I applied for an IDP International Drivers Permit in person. The person who helped me was friendly and courteous and explained everything succinctly and completely. I was in and out in 10 minutes with them taking my picture and the finished permit. Well done!

We have been members of AAA for many years and we recently stopped by the location at 111 Kempsville Road near Battlefield in the heart of Chesapeake. We are planning a trip to Disney World in Florida and we spoke with the travel agent on site. They have several but only a few are Disney specialists. This woman knew more about Disney World than I ever will or probably ever care to know. She was able to get comparisons on the different properties as well as several off site places to stay. She asked great questions and really helped us to determine what we wanted to do in the time and budget we had to work with for our trip. We left with a lot of literature to help us make an informed decision and we are very pleased with the experience.

My wife was a AAA member and spoke glowingly about AAA. I've gone here 4 times to get a check engine light issue, which was a problem with the exhaust system repaired. Hundreds of dollars and days in the shop and it's still not fixed. Horrible Horrible Horrible. I expected honest good work from AAA and got the reverse. I could have done better if I had pick an auto repair shop at random.

I've been a member for 50 years this year. AAA use to be the best for roadside service but I hate to say that they are so bad right now that I will not be renewing my membership this year. First off, they advertise 24 hour roadside assistance. This is false advertising. My battery died last night in a not so great neighborhood. I called AAA the said someone would be at my car in 40 minutes. Thirty minutes later someone calls me and says they can't find anyone to come out and to call back tomorrow. I guess they figured I would just sleep in the car since it was 11pm now. I ended up having to call Uber to take me home. Went back with my other vehicle, jumped the car, drove it to Advanced Auto a block and parked it in front. Walked back to my other vehicle with severe back pain (waiting for surgery).
Called Advance in the morning to have a new battery installed.
I was told they couldn't get anyone because it was at night and a weekend. If this is the case they need to stop advertising 24 hour service. it's more like 9 to 5 weekdays and that service is horrible as well. See below.
This has happened to two of my friends recently also. One had a flat tire. He was first told they would be there in an hour. Two hours later he calls to find out where they are. They tell him it will be 10 hours before they can get out there.
He called his son to have him help him change the tire. This happened in the late morning on a weekday. He is canceling his membership also.
Another friend had to wait over 6 hours to have her car towed. She already cancelled her membership.
My advice is stay away from AAA. You'll end up paying for a worthless membership as far as roadside assistance goes.
I will say the AAA repair shop is nice and they do great work. I'll miss that after I cancel my membership.

AAA left my elderly mother stranded for hours in Chesapeake Virginia. You give a sense of security for being a member, then when members unfortunately have to use the service they pay for every reassurance that you give goes out the window.
How dare you take people's money and treat them this way

My renewal process was handled smoothly. I down graded to the basic plan from premium because I am now retired and do not drive long distance anymore. The representative was kind and explained the basic benefits and lower fee.

I would give them less than 1 star if I could. More than 24 hours and my vehicle is still not picked up! Need I say more. I'm asking for my membership fee back.

My 66 yo husband was left stranded in 95 degree heat when he was locked out of his car. NO ONE EVER CAME. When weeks later I was called by the manager of the office she promised to look into it and call me back. SHE LIED. I have yet to receive a call back. This AAA chapter is not trustworthy. Their employees are lazy, lying, and do not care about serving the customer.

Asked for a diagnostic to be performed on my car and was advised it costs $50 and would be done prior to repair. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I inquired on the results and was told they found nothing wrong besides the belt that being repaired. When I was handed my receipt, I asked was there anything verifying the diagnostic and was told there was no print out it was more of a visual diagnostic. So when I started my car, my boyfriend noticed my right headlight was out. I guess no one visually saw THAT in the diagnostic! So he went inside to ask about it and why it wasn't resolved at which point the shop guy sent the clerk to ask whether it was the low or high beam that was out and my boyfriend responded to look in the system to what her diagnostic report said! They then said we had 2 other people ahead of us and they would bring it in and look at it AFTER having my car for a week! They pulled it back in the repair shop about 15 minutes later, then had the clerk call me after 5 minutes and say I would need a need headlight assembly not just a bulb and they didn't have that in stock, it would take 2 days to get it but she could get us a price. They then drove my car back to the front. The clerk called me again and said the assembly total cost would be $657 and we could make a deposit when we were ready to order before bringing the car back in. Later, my Uncle decided to look at the headlight to see if maybe he could get the bulb working in the meantime but when he went under the hood, not only is there NO BULB, there's also NO WIRES to connect a bulb AT ALL!!! They pulled EVERYTHING out of the headlight and didn't say one word except order a new headlight assembly!!!! WASTE OF $50!

Very helpful service reps. Prepared trip ticket and found a couple of addresses I didn't have. Provided info on covid issues and where to get info on website. Excellent customer service and very pleasant attitude. Highly recommend this AAA office.
