I wish I could leave zero stars!
I have never been so disappointed with a business and manager of a business. The sales person (Mike) that I worked with was awesome! BUT the manager (Surender Bhatia) ended up taking over mid way through and also completed the sale.
I had purchased the mattress but Surender they told me they were “out” of the free promotional adjustable base (it would not be available for almost 3 weeks) but he would give me a much better base that was like $1000 but could give it to me for “only” $700 more… Or he could give me the next model down for “only” $500 more, etc. This went on and on for a while, sadly.
I told him I needed the bed and base within the next week and if they were out of the “free” base, then I was just going to try one of the other mattress places nearby, and I thanked him for his time. But then Surender Bhatia said no and that he could work something better for me… and he spent the next 45 minutes calling a “district manager”or his “boss” to get me a “code” and approval for an upgraded adjustable base so that he could complete the sale.
So with what I thought, wow..what a great gesture. So I agreed i’d purchase the bed with the free upgraded base from him. After completing the sale, the manager Surrender Bhatia directed me to scan a QR code on his desk and give him 5 stars and to write a great review for him. (Which I did at the time, since he seemingly upgraded my order and went so out of his way to make it happen — Or so I was mislead to think).
Now I suspect all the 5 star glowing reviews for this manager, are because he request the reviews BEFORE you take delivery and everything is done, but instead he request the review during the sales process and probably some people don’t bother with changing thier reviews later when there is an issue.
Fast forward to today when my bed and base were delivered and the base was not the upgraded base he kept me in the store 45 minutes “working to get me” that he promised… but was instead just the free standard base! I was going to refused delivery but i needed the bed and I figured they could send the correct base and just swap it later. Well I call the mattress warehouse and I can not get an answer from the manager. Since the store is right around the corner, I swing in thinking can just clear this up quick..
Well this is when the manager Surrender Bhatia doesn’t seem to remember any of this and unfortunately the sales person Mike (who was great) was not in today to verify all this.
The manager then argues with me and tells me he won’t do anything and if I don’t like it return it. He then proceeds to leave me for a customer or delivery person and says that the conversation is over.
I now see why he has people write a review immediately while in the store and not after delivery is done. Because sometimes he sells you one thing and you get delivered another.
The disrespect and dismissive attitude was just ashame. I promise, i’m just regular guy, not a “Karen”. I simply took the time to write this much detail as to just stop others from maybe getting scammed. But again, the issue was not with my sales person “Mike”, he was awesome to work with and gave me a great deal. It simply was once the manager Surrender Bhatia took over and started upselling me bases and calling other “managers” to get me fake approval on a upgraded base that obviously was not true. It was all a 45 minute song and dance just to get me to agree to a sale and not leave the store. He took the chance that once I received everything, that I would not return it all (because I need it). I do wonder if this is a common thing with this guy.
I really hope this is just something that happens with this particular manager at this particular store (and that it’s not something that happens at all the mattress warehouse locations) BUT if you do choose to go to this mattress warehou
