I’m an aspiring woodworker, a welder by trade. I went in with a project in mind and very little knowledge about woodworking and Daniel wasted no time helping me. He answered all my questions and asked me questions about what I wanted for my project to help narrow down what I needed and how I should go about making it happen. He planed the wood and made cuts with the jigsaw and was happy to work with me for almost 2 hours which just goes to show how much he cares about wood and the future of woodworking. The original founder of the shop was there too, Mr. Dunlap himself, a Vietnam war vet and wood enthusiast, which I thought was pretty cool. There was a pretty big and diverse selection to choose from as well. No, it isn’t the very cheapest lumber you can buy, but it’s so much more than a lumber supplier. Dunlap is where you go to find interesting, good wood at a fair price from people who love what they do.

I’ve been coming here for a couple years and you’ll find nothing but friendly staff willing to help you find the exact piece you may be looking for. They do a great job finding quality walnut, maple, oak, and many other species.

Wonderful customer service. This place is an absolute gem that I almost don’t want to tell anyone about being selfish. But Daniel and his staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and made my first trip there a great experience. I will be back.

Just finished getting wood from here for the first time at recommendation from my professor.Daniel and Elmer were kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to not only help me find wood that met my needs but wood that helped my piece of furniture aesthetically. They didn’t force me a certain but gave me options to think about and helped me see how the piece would come together.I went in thinking I was just buying enough wood for the project, and learned more. Daniel and his crew are incredibly helpful. They have extensive inventory (most is unmilled, but some milled - local and exotic - and lots of live edge stuff) and walked with me through the shop to find the perfect pieces. You can buy as is or let them mill it for you, for a completely reasonable fee. He’s also always happy to discuss your project and give you ideas on what might look best. I don’t think I’ve experienced better customer service anywhere! Thanks!
