My interior designer recommended Heather and her company for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. Heather designed the cabinet spaces beautifully. But some rooms worked out better than others. The bathroom cabinets were straight forward in the measurements. The cabinets arrived and the contractor installed them. They look great, with the exception of one vanity in one of the bathrooms that has a base trim piece that has been an issue. Heather has ordered 3 of this piece, and it's still not installed. She and the contractor said it was because my floor isn't level, but the 2nd and 3rd orders were ordered by Heather with full knowledge of the space issues related to this piece. iShe said the manufacturer made them wrong. It seems to be a miscommunication issue, and that's been a concern these last six months with the kitchen cabinets too--we're one year into the project and still waiting on cabinet doors for parts of kitchen). In the kitchen, Heather designed a beautiful island. Most of it is lovely, but due to a miscommunication with the installation carpenter, there is an unfinished hole above the cabinets on the stool side. It's disappointing to have brand new cabinets with open holes where I see the underside of mesh granite and play wood shims. Heather said she would fix this, but it has been six months and she still has not scheduled this, despite repeated requests by me and my designer. Also in the kitchen, there is a corner cabinet that Heather designed with an insert, but the insert arrived in a lot of parts (Heather said she's never seen an insert arrive like this and that it normally comes already assembled). Heather and the contractor could not get the insert assembled correctly. Additionally, the cabinet front is a mess--it has 3 drawers hooked together with visible gaps between them with different widths. It looks like an amateur mess, and it does not open/close all the way. Heather has said she agrees it's not correct, and is going to order the right parts to fix it, but she has been slow to get replacement parts to fix it. It has been at least 90 days and still waiting. I decided I wanted a basic shelf and drawer with a normal door for the space (less likely to run into any issues with parts or delays again), but she said she wants to put rolling inserts in the space. But as of today, I still have the broken insert with mismatched drawer fronts that don't open/close properly. At one point, there were supply chain issues and delays in getting cabinet parts, but supposedly those have resolved. But I still don't have the cabinet fixed. There are other cabinet doors and trim parts that have not arrived. I don't know why. The touch up kits were not on-site when the carpenter installed the cabinets so he couldn't fill nail holes or scapes. Heather is the one who is supposed to supply the touch up kits. She said she would schedule Furniture Medic to do these repairs but she delayed in scheduling (she's been saying she'd do this since December and it's now mid-March). When cabinet parts arrived to the shop, Heather had to deliver them in her own car. And it takes sometimes two weeks to get a response when I request updates from Heather. She is sweet and has designed beautiful spaces, and has said that she had a hard time with getting the right parts for my project. I'm not sure if the company needs to hire an assistant for her, if she has too many projects going at once, or if there is a different issue that I'm not privy to. So for basic stuff with basic colors and basic measurements it was an easy process. For the nuanced spaces, it has been a frustrating process. I have mixed feelings about recommending CKB.
