Staff member said they stop accepting buys at 4pm, but website says till 7pm and the door says till 6pm. Neither staff member apologized to me about this situation when they refused to accept the buy when I put in all the effort into laying the items in bins and packing my car. I wanted to be able to get store credit to buy bigger sizes for my child. It's disrespectful to my time as a working parent to not have this communicated to me when I had to leave work early to drop off the clothes on a weekday and your only going to let people drop off clothes to be sold Monday-Friday before 4??

It was so hectic bringing my toddler in with me! I needed to go because I needed to get some things for not only my toddler, but my other three children and this place is an amazing option for a single income family. It has a variety of sizes and styles. There’s something here for the whole family they have toys they have clothes they have shoes they have diaper bags they have cribs they have changing tables. They have car seats strollers Chairs they have bedding and winter jackets , rain boots, helmets and pads and they even had cleats and dancing shoes for those who have kids in sports they have so much more than I listed but this is a example. Anyways, it was a hectic day for me and I knew that I needed to go in there. My husband was at work and he gets off at 2:30 and I went in at about one knowing that I was about 10 minutes away from his job I decided to go ahead in thinking I had plenty of time to get to him in time. However, my toddler(2) had different plans. He was very tired and cranky. It was naptime. I knew it would be difficult but I had no idea what I was getting myself into. He loved the little door on the outside that is for the kids only to go in which is a nice touch and it makes kids feel welcome to continue going in and out and out and out of the door and I needed to get along with my shopping. He threw a tantrum, kick his shoes off with screaming and crying, climbing on things just not really letting me get things done. I was trying to hold him, but he is very determined little toddler and he’s very strong capabilities of getting out of my grips are very easy, especially when I have my hands full I was trying to coax him to the back of the store where the toys were to show him those really quickly and maybe give him one to hold and play with well that didn’t work either, because then he wanted to stay back there with the toys instead of buying one. He didn’t understand that we could bring them home if we bought them and so it made it very difficult. There was a lady who worked there who was very helpful in helping me she got my son to play cars with her and they were playing in the back area with the toys and she even included him in helping to get rid of the toys that were broken that no longer needed to be on the shelves. This made him feel very important, and it was nice to see that there are people who will help when you need it , I am very grateful to this lady and unfortunately I did not know the name, but the Centerville kid is my new favourite place to go, and if you are a single mom or a mom who is just out with the younger kids In the day, it’s gonna be For you Togo because they are very willing to help! Thank you lady from kid2kid! We will definitely be back!!

Absolutely love this store! I went to one in Austin, TX and so happy to see they have one in Northern Virginia. I went in looking for snow boots and shoes so my son and they had a good selecting especially considering it was winter time already. I even found cute holiday shirts which was a total bonus. Great selection! Cant wait to go back! Looking forward to consigning some items there too as well. I would highly recommend selling any gently used items your kids or grandkids have outgrown there. And going here first before buying brand new.

The lady in the store was super helpful. When I asked her about a car seat base if I could return it if it didn’t work with the car seat I had. The base for the car seat was inexpensive.

I have waited to come here, and I'm not impressed. Once upon a child is a much more reliable brand. The clothes here did not appear to be only gently used, not that many books or toys, and prices are more than I'd expect, especially for worn clothes. I walked out with nothing. Also I was never greeted or acknowledged while in the store. I Will not be back.

I went to sell today and shop for winter clothes for my daughters. Unfortunately, the store was bare bones. I came last fall as well and it was the same experience. The quality of the clothes/shoes are not in excellent condition and the style of clothing is so outdated. Winter clothes are being taken, but summer dresses were on the racks. They took a good amount of quality clothes I brought in and offered me $30 bucks. What a bummer.

I had been looking for a place like this for a while so I decided to make the drive and check it out. Where I used to live we had a similar store "Once Upon A Child" and I was always able to find good quality clothes at low prices and get good prices for my buys so I was comparing to that. Detailing my experiences with different aspects of this store below:* Service: I noticed a lot of negative reviews about a specific associate and I believe I know who it was after my visit. One person working had a slightly condescending tone and attitude. It may just be her personality, but the other associate was extremely nice, almost like she was trying to make up for the other. * Store/Location: the store itself was pretty dark and stuffy - some ventilation and presentation could go a long way. * Selection: I found the selection (boys anyway) to be just okay. It was lacking in quantity but even more so in quality. I noticed quite a few items, specifically tops, looked pretty worn.* Value: I may have been spoiled by my previous consignment store but I found the prices here to be way too high. I saw a pair of Cat & Jack shorts I just got brand new on clearance for $3.50 priced at $9.99 used. There were a lot of tees and shorts/sweats overpriced. I found a pair of pocketless shorts my son needs for sports and even with a few strings hanging off and the inside tag worn off they were priced at $4.99. I got four items for about $25. * Selling/Buys: I brought in a large tote of toddler clothing, the majority being in great condition because my youngest is a homebody. I may bring in some toys, movies, books, etc in the future after seeing what they buy. They took maybe 1/4-1/3 and I was surprised by the amount of in-season and great condition items they didn't take, especially given the small and iffy quality selection I saw in store. It may just be that they didn't have a lot of time or didn't feel like going through the entire thing. I wanted to get rid of what I could so I took what was offered and hopefully I can yard sale the rest of bring back summer season items in the spring. Over all I would say I would return to this location if I was on the area, wanted to check for something specific or had more to sell that I wanted gone. Whether you're looking to buy or sell I would just go in with expectations on the low end and see what happens.

Came here with my wife to sell baby clothes just to be told that they aren’t taking those specific sizes. It’s ridiculous that their website says they take from newborn and up just to be told once we get there that they aren’t accepting. I think the workers are just being lazy and don’t want to go through the clothes. If you guys aren’t accepting a certain size, then update your website to reflect that.
