DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE LOW PRICES! Do not rent from them they will rob you and remind you the lease tells you the rate is subject to increase. For my first unit, which was a 10x10, I was paying $125; 6 months later, they increased my rent to $213. I stupidly let them convince me it wouldn't happen again. I moved to a smaller unit, 10x8. It started at $138 JUST TWO MONTHS LATER; they increased it to $148. 5 months later, they increased it to $169. Now it is at 192. They will also refuse to send you electronic notice of the increase even if you tell them you are outside the country, even if you update your address. They will still send paper mail, so the increase is a sudden surprise to your account, but they will send your receipt by email. Apparently, your email is only useful for letting you know they took your money. The charge is on auto-pay. I never owed them a penny, but they use it as an excuse to milk you dry. 10x10 units are going for $169 and $90 in just the first two places I called. Smart Stop is a complete rip-off. Do yourself a favor and rent from people who respect you as a customer and your money. The AC and flashy signs are not worth the instability and rip-off. Other stores have similar services and treat you better.

This place is very nice, clean and well maintained. The employee that helped me, Kaitlyn, was also very nice. She helped me even though I came in near closing time accidentally. She was thorough and had answers to all my questions even the dumb ones. She’s also good under pressure. Minutes before closing time another customer came in and they were so rude, yelling, and I quote “about to spazz”. Kaitlyn handled it very well, assured the customer all would be right. This did not calm the customer, who was in the wrong and had no idea what they were talking about. A higher manager was called and he handled the situation well, conceding where he could but following important protocol. This customer had a lot of problems and they were all somebody else’s fault and poor Kaitlyn got the brunt of it. Kaitlyn I hope you had a better rest of your SATURDAY, that you stayed late on! Give this employee a bonus or vacation!
