Having an emergency with my Razee girl vomiting, having straight bloody diarrhea and she wouldn't eat a thing. Dr. Victoria was the best of the best veterinarians you could ever ask for. Extremely friendly, VERY knowledgeable and she fully explains everything and gives you options unless there isn't any other option, and she has impeccable bedside manner. I have been looking a new vet for 6½ years in the Danville/ Pittsylvania County after leaving my former Veterinarian in North Carolina that I worked for and he was phenomenal as well, but a little to far to drive.
After going to numerouis Veterinarians in this area that I wasn't particularly fond of at all, After seeing Dr. Victoria, I have finally found a veterinarian that I absolutely trust. She will definitely continue to be my veterinarian from here on out!! Can't thank her enough for her very professional care and awesome bedside manner!!

It's the 4th of July and instead of cleaning the grill and preparing for the evening festivities, I'm having to place a call to the Chatham Animal Clinic. My beagle was bitten by a snake and honestly I wasn't sure my buddy would make it. His swelling was so bad in the face, I thought he was going to pop. I called the clinic at 7:30 am and Dr. Shorter said she would meet me at 8:15. The Dr. assured me that he would would be ok. After the examination and several shots we were on our way home. I can't tell you how great full I am for Dr Shorter and staff. To meet me at the office on a holiday made me feel like my dog was the most important animal in the world. I would advise anyone with a pet to give Doctor Shorter and staff a chance to show you why I feel they are the best. It's been almost a week and my dog is almost back to 100%. Thank you Dr Shorter for allowing Poey and myself to interrupt your 4th of July holiday. We are very great full for your excellent service.

I unfortunately have had to put many babies to rest in my life. And every time I've ever had to do it they have taken them to the back and put a line in their vein and gave them some sedation medicine. Then they have brought them back to me where I have loved on them while they have administered the medication to put them to rest. It is always been very loving and very peaceful.
Today I had to watch my little Lei Lei suffer as she was put to rest. Dr Lisa Shorter, who apparently is the founder, didn't put the line in her vein, I had to watch her try to put that needle in her vein and the needle was way too big. Her legs started bleeding and I had to watch them try that in three legs while she kept flinching and then they didn't get all the medicine in so I also had to see her take a couple of gasping breaths. Then Dr Shorter told me she can still hear a faint heartbeat and that they were going to have to inject it straight into her heart. There was nothing peaceful about this.
They came highly recommended and Dr Victoria Shorter was amazing when we met with her last week. The assistants are amazing also. But Dr Lisa Shorter not only was inhumane and cruel but she was also very snappy and disrespectful to the assistant. She needs to retire and not touch another animal. I do not want another family going through what we went through.
I also called and left a message to speak with the partner Dr Erwin and instead of him calling me, Dr Lisa Shorter called me. I informed her that I did not want to speak with her and asked her why she was calling me. She proceeded to tell me that she was calling because she figured it had to do with how everything happened yesterday and started to try to make excuses for how she tortured my cat. I told her that what she should have done was taken her back and put a line in her vein, it is done all the time. And I know it can be done even when their veins are small or hard to get into. A line would've gone in easier than her trying to force a needle 3+ times the size of her vein into her.
There is absolutely no excuse for what that monster did to my precious baby. I will never forget how she tortured her and made her passing painful and inhumane. Shame on you, Dr Lisa Shorter, shame on you!

Wonderful care received from Dr Victoria on a Sunday, even though we've never been there before! She went above and beyond. We've now found ourselves a new vet!

I have a pet duck that had an urgent problem. I called every vet in Lynchburg and surrounding areas; but, no one was available or wouldn’t see a duck. Chatham Animal Clinic said they were busy but happy to work us in! Dr. Shorter was beyond kind and happy to help us. I cannot thank them enough and likely will make this my regular vet.

I had an emergency with my dog and could not get an appointment with the regular vet. The staff at Chatham Animal Clinic was able to accommodate us. We were instructed to immediately come, and they would work us in. Not only did they work us in we were seen quicker than when I have scheduled appointments with the other office. The care and attention were great and could not have asked for better care for my pet!
