“The team at Caliber took great care in fixing the small trunk spoiler on my 2001 BMW 325 convertible. She's a beauty and this loose piece made it impossible to open the trunk safely. The team found a solution for the repair that was both cost affordable and incredibly effective. We felt confident in their skills and so appreciated the effort - and quick turnaround. We will absolutely recommend them to friends and use them again when needed.”

“Mr. Schull repaired a headlight for me. He generously offered his own private vehicle for me to use for the day without me asking, and the service and results were prompt and top notch at a very fair price. I’d highly recommend him to everyone, support local small businesses.”

“I took my 2018 F150 to Masters Auto Body to have some gunk that had gotten on the chrome and paint removed. Now this was not a easy job because I had worked on it for two days straight and had made very little progress. Jeff looked it over and quoted me a price of $60 dollars and I took it back the next day for him to do the work. I gave them a call later that evening and was told that they needed more time and kept it another day which was fine with me. I went to pick it up expecting to pay more than the estimate because of the extra work but was told that I only owed the estimated amount even with the extra time and work. Now that is something you don't see every day, a business that stands behind their word and work and the truck looks like it came off the showroom floor at the dealership. I recommend Master Auto Body for all body work and will use them again in the future.”

“Stupidly drove the front bumper over a rebar sticking up in a parking lot. Went into reverse which created the problem of the front bumper being pulled away from the van. It is a Mercedes Metris camper and almost new. I paid out of pocket for the repair. I also asked them to install an after market brush style bumper, since all this front end work was being performed. The staff are great and extremely professional.
And the van looks new again!”

“Amazing service the guys are always super nice and very knowledgeable. I have used Harry's parts for my own vehicle repairs as well professionally with my own customers vehicles. They have been extremely reliable and allow me to offer customers a cheaper route (sometimes even a quicker fix instead of waiting for parts to be ordered and to come in).If you are mechaniclly inclined you xan remove parts you're self or they will do it for you for a small fee. I highly recommend them”

“Great experience getting new battery today. Told them what I was looking for, they even suggested that my current battery should be under warranty (which it was, but didn't want the hassle of dealing with the dealership). Christine was awesome. Old battery out, new battery installed, all told about 10 minutes. And when she was done with me, she offered to help some young men parked next to me who were trying to figure out where to put power steering fluid. Highly recommend!”

“No, there are no high tech machines or paint shops, just an owner who knows what he is doing and does it to perfection at significantly less cost than the high tech shops.

“Always straightforward and thats with pricing and prioritizing repairs. If you can get it done cheaper believe it or not, they will let you know. Better off going directly to the dealer?, believe it or not, they will let you know. Communicative staff and excellent customer service. If the staff member is not a mechanic they don't pretend to be and try to talk over your head. Honesty is a big thing in my book and this business has proven to be honest and loyal. I drive 40 minutes to Larry's because this is the only place I trust and Ive had negative experiences with other mechanics since moving to the area. They have worked on our Audi Q5 and our Mazda CX9 and will continue to work on any vehicle my family drives.Services: Auto brake replacement”

“I have been buying all my parts for the more than 20 vehicles I owned personally and my fleet of 6 work trucks for my business from Charlottesville NAPA Auto Parts for the last 22 years. James, Avery, Andy, Dennis, Danny, Neil, and a few others have always been extremely helpful, professional, and courteous, and have always gotten me my parts as quickly as possible. The times a mistake was made it was always resolved to my satisfaction. If they couldn't get me the part I needed for one of my classic cars they always had ideas or suggestions on where to look. If you get demanding or rude you're on your own. Treat these professionals with the respect they deserve and you will get fantastic service.”

“Stranded out of town in my 2023 MB with an electrical issue, I pulled into this dealership, which graciously loaned me a car for 24 hours to get home. The sales manager was the quintessence of graciousness, a reminder that when one doesn’t merely buy a car from MB, you become part of a family. Thank you Chris (and salesperson, Nick)! Buy a car here!”

“University Tire & Auto on Airport Road worked an absolute miracle for me. We’re from Detroit and were driving into town for a wedding when, just a mile-and-a-half from our hotel destination, a fire hose fell off the back of a fire truck and three of us behind it ran over a coupling and destroyed our rims. This occurred late on a Thursday afternoon. So early Friday morning I went to Malloy Ford to see if they could get me a new rim, and they weren’t able to get one until the next week. That didn’t work because I had to be back on the road to Detroit on Sunday…I had to testify in a trial on Monday, so I had no flexibility. They referred me to University Tire. I dropped the car off there, and the rim couldn’t be fixed, so they started checking around town for one. The closest rim available was at a junkyard 100 miles away, so they cheerfully went and got it and had my car done by the end of the day. Keith was amazing to work with…he understood our big predicament and worked like hell to help us out. I cannot say enough about Keith and his crew there, and offer my unconditional recommendation if you are considering them for service on your car.”

“I am a 3rd year college student attending UVA.

I just took my BMW to the dealership today for an upper radiator hose leak to be replaced. The labor to change the hose was $444. I talked to my father who owns a mechanic shop in the west coast, and he indicated to me the labor is .5 hrs to change the hose according to the UNIVERSAL MITCHELL PROGRAM, that is nationwide used by all mechanic shops.

I asked the service advisor what their hourly labor rate is; and she indicated $185 per hour. I told her this is a half an hour job, the labor should’ve been $92.50, not $444. She informed me that they go by the BMW rate of 2.4 HRS for a 30min job. I said “okay.” Then I found out that they charged me $33 for ONE gallon of concentrated BMW antifreeze, which in reality when mixed 50/50, it makes 2 gallons. Knowingly from what my father told me, by removing the upper radiator hose, it will probably take 1/2 a gallon to fill up the reservoir and radiator. I asked the service adviser, since I paid for 1 gallon, I want my 1/2 gallon back.

They looked for it in the shop and could not find it. (Since my dad is in the mechanic business, he informed me what probably happened was I paid for 1 GALLON, and the remaining 1/2 a gallon was used on someone else’s vehicle, and another customer paid $33 for the other 1/2 gallon. This is theft to customers.)

UPDATE as of 8/18/2024:

As you all know, a couple days ago I left a bad review for Charlottesville BMW. The following the day at approx 11:30am, Danielle Turner who is the service manager contacted me via text. She indicated she wanted to make it better for us. Since my father was with me, he talked to her and we made an appointment to speak with her in person. Prior to us going to see Ms. Turner my father contacted BMW Sacramento CA and BMW Bend OR.

It was brought to our attention that BMW does use their own BMW hourly rate book. However, both BMW from two different states informed us to change the upper radiator hose, it was only 1hr labor, not 2.4 like Ms. Turner indicated to us when the job was done. My father also contacted EuroMotive a local owned business in Charlottesville that specializes in European cars. They also said their labor rate is 1hr to change the upper radiator hose. Their labor rate is $139. BMW Charlottesville is $185.

Upon arrival to BMW Charlottesville, we sat in Ms. Turner’s office and my dad once again went over the MISC $50 dollar charge. Since the day we picked up the car, she indicated the misc charge was for cleaning supplies. Upon returning home we opened the hood and noticed all the antifreeze spilled was over the car. If I’m paying for so called “cleaning supplies” why wasn’t my engine bay cleaned? My father explained this issue to Ms. Turner. This time Ms. Turner indicated misc was for hazmat. My father said to her “we are going to agree to disagree, please reimburse my $50.” Ms. Turner did not hesitate to reimburse me the $50, furthermore she offered to have my engine bay cleaned. I declined to have the engine bay cleaned due to the fact the engine was hot, the cold water used to clean it would lead to a crack in my heads.

After informing Ms. Turner that not only 2 BMW dealerships who uses “BMW hourly rate” from two different states, and 1 local privately owned shop from Charlottesville that the labor was in fact 1hr.

Ms. Turner very professionally apologized and didn’t question my sayings, and was willing to refund the 1.4hr difference. Ms. Turner was very apologetic for the misunderstanding and she behaved in a very professional manner.

I highly recommend to any future customers that have their vehicle serviced at BMW Charlottesville to get their ducks in a row as far as costs for repair. If any discrepancy for those customers that have little automotive knowledge I highly recommend to speak with Ms. Turner because I felt she wants to do the right thing.

“I had an accident in March where I was side swiped. I brought my car to Flow Collision because I purchased my car at Flow VW and it is serviced at Flow VW. Just thought it would make sense to keep it all in house. My appointment was scheduled for May 7 after I brought my car down to get the initial estimate started. Jennifer was super nice and professional right off the bat and was during the whole process. Anytime you called the number they provided, BTW not the one provided online, she picked up….every time. I called before bringing in my car spoke to Jason he said it would be about a week. This is where the one star off my review happens. The 14th rolls around, no car. Gave it a day or so, i didn’t hear anything. I reach out to Jennifer and she says the 22nd. Jason texts me says waiting on a part. Ok well I’ve already scheduled a service appointment for the 17th so I’m like crap at this point. Jennifer and Jason accommodated my appointment and brought my car to service for me which was so helpful. Now the 22nd rolls around and no car and no follow up. I reach out a day or so later, another piece was found damaged in the rear. Ok no problem but a follow up would have been helpful. So now another week goes by and I’m like any updates? Jason says It’s in paint - ok great. Monday June 3rd is my new date. Monday comes no car, no follow up. Tuesday I reach out and now it’s my tire is being mounted and balanced. Ok yup definitely need the tire on there but again no follow up.It’s now June 6th I have my car which was delivered to my work 20 minutes away and it was cleaned inside and the work looks great ??Overall, I think they are overwhelmed BUT for me communication and a process of what’s going to happen and what you can expect when you bring your car here needs to be enforced because I’m going to tell you I pretty much pulled my hair out during this whole process as I’m sure they did too dealing with me. If I was just told that upfront, it will take some time, and quick follow-ups had been made, there would be no question of a 5 star review here. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt and they did accommodate my service appointment and delivered it and detailed inside. I really hope they can maybe get some help so there is a clearer understanding of the process for the customers because being without a car for so long and in my situation a month is really difficult and stressful. I also understand parts take time but from what it sounds like those aren’t ordered until the car is there which I had no idea of and was never made aware of. I can’t imagine if I had to rent a car or if I was a single parent this would be a nightmare. Hats off to you both and I appreciate you all fixing my car and going the extra mile when you could.I hope I can update my review with BBB, I do apologize for that, but in all fairness if I was just updated and the transparency was there, I wouldn’t have went on the BBB website. FLOW - please get your employees some help as this is not the only time I’ve experienced your employees being in this predicament. It’s not all about sales, lord knows y’all got enough people in sales because they are always contacting me for every single inquiry ? There's others here that’ll are not in sales that help make up your company. Kudos Jennifer and Jason ?”
