The good: They have a large selection. The bad: Just about everything else. None of the displays are labeled - no model names, no model numbers, no prices. I went in looking for two sinks and two faucets and was promptly greeted by a salesperson. She made a big deal about how she was going to take notes on what I liked - so far, so good. She was helpful up until the point that another customer walked in the door, then she couldn't get rid of me fast enough. She wouldn't give me any prices while I was there, but promised to email info. Two days later I got an email which consisted of links to the manufacturers' sites (as if I would be too stupid to be able to Google those sites for myself?). There were no links specific to the specific products I had been looking at. One of the links went to a site that listed 1,700 sinks!! The reason I went to their store was that I didn't want to have to filter down 1,700 sinks on a website. Her email said "please contact me if you have any questions", so I did. I asked her to send me the model names and prices for the specific sinks and faucets I had liked (and which she had supposedly taken note of). I wasn't surprised that she didn't bother to respond. What kind of an idiot business sends their customers to the internet? These days, the only reason to purchase at a local business is to see the products and receive excellent customer service, as it is always possible to find a better price online (or so I am assuming in this case, since the salesperson refused to actually give me a price on anything!) They literally threw away a customer who was willing to purchase two sinks and two faucets in their store, that day. No idea how this company stays in business. It certainly isn't because they know ho to treat customers.

Two employees had never seen a balancing spool for a tub/shower was told they don't make anything like that anymore. Ferguson down the street had about six different brands in stock and the one I needed.

Great people. Chill environment. Workers are really knowledgeable about products and they always seem to have the answer to the problem.

Sally at Noland is so helpful! I appreciate that she took the time to help me not only find what's best for me and my budget, but also fully understand my options. I recommend Noland and will definitely be a repeat customer.

Don't know about the consumer side, but on the trades side this is my favorite plumbing supply in Cville. Good guys behind the counter, usually have everything I need, and I can fill up the cooler with ice for the crew.

I went to Noland today to purchase a toilet. I'd been searching online, mostly for reviews and specifications so I could narrow things down. I was armed with model names/numbers and prices but did NOT expect that I would be so utterly confused by looking at the toilets for comparison of sizes and features. The sales rep named Ron was so helpful, patient and courteous. This went on for over an hour with me asking him to check this and that online about heights and depths and toilet seats and covers and then forgetting what was what and what we had looked at and what the price would be. I couldn't break the man, he stayed cheerful and patient through the entire ordeal and I left feeling VERY satisfied that I had ordered the right toilet for my very small powder room. All I can say is that Ron gets two thumbs up for being helpful and kind and more importantly, for maintaining a good sense of humor. It feels great to buy local and get the one-on-one experience that comes with looking someone in the eye. I joked that I knew he secretly wanted to be my contractor but that I would have to deny him that pleasure. He even laughed at that. Great experience and I will go there for my upstairs bathroom toilets as well. Great Job Ron! Thanks!

I really enjoyed my experience with Noland Company. The Nutone units are awesome. They are competively priced and have a better warranty! Eric at Noland was great. He was helpful and speedy. I would use Noland Company again!

I am currently renovating my house and if you have ever ventured down this road you know what a pain it can be lol. I have completed 2 bathrooms, numerous busted pipes and am currently working on the kitchen. The people at Noland Co. have been a TREMENDOUS help! Not only with which fixtures that will best suit mine and my families needs (and in our budget) but right down to, do I need teflon tape, or do I have the right size pipe running?. They have gone above and beyond to help me with what could have been a Lowes nightmare. So this Bud's for you Mr. Noland Co. worker! THANKS and keep up the good work.

Working with Noland was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. Our builder recommended that we order our new house's plumbing supplies from Noland. We visited their show room, they showed us a bunch of options, and we picked out the usual things--toilets, sinks, etc. They showed us (in a catalog) an enclosure for our claw-footed bathtub, but it was too expensive, looked rickety, and didn't appear to be tall enough for me (I'm 6'4"). We declined that, but specified everything else that we wanted. We confirmed this via e-mail, and they responded with an order list (like an invoice, but pre-order), which looked fine. One day we arrived at our nearly completed house to find that the plumbing fixtures had been installed, and were awfully surprised to find that the shower enclosure that we'd declined had been installed. We asked the builder about it, and they informed us that they'd simply picked up, paid for, and installed everything that Noland said we'd ordered. We tried to live with the stunningly expensive hardware, but it was bad for all of the reasons that we didn't order it in the first place. In a series of e-mails with Noland, they admitted that they had no record that we'd ever ordered that hardware, agreed that it appeared nowhere on the order list, but refused to repair or replace the equipment. (They said that we could *pay* them to repair or replace the equipment, but that hardly seemed fair for defective products that we'd not only never ordered, but explicitly said that we did not want.) I wound up making some modifications to the equipment to make it functional--a new shower head and an adapter arm means that I can now shower without kneeling--although I think it's likely to simply tear out of the wall before too long. Our builder no longer does business with Noland, as a direct result of this incident. Noland eventually stopped responding to my e-mails. My last e-mail concluded with this: "You sold me something that I never ordered, slipping it into an order with my builder, including something that my wife and I explicitly stated that we didn't want. Your own records demonstrate this quite clearly--you have a signed order that lists every product that we bought from you...save for the shower enclosure, which is nowhere to be found. I think I've been more than patient here. The right thing for you to do is to either fix this, replace it, or take it back and refund our money. You would want no less if you were in my position. I would like to resolve this amicably, and encourage you to take this opportunity to make things right." That was ten months ago and, having not heard a word from them, I've concluded that they have no interest in making things right. If my experience is any guide, you cannot trust Noland. Go elsewhere.
