage facility I have ever been to.

Everything about this business and facility is great starting with the manager Sharon, and also its location, ease of entry and exit for users, and peace of mind knowing that what is stored is secured and looked over by people who care.

Sharon was terrific she explained everything and gave us a thorough tour of the property. We own a small business and feel that our vans are safe and secure behind two security gates (passcodes) and also security cameras throughout the property. We highly recommend ERS to anyone with storage needs. Contact Sharon she's the best!

I currently rent an office space through Elizabeth River self Storage , from the day I walked in Ms Sharon has been nothing but a blessing to me since ive been here May 1, 2024 made 1 year. Ms Sharon actually has done more than she had to she is more than a manager here she is like mom, whenever you come in you are always greeted with a smile and "HI sweetie" no matter what I need she has been there. I honestly cannot thank her enough for all she has/is doing for Elizabeth River Self Storage.. SHE IS THE BEST!!!

This place is looked sort of within a neighborhood, and I thought I was lost, a little hesitant I walked in and SHARON gave me the biggest smile she said, you are in the right place? I highly recommend this business just because of her!

Sharon was great in setting up my new rental space for my RV. The facilities are very nice, well lit, and seems very secure. One of their inner gates is currently broken, but they are working to fix it.
