The pharmacists and staff in the Barracks Road Kroger pharmacy are among the most helpful healthcare professionals I have encountered anywhere. Really. I am grateful for their service.

Short on staff, so no customer service. I went to rent a carpet cleaner (I had looked it up, it was available at the store), and I even called ahead the day before to make sure I would be able to rent. The woman on the phone told me that someone would be at customer service on Monday and could help me. Monday comes, nobody at customer service and a sign saying customer service was closed due to low staffing. I ask around, am told to wait 3-4 minutes, nobody comes. Another customer asks, is told 45 minutes. I didn't have 45 minutes, so I left. Came back a few hours later, was told nobody would be able to help me. Came back almost a week later, was again told nobody would be able to help me. Overall, never got to speak with customer service, was not able to rent the carpet cleaner at all. Store may be fine for normal shopping (I haven't checked), but if you're looking for customer service or any specialized purchases, no luck.

Hours on the plaque and online say they open at 9am. I am here at 10am and the gates r up, no explanation, and no signs of opening anytime soon…

They never actually prep prescriptions ahead of time. They do it when you show up. This means that the wait is usually very long and can be intolerable if there are more than a couple of people waiting.

Kroger pharmacy used to be really good. Now they are so understaffed that after waiting two weeks none of my prescriptions had been filled. Also they will cancel vaccine appointments at the last minute so don’t even bother scheduling one. Sincere condolences to the remaining employee(s) for what I can only assume is terrible treatment by corporate leading to a mass exodus of pharmacists.

Used to be great, but has gone rapidly down hill in past months. Currently waiting on 2 prescriptions that are almost a week overdue, and still not ready! This seems to be the new norm at this pharmacy. I've called many times but no one ever answers the phone.

Are you serious. The policy at Kroger needs to change. My friend forgot his ID but I had mine and we were just going to buy some beers. They refused to sell them because my friend didn't have his ID (even though I was buying and had mine). I understood this so I was just going to grab another friend and come back or get his ID and come back to buy. Turns out me and my friend weren't allowed to come back to that Kroger for 24 hours EVEN THOUGH I AM OF AGE. Ridiculous. Banned from Kroger for 24 hrs because my friend didn't bring an ID???? Administration and management were of little to no help either and didn't even try to talk to us and just said we were barred for 24 hours!???Come on Kroger

Really dreadful pharmacy. I watched the pharmacist and the tech gang up on and then bully an old lady for a mistake that THEY made. I've seen rude pharmacists before but I've never seen bullies behind the counter. They were fine to me but I just can't support a place that treats anyone that way.

Honestly such caring, hardworking professionals. The pharmacists are quick and reliable at handling any issues. I switched to them years ago and I'm glad I did!

This store is older, not as large as other nearby Kroger stores, lacks consistent stocking of quite a few items, and a couple of the employees might benefit from a little managerial direction. That having been said, most of the employees are very friendly and get to know their regular customers. I suffered what turned out to be a heart attack at this store and the checker I was at got me water and assigned a bagger to stay with me when I went to the men's room to recover. It was not until several weeks later when I had a second attack while at my doctor's office, that I learned I had heart problems. Kudos to the Kroger employees at this store! I regard this store as my primary grocery store. The pharmacy department here is great, too!

Nicolette is incredibly helpful!!! I lost my insurance and she showed me how I can get discounts on my prescriptions until I get my insurance back next month. I switched to Kroger from CVS because CVS never answered the phone. Kroger always answers and they are always helpful! I will be sticking with them!!!!!

We don't usually shop for groceries in Charlottesville, but we do when driving back home through the area. We came here in hopes of finding some decent fresh sea scallops and shrimp, but only got frozen shrimp that looked decent, as their fresh shrimp wasn't very impressive and what looked somewhat "ok" was small. They only had bay scallops, no sea scallops. The place looked like a mess, a Food Lion looks a LOT better. Staff were moderately friendly. Produce wasn't very fresh-looking nor was there much selection. We totally should have just gone to Wegman's, like we originally planned. We won't return.
