Typical overpriced museum gift shop. Also way too small, gets claustrophobic when busy.

When our plan to visit the Air & Space Museum on the National Mall fell through because we didn't realize we needed a ticket, we found this museum and it did not disappoint. The gift shop had a great variety of fun gifts and the museum itself was fascinating and had a mellow vide. Our party of 7, ages 12-67, were all pleased and it was a relaxing way to end our vacation.

So incredible!! This is truly the evolution of air and space travel all under one roof! From the earliest air ships, to balloons, to the Space Shuttle Discovery! I could spend many hours there reading all the information and looking at everything. Absolutely worth whatever it takes for you to go see!

One of the best.Plusses:Other than $15 parking, it's free.Museum is massive, with so much to see and take in, but well designed and traffic inside moves well.Enola Gay, Space Shuttle, and Concorde are among the many amazing things to see.Minuses:Food. The government authorized monopoly restaurant moves very slowly, is overpriced and mediocre at best. Outside food is not allowed inside, but if the weather is good, bring a lunch and eat outdoors.Imax. The theater is amazing but the online listing of movies now showing is terrible! They list tons of movies that are not actually scheduled to show. Makes no sense. Apparently a "now showing" and "coming soon" is beyond the intellectual capabilities of the theater managers. Only government could be so dumb.

It's currently free to enter, but you must pay $15 for parking. They have quite the collection! Highlights are the Enola Gay B-29 Superfortress bomber, Discovery space shuttle, Concorde, and even a SR-71 Blackbird!. I suggest taking a peak at the workshop back of the museum where they restore aircraft. Saw a P-51 Mustang, B-26 Maurauder, and a German Messerschmitt Bf 109 being restored. They also have an Imax theather and gift shop. If you're a fan of Aviation or World War 2 aviation like me, I think you will enjoy this museum.

Plenty of items relative to the museum, especially if you're looking for miniatures of some of the airplanes you see in the museum. They even have some branded toys like Lego. You can also find some clothing, and even keychains and other possible souvenirs to satisfy your trip. The staff are polite and professional. They are following current Covid guidelines. Recommended.

This is the museum that is out by Dulles (Virginia) not in DC. It’s basically a huge hanger filled with lots of airplanes and space shuttle Discovery. While it’s a really cool museum, it’s hard to spend the day there. There just isn’t enough to do. Younger kids (4&6) were bored after about 1.5 hours. The discovery stations with people explaining things were great for kids. I wish there were more of those and more interactive exhibits. There are quite a few extras you can pay for at this museum like simulators and imax. Parking is ample and costs $15. Like the rest of the Smithsonian the museum itself is free.
