Catawba Grocery is a great little convenience store and gas station, perfect for hikers before hitting the trail or The Appalachian Trail. It is a very convenient stop with a nice selection of items, from last-minute water and Gatorade to single portions and bulk items. The store is clean, well-organized, and has a clean restroom. They also have a pizza shop selling Hunt Bros. Pizza, which is highly recommended, and a lunch special featuring a monstrous BBQ sandwich that is called the best from a gas station. The people working there are described as very nice and friendly. It is a good place to stop and support this hometown business.

Great little convenience store at the foot of the dragons tooth trailhead. Great place to stop off and get last minute water, Gatorade, etc. Seems they have a pizza shop in there as well, but nothing prepared when I was there. Very nice woman behind the counter.
