Im a private jeweler and had a client project I was working on and needed photography experts to help me complete my project. I can’t say enough good things about District Camera, Burke. Every staff member went above and beyond for my project. I had a difficult project for a client-and the team in Burke, as well as some of the DC team members-worked together to complete my photo project-in record time-and with quality that I couldn’t have imagined.

Dangerously good customer service; I came in for a bag insert and left with some extra glass.Knowledgeable staff, but inventory can be limited just from space limitations and the amount of shoppers who come through.

This place is amazing, The staff is so professional and they know everything, and go above and beyond to help out even over the phone or in person!Those people are trying to help in any possible way and they are there to give advice and explain everything not just to sell a product! They care about the customer!Thank you guys just keep it that way!!!

Great experience. The sales lady did not rush us and was very helpful. The intention was to only look at cameras, but we ended up buying a Nikon 6S body and lenses adapter.

So glad this place is around! I'm just getting into photography (film specifically) and every time I come here with a question or looking for something they always go above and beyond to help.Recently I went in looking for something a bit nicer than my Canon point and shoot and David must've spent close to an hour looking at and helping me pick a camera well suited for what I wanted (ended up with a vintage Yashica). The camera hadn't yet been tested but David and Ramona helped me set it up and clean it in store and once we knew it worked they helped me pick film and a strap for it.I've come here multiple times to develop film as well and they've always been timely and responsive about the process.Really love this place!

Last Saturday, I went with my wife who they helped immediately and spent a long time answering all her detailed questions, she spent $3k there. I also needed help and waited patiently for help, asking from the beginning and periodically after that. The man helping my wife asked the lady there to help me so she finally did for just a few minutes. I needed help with on which camera to buy, serious about spending minimum of $1k up to $2k looking at high end bridge cameras only. She helped me for a few minutes then asked to help a new customer who just walked in (I had already been there over a half hour by then). She helped him then another and another. I nicely asked when she would help me again and she said only two of us so I will once others handled, she spent more time with each of them than she had me and I not sure they spent any money. Then 3 young girls cam in and she spent tons of time with and they spent next to nothing. Now going on an hour later, I said something again and asked the man helping my wife to help me when done and the women said yeah he needs such and such answered. Then another worker came out from the back to help new customers, so she lied about two workers. I finally got help from my wife's guy, but asked if I could order via phone later and he said yes. Having decided, I called last night at 6:45pm, asking for and talked to my wife's guy, just to verify they had the camera in stock, plus the accessories I needed and how long to ship. I told him I didn't want to keep him past closing at 7pm, so I would call earlier tomorrow and he was thankful. I called after work today, Thursday, and they told me my wife's guy was not working till Saturday and that they can't sell a camera to me over phone. I explained that I was in last Saturday and my wife bought a camera and I was told I could call it in. The guy said I'll ask, after waiting long on hold he came back and said someone would call me back in 15 minutes to take my order, so I gave my name and phone number. That was over an hour ago and now they are closed. I have never felt discriminated against like this before, but I don't know what else it could be.

Wish all businesses followed the principles of District Camera in DC; 2 young men very helpful to me with a question on a camera I didn't buy, and there was no charge, just excellent customer service, these people are very professional and helpful. Certainly the younger staff were friendly that I experienced.

Burke Location | "Prefer to shop local....but this past experience did not help."Although I do all my product research online, I prefer to shop and support local business if all possible. I went to the Burke store to purchase a Leica m11 EVF. The lady was very nice and helpful. Apparently they only have one unopened unit in stock. A guy from the backroom came out and said if he were to open it for me do I have the intention to buy it or just want to take a look and buy it from online anyway. Since it is a local business I totally understand its concern or constraint. Given it was my first time visit I can only assume the comment was based on his previous experience and not necessary on me as an individual. However, I don't know whether it was his tone or how he said it, I found it unprofessionally and rude. He could have approached this differently but don't think he even tried.The whole interaction took about 2 minutes and I did make the purchase and left. I came with the sole intention of supporting local business and I did (even with the DC Leica store is about the same distance from where I live).The 3-star rating is for continuing to support local businesses in general and to the nice lady. However, I don't think I will go back to this store again given this experience.

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff,(talented too!) especially for film. I genuinely appreciate staff that want the best for the person. Even recommending other imaging labs locally to develop slide film (they only develop BW and color). Keeping business in the community and helping me out today was greatly appreciated.

Today was my first day visiting here, while I did not intend on going in to sell or purchase anything I'd just never seen the store before. I feel like they made me a very good offer on my secondary camera, which was a Nikon Z5 and I decided to trade that in and get a new lens. If you go in understanding that they need to make money off of your gear to stay in business themselves; you see how fair of a trade it is. I feel like I got a very good deal for a lens I've been looking for for a while. I appreciate how open and honest and transparent they were while still trying to maintain their business and turn a profit which every business needs. While it was my first time here it will not be my last. I highly enjoyed the shop and I will be back thank you everyone for how much you helped me today and I look forward to being there again.
