The work was fine, once complete. Simple project: remove front bumper cover, paint new bumper cover to match body color, reinstall cover and spoiler. From estimate to finished repairs took 8 weeks. Project manager didn’t communicate well regarding process, resulting in 3 week delay alone. Once parts were received, work took two weeks total. I received canned text ‘updates’ from my ‘service representative‘ but after the first promise date passed she could not tell me when the car might be ready. I overheard other customers with similar complaints whose paid-for rentals didn’t last long enough to get their cars fixed, leaving them stranded or out-of-pocket because of delays. I overheard another customer say the new bumper looked great but none of the proximity sensors worked after initial repairs where made. This shop has gone downhill in the past 3-4 years (unfortunately I’ve been a frequent customer). I’m going to think hard before I take more work there.Service: Painting

I wish that there is a 0.5 for review.Good things-Front desk communication is good.Horrible things- Nothing beyond the Front desk was a decent experience.The damage to the car could not be seen with out sleeping on the floor and seeing under the car for scratches. No scratches were visible on the car when I dropped off the car for Front bumper change. It was just a run over the curb incident. They got approval from insurance to repaint the doors which was absolutely not required. They did not even remove one small door ding saying it was not from incident but repainted the doors which absolutely had zero damage. They changed the rubber coverings on the door. They changed the rocker bracket which I had mentioned many times that it is a new one and does not need replacement. They said it broke while removing so had to replace it. I believe they charged lot more than what was required. I had left many messages to the front desk to talk to any one who can explain what is being done. They would not even send me the estimate they created for insurance upon multiple requests.The only chance I got to talk to anyone beyond the front desk was when I went to pick up the car. It was really frustrating.All in all I feel they did a lot more work than what was required without letting me know. They say it is company policy for every question I had. Some of the answers were so unacceptable and they would say it is company policy.I would not recommend any one to this place.Service: Body & Trim

STAY FAR AWAY FROM CHANTILLY AUTO BODY!Slow speed of service and lack of communication. You have to call them, repeatedly, to get any information.Also, they are not to be trusted. They missed the date that they communicated to the insurance company that was paying for the repairs and a car rental. I called and asked specifically about the rental coverage. I was told by their customer service rep that the rental would be extended and covered and "not to worry about it". They never communicated the extended date with the insurance company and in the end, the insurance company refused the pay for the extra days of rental coverage. The rental car company then billed me.Chantilly Auto Body refused to stand by what they promised to me. They set the original date with the insurance company, they missed the date, they promised me coverage, and they failed to confirm the extended rental. All of it was their fault. They refused to act with integrity and cover the cost of the rental.Finally, after the repair was done, they refused to release my car to be because they hadn't received final payment from the insurance company. Excuse me? You are holding my car because someone else owes you money? It wasn't even my insurance company. I had to argue with the manager and wait for him to get in contact with the insurance company.Be warned, this their standard practice. The manager acted like he did me a favor because he released my car when the insurance company still owed $60. He even told me that there were several cars in his shop for over a week that were waiting on payment from insurance companies.I don't know about you but I don't want to pay $50 per day for a rental car because Chantilly Auto Body is arguing with an insurance company.Terrible communication, no integrity, and absolutely obscene business practices.STAY AWAY!

Excellent results for my Lincoln Navigator Black Label. I was very worried getting small bumper damage repaired as the Chroma Crystal Blue paint was quite unique. However the technicians explained the updated paint matching process and assured me it will look brand new. Upon pick up I was very happy with the look and did in fact look brand new with 100% paint match of repaired bumper to the rest of the vehicleServices: Painting

I have been using Chantilly Auto, now CARSTAR for all my personal and business auto body repair needs for over 18 years. It is understood that I am a huge fan of this establishment. Their work is top notch, high-quality and has always exceeded my expectations. They keep me informed at every step of the project process, their staff from Ryan, Carol, “T” to my most recent service writer, Angus, are professional, technically competent, and a joy to work with. If I knew the names of the technicians that do such exemplary work, I would include them as well in this review. Their facilities are clean, well-organized, inviting, and businesslike. I never thought of going to any other body work shop in the area. They have had my business and loyalty and will continue to have that for years to come.Services: Painting

Had a horrible experience with getting our Tesla repaired. It took over a month for getting estimate for repair. Then waited another month them to order parts before I dropped of the car. After dropping of for repair The car was with them shop for another 2 months! Total of 5 months for a minor fender bender in the parking lot!They say it’s Tesla’s fault for the delay. But Tesla Insurance says the shop should know the process. Between the two it was a very frustrating process!

To be able to drop my car off and immediately get a rental car there on the spot was great. They kept me abreast on everything they was doing when it came to my vehicle. When I picked my car up it looked soooo good as if nothing had ever happened. The work has a life time guarantee. This place is worthy of my business and for me to share with others.

I had a disappointing experience with CARSTAR auto shop in Chantilly. Their lack of customer communication and involvement was extremely frustrating. Throughout the entire process, I felt like I was left in the dark, with little to no information provided. While it took me 2 months to finally get my vehicle done. I understand some of this falls on manufacturing but their lack of concern was disappointing. It was extremely hard reaching someone and I always felt like I was bothering them and they really didn't have any information or cared to show me I matter or my vehicle was in good hands. The damage was not so severe and it should not have taken that long.I did my research and found pros and cons from feedback and felt I would like to give them a chance. Boy was I wrong!What made matters worse was the hidden 3% fee they charged when using a debit or credit card. Not only did they fail to inform me of this additional cost upfront, but they also neglected to mention it "at any point" during our interactions.Overall, the lack of transparency and communication from this company left me thoroughly dissatisfied with their service. I would caution others to be wary of doing business with them.Funny thing is they asked me early on to review them before any interaction had happened, thank God I waited..Services: Painting

Overall satisfy. Bring my car 120 miles to this shop can take my car right in. Good service and good info updates. For Tesla owners when pickup your car , because shortages of parts, after month of repairs, 2 times reboot car computer can fix small issues. Recommended do camera recalibration in the setting, Do a test drive see is steering wheel centered when go straight. Ask for wheel alignment report. When I pick up my car loose parts under driver seat fixed, 38 psi tires pressure required 42 psi fixed, on my 119 miles trip home tesla lane departure avoidance features unavailable happened every time after restart fix by reboot computer 2 times and camera recalibrate. Noticed steering wheel slightly turns right when go straight and car shows wheel alignment recommend . Service mode shows offset 5.6° to the right to keep straight. Cannot drive 119 miles back to the shop so scheduled tesla store nearby for $275 wheel alignment. update will push to 9/18/2023 just add passenger side camera adjustment. Not pushed all the way in. There’s gap. Update: side camera adjust with no cost. 4 wheel alignment $275 at Tesla . To CARSTAR Chantilly Auto Body check again for all wheel alignment done right.

Overall experience was great. The team was responsive to all of my inquiries and they repaired my front bumper on my Tesla.After a week of driving I did notice that my AC isn't working properly and it wasn't an issue prior to bringing it in. Carstar Chantilly Auto Body was fantastic. I sustained a small dent in my fender and had their shop make the repair. They supplied a quote prior to repair and did not deviate after the work began. Communication with the body shop was constant and I was informed of the timetable as the work progressed. The staff was friendly and professional and I would recommend this body shop highly if you need any body work done on your vehicle.

Had to have repairs done from an accident. Insurance covered all repairs so I can't speak to the cost. But, the team was very professional and friendly! Repairs were thorough and relatively quick given the work done. The only negative is the 3% charge on the use of a card for charges of $1000 or more. That added a couple hundred more dollars to the bill. Would highly recommend they shop around for a card processor with a better rate or no rate.Service: Body & Trim

Worst place to take your car. They said 100% satisfaction guarantee but my car is not fixed properly. They left some patches and did not paint the damages properly. Car wheels are not aligned enough and steering is pulling out of the lane. Never go with Jose representative and he is the worst candidate to deal. He make fun of customers, bully you and doesn't listen to what customer says and over charges insurance. I will never go this place again and doesn't recommend to anyone else.Services: Tires

Hands down, this is the best autobody shop in the Chantilly area. The paint job is impeccable, you can't tell the difference from the new paint to the old paint. The staff is friendly. Ms. Tee at the front desk is excellent with customer service. We take all of our cars here.Service: Painting
