Best place to take your pet. They really care about your pet as you would. I Highly recommend them. I won't take my pets anywhere else. All of my pets go to VCA.

The entire staff here are very caring and thoughtful. Every visit they have taken the time to consider the special needs of both my cats. I highly recommend VCA for anyone looking for the best care for their pet family.

i've never had a bad experience before i brought my new addition into VCA Centreville. i brought in a new kitten (keep in mind i work in vetmed) for a wellness exam. he had an URI, +/- ear infection and presented for a wellness exam. i brought my nine week old kitten in for an exam/general wellness. as someone who actively works in vetmed, i expect the same treatment i would give a kitten: space, respect, and a general sense of security. i understand not all kittens want attention or want to be picked up. give the animal space. i had a tech/assistant (not 100% sure) pick my kitten up while he was obviously distressed and he swatted her in the face which is completely unusual. please, give kittens some space, don't pick them up if you don't know their history, and listen to the body language of your patients. you're a primary care facility, give my animal space and time to open up. please dont immediately reach to grab him and expect kisses. he's too young and doesn't like being held yet. if he tells you no the first time, you LISTEN. i've worked in er, exotic practices, and speciality practice - LISTEN to your patients! not all of them want to be held and not all of them want to be pet. if they're telling you they're uncomfortable, you LISTEN - not grab them and expect a happy response from a deaf kitten. please don't immediately scoop up a kitten without knowing their background.

Staff is always courteous and helpful, and the vets are well-informed and patient with us and our dog. Plus, there are locations coast-to-coast, so traveling is not worrisome - we have confidence we can get good care just about anywhere. Highly recommend!

Yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life as we had to say goodbye to our 17 year old lab. Although this was just our second visit to VCA in Centreville, the staff, from the front desk to the Vet had so much concern, compassion and sympathy for us and Buster. They explained everything that would happen and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye to our sweet Buster. I can't even find the words to express my gratitude for thier kindness. I highly recommend VCA! They made an impossibility heartbreaking day a little easier.

Best veterinary clinic I have been to! I have a 15lb miniature pinscher mix with super high vet anxiety and stranger phobia. Dr. Nichol and her staff have always been so incredibly patient, always flexible on how to best treat him and give wonderful care despite his behavior. It is very clear how much they love animals and for a nervous dog parent, this means the world. Additionally, they are extremely transparent on pricing and honest in their practice. I have very high standards for pet care and despite my dog being challenging to deal with, VCA Centreville always exceeds my expectations. I am incredibly thankful I found Dr. Nichol and her staff to care for Buster.

This is the second time I'm posting a review because I strongly feel more exposure is warranted.Dr. Hart at VCA has achieved the impossible, as she has changed what a "trip to the vet" entails in perception and experience. At a net cap of $62.2 billion closing 2022, veterinary services I feel have cemented a reputation whereby the fear of the unknown in an animal unable to speak for itself has become the choice tool in extracting serious capital from the owner's wallet- many times with mediocre results and a tail between the legs on exit. It has been our past experience that most vets will complement a given diagnosis with speculation of the worst from the get-go. Throw in an extreme sense of urgency whereby conclusions are drawn early under duress and initial checkout becomes perceived as potential for being your pet's last.Relievedly and in so many words, NOT anymore.I'm wholeheartedly ecstatic to report this disease plaguing the industry is anything but present at Centerville VCA; enter a team of friendly animal lovers supporting a doctor that -and I mean this- genuinely cares about outcome over profit. Dr. Hart assumes an optimistic initiative with each and every visit and is always patient to determine options, budget friendly where possible. She is conscious of our cat's true needs while simultaneously maintaining clear communication paced and delivered in a manner that an easily-worried couple can absorb and understand. It's clear on every visit her extensive experience stemming from a long career of ensuring wellbeing for our furry friends is fully employed to the highest extent. There is nothing whatsoever in her actions or conclusions that come off expeditious or dismissive. At the end of the day we are able to rest assured our little loved one is receiving top shelf care from industry leading doctors, complemented by a staff who clearly aspire to the same. We've even received check-in calls at home when said Kitty was a little under the weather. This is a standing ovation. In spades. The reality of locating such care and compassion in pet services may have fallen victim to needle-in-haystack, but the exception to that rule is alive and well here. I hope upper management considers our journey to the top and truly takes a page from Dr. Hart and her practices. Her and her team have redefined the paradigm for pet care as a whole.Thank you, VCA. You truly don't know what you have.

They provide professional service and are super friendly. They were also very communicative. However they are a noticeably more expensive than competitors in the area.

Been with VCA since 1997. The entire staff is outstanding. All three of our dogs live going there and get excited when we say we are going to see Dr Taylor or Dr. Pollock or any of the staff.

We have been taking our cats here for a number of years, and generally speaking I have no issues with the quality of care by most of the vets. Cost, however, has increasingly become a problem at this veterinary hospital.Drs. Nichol, Vanderhoof and Hart are all great. Front desk and techs are all friendly and helpful, the use of the app to see records and the fact that (same-day) appointments are pretty easy to get (especially now the pandemic crunch has eased) are all pros. The facility is nice, clean, and the separate cat and dog rooms help reduce stress. I live within 10 minutes, which is also great for ease of access.Only with one other vet have I had an issue where he seemed extremely unconcerned when I had a cat who lost several (~3-4) pounds within the space of two weeks with no discernible cause other than a decline of appetite. Maybe I was especially sensitive having lost two others only a few months earlier to cancer and sudden kidney failure, but I felt there was a total lack of urgency on his part to figure out the root cause and stop the sudden decline (the cat did make a recovery). My biggest issue with VCA Centreville, however, is cost. I don't know if it became more significant of a factor once the practice was taken over by VCA a few years ago, but it has become especially egregious the past few years. Diagnostics and surgeries are exceedingly expensive, definitely get a quote before you do anything! I got quotes for neutering two kittens, and was quoted well over $600 per cat. I ultimately had that done elsewhere and spent $600 for both together. Likewise I have had diagnostics such as ultrasound, radiographs and lab work done elsewhere at far lower cost, after having spent an arm and a leg doing it here. Medications are often cheaper if you can get them from Chewy, but the trade-off is that you have to wait on delivery. This year alone costs have risen significantly here, *again*. I realize there are some mitigating factors, between pandemic/supply chain/inflation, but between this and last year's annual check up, the cost of a rabies vaccine went up 35% from $40 to $54, blood/urine/fecal panel up 25% from $268 to $334, and the office visit itself is up 17.5% from $80 to almost $95. I got one vaccine less than last year, and spent over $90 more on the whole visit, which came in at just under $500... and this was just a wellness visit. Meanwhile they recommend coming back in six months for another senior wellness check up. While that likely wouldn't involve lab work, it would add at least another $90 to the running annual total.I took another cat elsewhere for his senior wellness and lab work and rabies shot, and spent about $175 less.I don't begrudge a business making money, we all need to make a living, and owning a pet is a responsibility that comes with known and sometimes unexpected financial expenses, but it also shouldn't feel like pet ownership has become a total luxury.
