David Watkins is the epitome of a good 'ole boys attorney. I had a DUI in a small Virginia town and was going to bring in an attorney friend from Arlington, VA to represent me and boy, I wish I would have. I was told and I quote that it "upsets the small town court when you bring a 'city slicker' lawyer in". What are we in the 1940's? That is the LONE reason that I hired David. I am not even upset about the outcome, but moreso the incompetence of David in regards to guidelines with things from other states. David spent ZERO time realizing that there was a drastic error in the "point system" because of adjudicated matters from over a decade prior halfway across the country for driving under a suspended license. I explained to him COUNTLESS times that the calculation was wrong and rather than actually look into this, he merely agreed with the prosecution on the matter. I totally get that David is only licensed to practice law in Virginia, which is WHY I attempted (albeit unsuccessfully) to have other lawyer friends from Ohio and Virginia reach out to him on my behalf. No phone calls were ever returned and then David had the audacity to ask for more money to fix his own mistake. Buyer beware. Nice guy, but totally incompetent lawyer.
