I consider the Men's and Boy's Shop to be the best men's apparel store in Charlottesville. Kyle and Logan are ace haberdahers and the selection is great. They are my place for men's apparel in Charlottesville.

Went in to pick up a belt for a wedding, ended up buying a great looking suit, was in town for a few days but they shipped it to me after they did the altercations. Exemplary service and just an absolute highlight for a big fella who doesn’t get to find such style in his size often.

Are you truly debonair? Step inside and find out. Best men's shoes in cville. Not only that, but The Men’s & Boy’s Shop is the oldest continuously operating business in Charlottesville! Old fashioned goods store selling classic clothing for men and boys, with free alterations for the life of the garment.

Nice store! Went in with my partner and the owner knew his size immediately. Picked out a very nice shirt. Huge variety, lots of very nice shoes here as well. Reminds me of men’s clothing stores found in Cambridge or Oxford- but with a southern touch. The owner is very helpful.

Absolutely do not recommend. Their markups are crazy! They sell a suit for $550 that I found elsewhere online for $250 or less. It felt like a substantial part of the makeup of that suit was polyester (probably >25% at least), which is absolutely unacceptable for a garment priced like that. They acted like $550 is a budget suit, whereas it is more like a mid-range suit. $1k gets you to decent quality suits at this place, but you can get a *much* nicer suit at national chains for $1k.Even considering free alterations (which usually run like $100 max over the life of a garment), that is a $200 markup. Go to SuitSupply if you want a $550 suit. Or, if you want better quality at a lower price, Men's Wearhouse. (Yes, seriously, at least you can get an OK suit for $250 from there.)Their salesmen are also very pushy.ETA: Their response obviously shows how they dodge the issue of markup. Of course they carry "cheaper suits" and more expensive suits with better materials. Many brands have this. But are you willing to pay such a huge mark-up for "lifetime alterations"? I suspect no. Unless you have radically different needs from the average suit-buyer, you're never going to make up your money's worth. Suit hemming is typically $15-20 at a normal alterations place, letting in/out the waist of a suit jacket is usually less than $50, and changing cuff length is usually ~$30. Think about how many times you get each of these done, then compare prices to elsewhere. If the markup on a cheap suit is $300, imagine what the markup is on more expensive suits.I'd also like to point out that I'm not the first potential customer to make this observation. Another review online points out that they paid $150 for a sweater that they found online for $50.Get a wool suit from a national chain that fits you decently, pay $100 to get alterations, and keep your extra $200. It seems like their average wool suit is $1k or so (don't quote me on this, see for yourself). Instead, you could pay $800-1.2k for a made to order suit from an online retailer. Or you could donate your $200 to this shop by buying your suit from them. I'd recommend donating your money to the needy instead.
