I had just driven from Roanoke to Charlottesville for Dr's visit at UVA and my oil light came on. One of the clinicians at UVA advised me of a very nice full service gas station not far from Fontaine Park. The station was wonderful and serviced my car and had me back on the road in no time. They are great.

I've been coming here to Finley's for a couple years now to get my vehicle's state inspections and mechanic work done. This is really the only place I've seen that allows you to set appointments for state inspections and that is so desperately needed in other shops where it's all first-come first-serve for those inspections. They do the inspections right and they've never tried to nickel and dime me on additional repairs like I have with my local NTB, who always found something to bill me on. No, these folks are professional, honest, kind, and the way they carry themselves and do business is how every mechanic shop should operate.

I can't say enough about Finley's--this is the best, most honest auto shop I've ever encountered. They are skilled, their prices are fair, and they are all incredibly kind and helpful people. I don't know much about cars, and they always took the time to explain what was wrong and break down all of the costs. Really great folks. Don't look anywhere else, just go to Finley's.

Turn my key, nothing. Call Charlottesville Wrecker and get a jump that works Thought I'd left my lights on . Call Shull's the next day because she's dead again. Shull's jumps me again. Ray comes and jumps me and tells me to examine my dome light. Then he jump starts me and insists on driving behind me back to his shop. I was afraid that he would have to charge me for a $300 alternator but that wasn't the problem. Turns out that the problem was the switch under my brake pedal was stuck in the on position. Always let Finley's have a look first.

We were traveling in the Charlottesville area and it felt like something was wrong with the transmission in my Volvo S80. We called from the road and Ray said come on by and we'll check it out. It was a busy Monday morning and they got to me within 10 minutes, which was fabulous! Great service, friendly and understanding. They ended up referring us to a transmission specialist and Ray said "Use my name." I can't thank you enough. We got answers in no time and saved our vacation.

Finley's is reasonably priced, efficient, professional, honest, and reliable. I moved out of the state years ago, but I still make the 5 hour trip to support them because they're simply the best.

I have been to Finley's twice. The first time, I wanted to discuss my car and ask some questions, but they would not listen to me and rushed to get me to pay and go out the door. I thought it might just be because they were very busy at the time, so it did not stop me from returning. When I returned yesterday, I was the first one to drop off my car in the morning and I was the only customer there when I picked up my car in the evening. For such a small shop, it is amazing how they just treated my car as a number and did not answer my questions about why I was having trouble with my battery. I went to AutoZone this morning, and it turns out that the battery is fine, but there is a problem with the alternator. So now I have to spend more time finding a mechanic to fix this, when I had originally asked Finley's to look into why I have been having trouble starting my car with a new battery. I will not be returning to Finley's, and I recommend anyone with any issues that they are trying to diagnose to go to other mechanics. Finley's will not have a conversation with you, and they only seem to do the bare minimum.

Mark Finley and his team have been caring for our cars for 20 years. Their service has always been courteous (in every way), and their pricing seems fair to me. (Hard to understand the comment about failing inspection/$300 -- does not sound like Finleys at all.) Every employee has been attentive, friendly, and professional. Among our vehicles is an old Range Rover, and they service it as needed. Recently had a problem with the brake fluid hosing, which Finleys didn't have the right tools to fix. Mark sent me to another service center that does a lot of foreign vehicle repairs -- got good friendly service there, too. Finley's is a class act. Many of our friends use them, and they are as pleased as we've been.

I used to go here but thought I was overcharged for a repair. I stopped going here after they said I failed an inspection and would cost around $300. I took it to holiday Exxon and they said it passed.

I cannot say enough about Mark and his team - they are highly skilled and professional, but also just really good people. I always trust them with my car.
