The staff at CVS at Fifth Street have always provided helpful, considerate and friendly service. It is a pleasure to shop there

Always helpful and friendly pharmacists. I was able to get in for my Covid shot the same day. Other prescriptions have been ready on time. I don’t know why other reviewers are so negative. Convenient location near Wegmans, too.

This store is so short staffed the store manager who isn't a pharmacist had to start doing pharmacy because there was only one pharmacist and he was busy giving people vaccines.I desperately needed my anti-depressants that I've already skipped two days and was experiencing bad withdrawal from. So I made the mistake of going there immediately after I got my prescription. I understood that I would have to wait until the pharmacist was finished putting it together, and patiently allowed them the to take care of all the other customers first until the line was gone and I was the last person left. While serving everyone the manager had a casual conversation with us about how they're understaffed because no one wants to work there. Me and several other customers pointed out that other CVS locations are fully staffed and don't have trouble finding employees. He stated that's because CVS makes sure that those locations get people since they're busier locations. I stated that just proves it's not people not wanting to work, but CVS not wanting to give this location employees. The manager didn't like that comment apparently. He was polite to all the other customers except me because he didn't like my opinions on the matter. When they were ready with my medication and serving all of the other customers, I went back up to the counter and politely mentioned that I had a Good RX coupon as well. The store manager proceeded to throw a fit and grab my phone out of my hand, and throw my phone and my medicine and tell me I had to wait even longer now because he needed that before the medicine was ready. Turns out the pharmacist already did the Good RX coupon and all he had to do was ask him to make sure it was done instead of throwing a temper tantrum. He was completely unprofessional for that.Moral of the story, CVS needs to hire more people since clearly their store managers are so stressed that they feel the need to behave this way. They need to make sure store managers stay in the back and have no business with customers if this is how they're going to act. And if they can't get anybody to work then they need to start transferring people from fully staffed locations. Do better CVS!

This store is close by and usually not crowded, so I’ve picked up a few items here like home COVID tests. I stopped going to CVS for any prescriptions during the pandemic because of staffing and management issues. This CVS looks a bit run down and cluttered compared to some others in Charlottesville. Everyday prices run about 30 to 40 per cent higher than Walmart or other discount stores (see photo of cereal prices). It has a handicap access ramp right in front of the store as well as a USPS mailbox that gets collected at 10am on weekdays, so I often mail something while visiting the drug store. There’s also a Food Lion and Family Dollar in the same shopping center.

Just transferred my prescription. 15 minutes on hold, no answer. Called back again. Another 20 minutes on hold.I get we’re shorthand and all. But putting people on hold and not answering is the poorest of service.Get a voicemail!I had to call the store manager to get them to answer. Which they did.Absolutely rude!“Go get it filled at Kroger!” That’s what I got.Again, I get the short hand situation Really do. But these folks are just rude.No excuses here.Go to another store or you’ll just be disappointed.

Absolutely horrid pharmacy tech. Asked invasive questions ("Why didn't you pick this up earlier?! What, you just 'let it go' for so long?") when trying to pick up a basic prescription.

Pharmacy made me wait while someone who didn’t even have pharmacy items and just walked up to the counter, skipping in front of a bunch of people waiting in line for the pharmacy, checked out at the pharmacy. When I told the cashier that I did not appreciate her taking them before me or the others waiting, she said it was their policy to do so. Well I won’t be going here anymore. There are so many pharmacies in town that actually value their customers, I don’t know why anyone would choose this one.

probably the worst customer service i’ve received at a pharmacy. have been waiting a week for them to fill my prescriptions after being told dates and times it would be ready and consistently not being ready. do better.

Just had a horrible experience. I went to the pharmacy to pick up prescriptions that I'd been texted were ready and they said all were "on hold" except one. I asked what that means and the clerk said I had to ask at the "drop-off" window, which was five feet away. Things went down hill from there. I'm moving all my prescriptions to Giant on Pantops.

I can't even count the times they have turned me away from the pharmacy because they can't figure out my medicine. I had to put them on the phone myself with my doctor. Terrible service. They have no idea what they are doing. They never update their systems and they are always behind. I don't know why I still go there after years of frustration. I see the same people go in and get turned away after waiting for hours because they are so behind, they cannot manage their systems, they don't know what they are reading on their computers, and they simply don't know what they are doing.
