My dog got his foot stuck in a heater floor vent cover and was in a lot of pain we could not get it off at home he was in so much pain he was trying to bite us while we were helping him. I knew he had to go be put to sleep in order to get it fixed. Im living in Louisa and couldnt find any vet that would help but vetts took him right in and got it off within 20 minutes. These people were so kind about everything to deal with my dog hulk getting the care he needed they even cut his toenails (which he never let me do he would bit the trimmers ? ) and they did it for free i expected to be paying close to 1,000.00 for services and they knew i didnt have any money currently (dont judge everyone has had their down moments) and i walked away paying less than 350.00! And now my boy is feeling back to him self it was bad but small incident and i was really upset about it but they were so easy going i instantly felt better when we walked in.
Thank you guys so much for saving his toe and most importantly the hospitality and understanding that was shown ?

Money hungry, poor treatment. Didn’t do our dog any justice. Please go somewhere else.

Very personable and accommodated as best as possible in an emergency situation. Felt the advice and treatment were both top notch. Had a bad experience with another place and would absolutely reccomend

Only came there for a first time check up and and the doctor won’t nice he didn’t like that I refused a test that was not need I explain before hand over the phone why I want my pet to be seen and they over piece. I called another vet and was able to meet my needs and get me in. I would not recommend this vet. It is over price. They are rude and not friendly.

I brought my 12 year old dog who was having hind end weakness and muscle loss for a second opinion to be sure we were doing everything we could for him. I was afraid it was a neurological degenerative issue since I had tried two pain medicines with no noticeable improvement. The vet explained how the muscle loss could be due to lack of use because or arthritic pain and suggested that two medicines together often made more improvement that either separately. So that is where I am going.

VETSS is the best!! The receptionists make sure to do everything they can to get your pet in ASAP and are very professional over the phone and in person. The vet techs and vets care so much for my pets, understanding that these are my fur babies, making sure to check everything needed in order to send me and my dog home happy and healthier then when we came in.

So I live in williamsburg Va, and my son and his mother in Charlottesville VA with our dog we share custody with, Lol... A butthead Australian shepherd by the name of Annabelle... Well recently we found out our dog has diabetes. Within the past week she has gotten sick and not eating much and her diabetes got really bad and we almost lost her... We have had her 6 years and she is family, and Dr Karen Holm saved her life today. We truly thought we were going to have to put her down because of financial burdens. We just can't afford a lot. This doctor truly showed care and compassion and I can testify, she cares about animals. She worked with us and was completely fair with prices and I could not be more happier. She could have easily sent us home and just told us to keep her as "comfortable" as we can because we didn't have a lot of money. Vetts veterinary will always be my go-to vet in the Charlottesville area. Thank you guys for saving my family member today and putting ease on our worries... I don't know what I would have done without you guys today!!!

I had a very old cat. I've had him since I was 7 or 8. He was a very good boy. He went downhill this weekend and I called here to see how much it'd be for us to put him to rest, and thankfully it was only $130ish for the euthanisia. After talking to Greenbrier this was a relief. It absolutely is insane to have to consider your finances to determine if your pet can rest in peace or go suffering. I wanted him cremated and returned to me which cost extra but not too badly. In the end it totalled a bit over $300. Everyone that works here is amazing. I could barely speak but they didn't push or ask many questions. They were all understanding and sympathetic. It all went very smoothly. I'm glad my old man is finally at peace and resting. I can't thank everyone here enough for their help today, which has been a very long weekend for us. Tux would've loved you all as well. I would highly recommend these vets for anyone considering them.

I was looking forward to this new vet office for our dog. Unfortunately the vet assistant triggered our dog and he was scared. The veterinarian came in the room and I mentioned it’s too many people it’s making him anxious. She brought in another technician now it’s 3 new people. They didn’t take my advice of not introducing all these new faces. At our old office we stay in the room we just see a vet and everything is done in one place which helps make the apt go quickly and smoothly. The vet asked me do you have any concerns, I said no, but I asked what are some things that I could do to help with his dental care without doing artificial dental sticks, or chews. She asked me if I would hold the dog which I did and she also said can you look in his mouth and hold up his gums for me? So I did I open his mouth and lifted his gum. She said OK I would recommend a cleaning here in the office. So the veterinarian stepped out, still no checkup ant this time. Then another technician came into the room with three pieces of paper with an extensive bill about dental surgery and procedures. I asked the tech if the veterinarian was coming back in to complete the wellness visit. The vet returned and she said she was done I said, but we haven’t done anything? No vaccines no weight check no one has listed to his heart.
So the doctor recommended that I give him a gabapentin and reschedule. This was very upsetting because we were there for vaccinations, a healthy well check up to get his Bordetella vaccine and we left with nothing. They insisted that I needed to pay the wellness check up fee even though I am the one who asked to get his vitals. No one was doing anything this appointment was so overwhelming to me and my dog. The tech continued to talk about rescheduling for dental care that would cost $1300. It was very upsetting and no one even showed any remorse. I asked to speak to the office manager because they did not give the well check up, and it wasn’t fair to be charged for something that they never even did. How can you recommend giving a dog gabapentin when you haven’t even given him a healthy well check up to determine if he is even healthy to take such a high sedative. I left feeling very sad at how I was treated and my dog was treated.

VETTS was great. I had a sick cat on a Friday evening when my regular vet was closed. VETTS saw my cat, gave him the proper medication, and he was on the mend the next day!

From making an urgent appointment (they got my pup in same day) to the whole process of assessing my dog and making a treatment plan, the whole team at VETSS was amazing!! They were so kind and showed so much love to my sick puppy! I felt like they listened to me and based off that and their assessment they made a great plan to get him better.

Weekend dog injury resulted in a visit to VETSS. From the first contact by phone to contact with the front desk staff, the techs and the vet, the visit was just great. These folks are friendly and knowledgeable. Our dog Millie also gives them a high rating.
