3 stars because I’ve been there twice. The first time I was there was great the man wanted to help me and answered any questions I had. But the second time on October 2nd I went in and was met by a different guy. Immediately he was impatient and didn’t want to help me understand things. As I was asking questions trying to just learn some more about my guitar while he was fixing it up he gave very short and rude answers. He obviously hated life and honestly I left feeling like a complete idiot for even trying to talk to him. But he did do the work I asked him to do just don’t go in expecting a friendly face every time.

Scottie did some work on a seagull S6 I brought in. He is an amazing technician. The guitar sounds absolutely amazing now. I highly recommend bringing your instruments in for him to tune and adjust.

Great experience. John intuitively understood I was looking for a sound and not a brand. He gave me permission to play any guitar I was interested in. Some stores won't allow that. I found the guitar sound I was looking for.Thank you John, for being patient and a great guy.

I love coming here for my musical needs. They have a good selection of instruments and accessories. That silver fox at the front desk AKA John is literally the coolest person ever. I love when he's working there because I know I'll have a good laugh. A laugh is guaranteed when he's on the clock. He's always super helpful and he definitely knows his stuff. Give this man a raise!

I like to get my music supplies here instead of online, just to support local business. But today I got a bonus when Stacy's replaced a defective string for free. I'll be back.

Overall nice store first time we were in the store it must have been a manager or owner who helped us - very helpful we knew we would be backHowever, when we were in today theemployee let us know in actions and words that he didnt have time for us - if he treats all your customers this way you will lose business

We looked around a little and when I mentioned to my friend that I should get some picks, the friendly guy in there said we can take one or two free ones. It's the little things like that that make you feel like coming back. I have plans to be in the area so I'll definitely see if I can make time in my schedule to stop in and maybe get a mandolin for my brother or a ukulele for myself.

Best music shop in the area hands down. I’ve bought, sold, and traded quite a few guitars, amps, pedals, etc. and have also window shopped and made small purchases here in the past couple years and have always received genuine service and fair prices The manager, John, is extremely nice and honest. My most recent purchases have been a Jackson RR and an Epiphone SG and I couldn’t be happier with them.

A friend suggested this music store while I was in the area... I was met by the manager, John, who could have sold me a new nut but after his quick evaluation we tweaked the neck action and voila- good as new. I found an honest man so I looked around and purchased new strings and a looper that I was shopping around for at Sweetwater et al thinking only about savings... but sometimes in the rush to save a buck we forget about that personal touch so because of the trust & friendly service I found my new music store while I am in Charlottesville ... thanks John ~

These guys have always been very honest and very helpful. I've never actually spent more than $10 at a time there, and they have still talked to me about my guitars and helped me figure out what I need to do when one of them is messed up. They never try to up-sell, which makes a big difference IMO.

Upon walking in I received immediate attention. Very helpful and attentive individuals, and i know just based on the warmth from when I walked in that everything else they offer is top tier. Thanks Chet and staff for a wonderful interaction! Truly made my day a better one.

My son took fiddle lessons at Stacy's and we've been shopping there for years now. Great place for lessons. All the music teachers we've met there have been professional, good at their instrument, and good at actually teaching. Everyone is always warm and professional. The atmosphere is totally different from Cville's Music and Arts (where the staff usually seems annoyed to see customers and is notoriously difficult to communicate with). At Stacy's, I get a warm welcome and professional service by phone and in person. Their guitar and violin repair services have been great for us. We've only needed minor things done. They've always been completed quickly and well. We've had them special order a guitar, amp, and other items. We've been happy with all our purchases. They can special order just about anything they don't happen to carry in the shop.
