Everyone here is caring, kind, and wants what is best for pets! We always feel like they care and listen - and this doesn't happen everywhere. They send cards to our dogs and check up on them after shots or treatments. A truly wonderful place!

False advertising on the listed hours of operation, please update them or provide caveats. This clinic is currently on the list of providers for a free vet exam within 30 days of adopting a pet at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. You cannot schedule an appointment until you complete new client forms online. You must then provide the clinic with the adoption packet/records from the shelter. Only after the records are received, are *you* then instructed to call the clinic to schedule the initial visit. I did what was required, called, and was told that the latest available appointment on any Monday to Friday was 4pm and that the clinic wasn’t consistently open on Saturdays. When it is open, I was told that the Saturday appointments book fast. We were unable to schedule the free visit in time for our pet’s needed vaccinations/boosters and also cannot commit long-term to a clinic with such restricted hours. We found another local clinic that was not on the shelter’s free exam list, but it was worth the greater flexibility of available appointments and continuity of care for our new pet.

Dr. Alt at Burke Veterinary Clinic has taken care of my kitties for years. He is kind, caring, patient, knowledgeable and responsive. Unlike other veterinary practices, he doesn’t do unnecessary testing just to make money. I completely trust and highly recommend Dr. Alt.

This veterinary office is filled with knowledgeable vets and staff. The staff are friendly and always patient with my dogs and cat. Dr. Alt has taken care of 3 of our dogs for 10 years along with my mother’s dog and he is very compassionate and kind.
