I brought in my 2018 Chevy Traverse Premier for diagnostics and repair, specifically addressing concerns related to my vehicle's Catalytic Converter that Virginia Tire & Auto of South Riding had recently replaced only a few days earlier.A few days after picking up my car from Virginia Tire & Auto of South Riding my check engine light came on. I verified with my Chevrolet dealer that the code was related to the catalytic converter that Virginia Tire & Auto of South Riding had replaced only a few days earlier. Knowing the new catalytic converter was under warranty, I returned to Virginia Tire & Auto of South Riding to fix the problem.Upon the inspection, their staff told me that the code was relate to the other catalytic converter not replaced by them and that the other catalytic converter needed replacement. I informed them that from my research online and also verified by my dealership, that their diagnosis was not correct, and asserted that it was related to the catalytic converter they had recently replaced. I subsequently informed them I would pick the car up and bring it to the Chevrolet dealership for further diagnostic and repair. Upon my Arrival at Virginia Tire & Auto of South Riding, I was met by an individual that informed me they were the manager. From that conversation, it was abundantly clear to me that this was not a misdiagnosis related to poor training, but was an attempt to get me to pay $1,451.10 for a new unneeded catalytic converter after recently paying $2,265.11 to replace the right side catalytic converter.I have used Virginia tire and auto for well over a decade and will never use them again. I sent a much more detailed email to their main office and did not get a reply so I feel the need to write reviews online and to the BBB. There are many places you can bring your vehicle. I do not recommend bringing yours here. Their recent interactions with me have caused me to loose faith in them as a reputable honest business .

Had a very bad experience. Failed emissions, was told due to exhaust pipe which needs replacement. OK, was quoted $800+. Took it to another mechanic, got it replaced for $200. Failed emissions again, so when asked why, they said it could have been multiple issues. ( Couldn't they give me a complete and good diagnosis? ) They asked me to bring it and they will do another diagnosis for $150?? no thanks. Went to another mechanic and it seems it was a sensor issue which was replaced and passed emissions no issues. I have driving over 600 miles since then and no check engine light on. I think the exhaust pipe in the beginning was never an issue and they didn't do a good job in diagnosing the real root cause costing me valuable time and money. I would never go this place again. Anyone going to this place especially for inspection, please find another place as they will find ways to fail you so they can charge you for it.. I know lot of dealers do that and maybe that is this shop's strategy for more business.

Avoid going here!!! I am a very patient person but woohoo this place is terrible. They can’t even give a clear direction. Went in for inspection yesterday, they told me to park my car behind a truck in an inspection line. I waited in the car for 10minutes till went in and waited another 10 minutes for the girl, Adela, to get my information; after that another 15 minutes to finish the inspection, once they finished, she told me inspection got rejected for wheel bearing hub which they gave me a quote of $617???which is not true because I had my car at the dealership two weeks ago, and they have done full inspection on the car and told me the car is good. Literally wasted my time and wanted to charge for dishonest reason. Then waited another 7 minutes for Adela to finish the calls just to give me the key and pay for inspection. Avoid going to this place at any cost! like literally the worst customer service for taking so long and to reject inspection for untrue reason.

I've completely lost trust and confidence in Virginia Tire & Auto, especially this specific location. Today marks the last time I'll ever bring any of my vehicles to Virginia Tire & Auto. Frankly, I wouldn't even trust them to clean my car window at this point. Virginia Tire & Auto has caused damage to my vehicle on three separate occasions. My first bad experience with Virginia Tire & Auto occurred when they didn't properly secure my oil cap after an oil change, causing oil to spew all over my engine and engine bay. The second bad experience involved them breaking a clip on the driver's side side skirt. My most recent and final bad experience with Virginia Tire & Auto was today when I noticed they had broken my driver's side door handle while picking up my vehicle after a routine oil change and state inspection. The manager at this location, Melissa, seriously lacks customer service skills and could benefit from some coaching on how to treat customers. I also spoke with the shop manager, Hani, who assured me he would try to make things right. However, Hani has failed to follow through on his commitment to contact me as he said he would.

We do not recommend this place at all. We took our car in for the state inspection out of convenience, our car seemed to drive just fine, they noted that we needed an axel seal replaced and I just said sure, let's take care of it. Shortly after, the front of the car started to shake in a scary way, we thought maybe the brakes were going out so we took it to the closest place. We were told that the axel seal was not done properly and that everything wasn't tightened up, so our wheel was literally about to fall off and the mistake caused further damage to the hub and wheel bearing. We took it back to Virginia tire and auto with photos and they tried telling us multiple times that there was no damage and that they are sorry it wasn't tight but it is now. They also told us that they sealed it with RTV because it was so rusted and they had troubles with it (this was no relayed to us before and it should have been) They finally agreed to replace the wheel bearings after telling us multiple times there was no damage even though we had photos from the other place showing damage. They told us if the car has issues to bring it back because they warranty their work.We finally got the car back and a short time later the car started driving funny, like it was driving in neutral and not accelerating. They suspected the catalytic converter but couldn't diagnose it. We took it elsewhere and got the cat replaced. Once that was taken care of, it was still driving like something was wrong in the front so we took it back because of the warranty. They told me that they didn't hear the sound and that we need new tires but that it probably wouldn't solve what I thought I was hearing, and they told my husband that they did hear the sound and that they thought tires and realignment would resolve it. We got the tires done and got the call that the car was good to go and ready to pick up. Immediately after picking up I could tell something was very wrong and at this point we feel the warranty is worthless and we won't bring it back again. We have a baby and a toddler and don't feel that the car is safe to drive despite these guys saying "everything is good". It's evident that our car was not test driven because the issues are so immediately evident. We've put so much money into this car and have been running with one car for over a month now and it feels like they don't diagnose issues they just take a stab at what they think it could be and take your money, then keep you reeled in with their worthless warranty. Just don't go here.

It continues to be the same every location we have tried. Lack of attention to detail, carelessness in the way the work is performed, not following up on what they were supposed to do.If you are suppose to do an oil change and tire rotation, then do the tire rotation since we bought the tires there. No one gives a rats azz anymore.

Vehicle taken in for Interior AC leak, car kept 36 hours. :(. No updates first day, only second day after numerous calls with no updates. Facility made me feel abandoned with no concern for my needs, or common courtesy in keeping valued customer notified, hmm, maybe I wasn't valued after all.

Spilled oil all over the engine. In a previous change, they did not add oil. The car warning system said oil was dangerously low. Also for an engine coolant change quoted 234 parts 150 labor. Changed it only for 150 at Dynamic Auto. Classic robbers!!

Went for an inspection a couple of lights were out and one wasn’t leveled properly. Was quoted $400 to replace 2 lights and level them. My 10 yr old son and I changed the lights out in 30 minutes and leveled the low light by turning an easy to access screw 5 times to level it with the other light. They were trying to charge me $200 for the leveling service. If one light is good just turn the the other side to match it rather than trying to sell a $200 service like it’s a complicated task. The reason they received 2 stars and not 1, is a mechanic assisted me in finding the other burned out light I couldn’t find. We changed that in 15 minutes. When I failed the 2nd time they said bring it back tomorrow after you change the light and we will charge you the dollar re-inspection. Return for re-inspection the next day. These individuals went back and forth with my wife about it and told her it was $20 not the $1 they told me the previous day. Last time my family or I will use this place. Minus the female service person (sales woman) and the mechanic that assisted me, they seem to be out to take you for as much as they can, and they don’t stand by their word. Use someone else. They tried to charge me 3.5 hours for work I did in 45 minutes so they’d probably finish it in 20. Use another garage there are others near by I plan on trying.

Had Civic Hybrid oil change. Did not affix bottom engine cover right which fell down and got plenty of scraping on the road. On revisit, they simply put on wire tires instead of proper plastic retainer clips and refuse to replace the broken cover ($90) and asked us to write to the corporate HQ. So we did with photos, but got completely ignored.Avoid these unscrupulous folks like a plague.

I just picked up my Alfa Romeo from a simple tire change. When I picked up my car, I was told the alignment couldn't be done without am extra half hour of labor. They told me this after having the car for six hours and telling me I could pick it up at close. I called 40 minutes before close, and they made no mention of this issue. In fact, they assured me it would be done. If a half hour was the difference in getting this job done, they should've known hours before close. Now for the real issue. When I picked up the car, I immediately noticed a sticky substance on the door and a black scuff mark on the hood. I figured this was just some stuff from an extremely careless tech that I could wipe off when I got home.I get home, get the goo gone and detail spray with some microfibers and find that they left a series of scratch marks on the door where the sticky stuff was, and they actually damaged the ppf film on my hood. I've only had this car since September, and in October I got a full paint correction, ceramic coating, and front end PPF on the car. Only about 2000 miles have been put on since then. All this to say that this damage was absolutely NOT on the car when I dropped it off.The damage they caused that will require paint correction, as well as reapplication of PPF and ceramic coating, will cost more than the entire tire service. I'm absolutely furious.I've also reached out to their customer service three times with no response

Would give 0 stars if I could. I came in plain street clothes and I guess because I’m young they thought they could pull a fast one on me. I don’t look like it but I’m a diesel technician for a highway tractor fleet service. They failed my car for inspection for small issues like leaks. They claimed that my power steering was leaking (it was not). And that if I continued to drive with it like that “I would run out of fluid and lose all my steering on the highway.” This is not how this system works and steering always has a mechanical link. I would never lose steering due to low or no power steering fluid. THESE PEOPLE WILL LIE AND TRY TO SCAM YOU! I went to a different location the next day and was passed instantly. I told them what va tire and auto said and the man behind the desk completely agreed that it’s just a scummy buisness tactic.

Tim is a wealth of knowledge, be it a 65 Dodge transmission, or the tyres for a Ford works van rated for 50,000 miles. Very personable. Made my first time car owner daughter very welcome.Great service, quick, and very professional. Will certainly use them again for the full service.Well recommended ?

I went to Virginia Tire for the first time a couple of weeks ago to see what the experience would be like. I wasn't impressed.I had made an online appointment for a tire rotation for my truck, and I stated in the comments section that I also wanted a state inspection. When I arrived, I was told that those services would require two different inspectors and two different lines, and my truck would be ready in between 4 and 4-1/2 hours!Seriously? I had gotten an oil change and a state inspection at the dealership in less than 1-1/2 hours last year! I opted for just the tire rotation, which took an hour (and which, ironically, included a 25-point inspection). I then drove to nearby gas station for the state inspection. Total time, including driving, was about HALF of the Virginia Tire estimate.I also asked Virginia Tire for a price on four new Goodyear tires for my wife's car. The out-the-door estimate was $145 *MORE* than the price at JustTires. When I asked if Virginia Tire would match the price, they said they would match the tire price only, rather than the out-the door price -- which is, of course, the only price that matters. I bought the tires at JustTires and saved the $145.So what did I learn from my visit to Virginia Tire? Basically that I can save time AND save money by going elsewhere for tires and auto services.
