This is long, but you need to read this if you’re considering joining this credit union.Trust me!12/8/23- I got off work early, went to this branch and I started my membership at this credit union after looking into several banking options following my last straw with Wells Fargo snapping. I explain to them that I’m going to the Caribbean for New Year’s and that I need my money to be there when I want to spend it and accessible when I want to spend it and that Wells Fargo was failing to provide those 2 basic services to me. They sold me a checking account with an attached debit card and a saving account, the total was less than $40 for both and membership fees. I activated my debit card and set my PIN number to be the same as it was on my debit card with Wells Fargo before I left the store. I leave the building and try to get gas with my new debit card moments later and it doesn’t work, I go back to the branch and they are closed. I managed to get through the weekend without a dollar because I deposited my paycheck and everything I had in my life savings at Wells Fargo into my new VACU accounts, I used a coinstar machine for the first time since I was in high school, sort of shameful!12/11/23- I go back in the following Monday on my lunch break and get a new debit card.12/14/23- A few days later, I need to use it for the first time(first attempt at Xmas shopping with my mother) and it doesn’t work. Again, it was shameful having my card declined in front of my mother!?12/15/23- The next day I go back into a different location because I was in Richmond and I get another card. I try to pay bills online and the card doesn’t work again. That day I receive a debit card in the mail from them as well.12/18/23- (the Monday before Xmas) I go back in to ask why a debit card was randomly shipped to my house and to get it activated and cancel the one I already had that didn’t work. This was the first point at which I expressed concerns about their banking aptitude but they reassure me that now that this situation was brought to their attention they are taking extra special care to make sure that I can get my Xmas shopping done before Christmas.12/21/23- first day of xmas break. I try Xmas shopping at the downtown mall and the new card I got that came in the mail and then I took to the store to activate did not work once again! I go to a shared coop to get a withdrawal, it works! Hallelujah, I’m thinking by this point! F?cking magical! I get most of my Xmas shopping that done that day! With cash…12/23/23- the last day they are open before Xmas. I go back into the same branch and make it perfectly clear that I am displeased with their service! I then request to speak to the manager. He personally helps me and insures me that my new card is active and should function as a normal debit card would at any store that accepts MasterCard. I take it to a store nearby just to test it out, it doesn’t work, so I go straight back to the store and I get a new card from the manager who stopped working with the member he was working with to help me as soon as I walked in. He was very attentive and apologetic. While I’m there, I get another cash withdrawal to be on the safe side.12/26/23- I go to the same Branch I always go to to deposit two checks I got for Xmas and my last paycheck of the year. I had not attempted to use my debit card since the last time I was there.12/30/23 I go to the grocery store to pick up snacks for my flight in the morning I call customer support because I need gas to get home. I repeat, I’m officially stuck on the side of the road without access to my funds. Customer service asks me a security question, my mothers, maiden name, they said I get it wrong. I KNOW MY MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME! They place a security hold on my accounts the day before I am supposed to fly to Puerto Rico for New Years Celebrations!!!Needless to say, I didn’t go, this company ruined my holidays and I’m I’m just waiting for them to open so I can close my accounts and switch over to UVACU.

I've consistently received exceptional service from the team at VACU, but my most recent experience truly stood out. This past week, I had to complete several transactions as part of selling my old vehicle and acquiring a new one. Throughout the roughly two-hour process, Ryan Baker at the front desk was a huge help. He provided invaluable assistance with unwavering patience, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. My experience was smooth and efficient.

They are always pleasant, and very helpful when it comes to addressing a customer's i.e., patrons, questions, concerns, and issues for me, and others since I opened my account with them 10 years ago.

If I could give an zero I would!! I got a loan from them. Had some medical problems and got behind that when the problem started it wouldn’t let me pay online or have assess to my account.

I have repeatedly asked for MY money which I deposited in my savings account. This was not a loan. This is my cash that I allowed them to safeguard. The manager literally looked at me like he fully did not understand the concept of putting cash in someone's hand. He said it would take a week to get the cash. I called the 1-800 number and they said they would call the branch and get back to me. I stopped by a week later. Nothing. Fast forward a month later and still nothing...no phone call, no letter,...nothing. Banks deal in cash but his one doesn't have any of it. Now what do you call it when someone takes your money and won't return it? America is in trouble. Won't be doing business here again.

I used to love getting my auto loans through here and used to recommend people for it. Now never again. Ashley?? One of the rudest people ever on the phone with an extremely condescending tone. Doesn't understand the differences of certain home loans which is sad being in a financial job. But thank you so much UVA credit Union for giving me a 1.49% interest rate much better than Virginia credit Union and so much easier!

We contacted VACU before moving to VA, and set up the mortgage on our new house. They worked great with us, always quick to respond. Everything was handled very professionally. We opened a checking account once we got here, and we love the FREE ATM's everywhere we go. We are very pleased with them.

So far, missing 6k. Everything with this branch is a mystery. Tons of in and out transactions on my accounts that never show on my statements. Online credentials (passwords) constantly stop working. Checks cut from my account by bank office with no notice to me. MISER

What did you do with the big red head. Went in your branch today and asked where Davin was! He’s gone! All I got was the short girl I think her name is Vicky give me an attitude. Never the nicest place to bank but done with is now! See you all at UVA credit union.
