Bobby Behrend is the owner/operator of this company. We hired Bobby in May 2022 to do a variety of updates to our home before we moved into it.Per our contract, work was expected to be completed in June 2022. At first Bobby was professional and his crew was moving at a nice pace with solid work. Then, out of nowhere, Bobby’s crew stopped work and Bobby could not be reached for three to four months. While I understand that life events do arise, I was disappointed in the complete absence of communication and delays during this period. Ultimately we had to move into our partially renovated home before work was complete, and without any idea if Bobby would be completing our project.Eventually, Bobby did resume communication and work on our project. However our project experienced further delays due to windows being ordered with the wrong dimensions. Ultimately our project was not fully completed until February 2023...nearly nine months late. Bobby provided labor for several small projects around our house at no cost to make up for the delays, but ultimately the delayed project caused a lot of unnecessary stress as we juggled moving into a new home.While I appreciate Bobby's efforts to eventually complete our project, I can't recommend his services to others based on my personal experience.Service: Remodeling

Bobby helped us update our condo to prepare it for renting. He installed new hardflooring, painted the walls, and updated finishing touches such lighting, blinds, and thermostat. The apartment looked great. Bobby was easy to communicate with and very responsive. He worked with us to choose materials we liked but also within our budget. Whenever we asked him to do additional work, he was happy to do so without charging us an arm and a leg.He worked quickly so we could list our apartment quickly. Bobby also takes care of his clients after a contract is done. Whenever we need other work done quickly, he responds and is willing to help. We are grateful that he values maintaining an ongoing relationship.We are happy to recommend his services to anyone looking to update their homes quickly, confidently, and at a reasonable cost.Services: Install flooring

I can't say enough positive things about Bobby and the team at House to Home! My husband and I purchased our first home in DC, and after getting various quotes from companies in the area, we couldn't beat the price they gave us. In addition, the quality was great- Bobby and his guys did a fantastic job in our home and were always on time, responsive, and worked quickly. This renovation occurred during COVID and they also made us feel safe whenever we'd visit the site. The team even went out of their way to do a few small additional projects for us-- stuff that took them 5 min but would have taken us hours! It really made us feel like they valued our business and wanted our house to feel like a home. They did such a great job, we have already referred House to Home to family members in the area who have also used them and been pleased with the results.Again, I can't recommend from House to Home enough. Bobby always kept in close contact with us, walked us through the process in a transparent way, and never made us feel bothersome or annoying when we had questions or little changes. We used them to install a brand new HVAC system/ducting, restore and replace hardwood floors, and gut/totally remodel a full bathroom. Over the summer we had Bobby and his crew redo our deck. We couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out. The project was completed in a timely manner, within our budget, and (most importantly) it is absolutely gorgeous. They turned our deck into an incredible space we love and use almost everyday!

Bobby and his crew did an awesome job helping us replace drywall, baseboards, and subfloors after water damage. He also helped my husband place a French drain to help prevent future leaks. His team was prompt, professional, and did great quality work. We already have another project in the works with this team and are confident it will be awesome!

I cannot say enough about this company. I had my reservations about contractors in general because so many of my friends told me that they are usually impossible to get a hold of. Bobby got back to me promptly and finished the job when I was told that it would get done. In terms of the quality of the job, I would give it an A+! Bobby went above and beyond what was required of him and I am very impressed by his professionalism and the quality of work his company did for my house. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a contractor!

My experience with House to Home has been outstanding. The employee's are professional , finish assignments quickly and arenon-disruptive which is key for those of us working from home.The service offerings are vast; I had my roof replaced; fence replaced; window work and outside pipes repaired. Each time the results were the same - Great price and Quality work. Completed a complete home remodel for our investment property. The project was the biggest we had done and the results were amazing. From framing through the finish product House to Home did beautiful work and we sold the house within a week of listing. Bobby and his team are amazing and we will be doing many projects with them in the future!!!!

I selected this company in Sept 2018, to handle an insurance claim for water damage to my 2 bedroom single family home in Washington DC. The owner initially reflected professionalism and the assurance of a dramatic transformation as better than before. That quickly changed and it turned into a complete disaster 7 months later, not sure if he contracted work out but it became evident that they were not regular employees. Work was being done once or twice a week after the first month My kitchen was completely gutted and when they put it back together it was discovered 1. The sink and garbage disposal was not connected causing additional water damage to basement areas, which took them an additional 2-3 weeks to connect. (Even though I expressed concern several times via phone messages and text which continued to go unanswered) 2. Had to hire plumber to correct replacing water pipes in basement reason turning on disposal causes standing water to overflow in basement. 3. Flooring requested additional funds to replace sub floor prior to installing new vinyl flooring. I discovered missing pieces and what appeared to be the original sub floor boards, after further inspection by the owner it was determined the sub floor was never replaced and new vinyl tile was merely placed over the old tile. The same for the upstairs bath. 4. Not being informed as promised regarding fixtures, carpet or any other changes nothing from before was reinstalled light fixtures, crown molding or replacement of wood flooring, baseboards, trim etc. 5. Walls not prepped for paint peeling plaster visible throughout home 6. Furniture damaged with paint no care taken to ensure care to anything dinning,living room , basement furniture had to be replaced. Owner indicated those workers were fired (Damage already done, obviously proper supervision not in place as stated) 7. Required installation of vanity in upstairs bath, workers proceeded to paint walls without replacing new vanity (replace following week) 8. Kitchen outlets placed directly in front if kitchen sink took another 2 weeks to get it right 9.relocating light fixtures from 1st floor to basement stairs - several holes to the upstairs hall to reinstall previous light fixture location (nothing to do with water damage) I shared the insurance adjusters assessment for repairs and was promised to be kept informed of any changes. Decision for any changes were made with no communication with me. Workers left drinks and trash throughout my home WHEN they were there Claim included cost of dumpster for debris removal, never used. Debris was thrown and piled up in backyard encrouching on the driveway. Manually removed periodically when I complained. As you can see this job definitely did not go well. Even though the tenants living there were not there during work hours. Any problems seen and unseen were blamed on there existence. I will also attempt to post pictures taken of aforementioned problems. Lesson Learned Make sure workers are insured and bonded Work completed as promised-no short cuts Check Check and double Check, it will save headaches later This was worse than buying car from a shady sales person I am a senior recovering from a femur break at the time told him of a previous encounter years before with another contractor - he was so nice and assuring a top notch experience - Total disappointment Prayfully this won't happen to some one else If you don't protect what's yours no one else will

Unfortunately we also had a poor experience with this contractor and now wish we would have read yelp prior to using this company. Much like the prior review, we are very disappointed in how things turned out, and since it appears to be a pattern we felt it would be helpful for others to be aware if they are considering using this company. We haven't had the best experiences with contractors thus far and shared these things with the manager/owner of this company and were initially impressed by his perceived professionalism and responsiveness; not to mention he assured us of the work being completed in time for people moving in. Basically, there were quite a few excuses for work not being completed on time, for workers not showing up as planned, and for much of the work not being complete by the time people were moving in. My husband and I literally had to help the subcontractors clean and get the space ready on the final day because there were many things left to be done as we had people moving in. Communication with the owner was pretty bad and he wasn't responsive to multiple calls, texts, and emails until it came time to be paid for the work-much of which was incomplete and it took a lot to take off money for things that were not done well or at all. Overall, I would sadly not recommend you use this contractor if you have other options.
