Great selection on boating equipment and they go out of their way to help. Aside from parts for my boat, they are also great with repairs and storage. Just an amazing one-stop-shop for boating, I highly recommend.

I've been taking my boat to Bobby's since I bought it from them in 1991. It has never not responded to a twist of the key, works great. It has been to visit them three times. It's a Boston Whaler with a 28hp. Old style.

This Bobbys Marine Service site- the owners no longer have control of for the past year... Someone else took over ownership of our media & website- in a false manner. We apologize and we will be closing this site.

The owner, Joey is possibly the worst business person that i have ever met... sold me a lemon motor for more than it was worth (my fault as he seems trustworthy at first...) and kept telling me it was all good to go., i would go launch the boat and the motor would still not run over 9mph's. plus the boat started flooding (he assured me had inspected... i had just bought the boat from another deadbeat... a local real estate agent, Dave)... took boat back to Bobbys.... weeks later i go get the boat again after being told by Joey it was fixed.. boat wouldnt go over 9mphs. back to Bobbys where it sat over the whole winter and in the spring Joey said motor is all good... took it out and it wouldnt go over 9mph... also the new hydraulic steering Joey installed started leaking all over the floor. i had enough and took it to another mechanic where it was fixed. do NOT do business with this company / person... unless you want to be ripped off. BEWARE!

If you want competent major work done on an outboard engine, find another provider who stands behind their work. Early in the summer of 2018, we took our 200 hp Yamaha to Bobby's to repair an over heating problem. Several weeks later we were told the problem was fixed and took our boat on a short ride. Twenty minutes later, the engine over heated again, and we were forced to pay for a second tow to have Bobby's look at it again, a cost they should have assumed. At the end of August, Bobby's again said they repaired the problem and charged us over $900. By that time most of the recreational season was over, visiting family members had left, and we pulled the boat out of the water, winterized it, and placed it on land under cover. When we put the boat back in the water in July of this year, we ran it for twenty minutes and it over heated again. When we informed Bobby's of this situation, they refused to take responsibility for any additional repairs, saying that too much time had elapsed since they returned the boat to us, this despite the fact it hadn't been run an hour in the interim. Moreover, when we received the boat from them, the vinyl on the seats was badly stained, evidently from exposure to leaves while left outside uncovered. We chose not to make an issue of the staining, and had the seats sprayed. There are several other marine repair providers in the area. We believe it likely you would have better luck with almost any other one.

My boat was supposedly checked out at Bobby's Marine after winterizing. Half of the charges could not have been performed and the boat was in poorer shape than when I left it to supposedly do a thorough checkup of the boat for the 2019 season. The boat was not checked out on the water, which is disappointing at best. I believe I was overcharged and under serviced on my boat. I will not be returning to this place again.

DANGER! FIRE HAZARD! STAY AWAY! I took my Yamaha 80HP to Bobby's Marine for a simple pre-season tune-up. The owner / mechanic ("Joey") reinstalled the 4 carburetors in the wrong order - creating a dangerous fire hazard causing gasoline to spew onto a hot engine whenever running. The automatic chokes on my Yamaha are supposed to drain excess fuel into 2 of the 4 specific carburetor bowls (which have a receptacle with a hole into the bowl for this purpose). I showed the problem to a certified Yamaha mechanic at another local shop who quickly diagnosed the problem - at least two of the bowls were installed in the wrong locations. Although I no longer trust Bobby's to work on my engines, I had already paid them $400 and decided to give them an opportunity to "make it right". I showed Joey pictures and video of the problem and explained to him what the certified Yamaha mechanic had said. He told me he would work on it Wednesday, which turned into Friday, then Saturday, the following Monday, then Wednesday, then Friday. After weeks of delays, lies, excuses, unanswered calls, and un-returned messages, I went to the shop on a Saturday morning and confronted him with some choice words in front of customers. That at least finally got him to work on the engine, but unfortunately, they did nothing to return the carbs to the correct locations. When he called later that day to tell me the engine was fixed, I asked him if he had reinstalled the carbs in the correct order. He snapped that the carbs were always in the right order, told me to come pick up my boat, and hung up on me. See picture, below, taken just before I moved the boat from Bobby's Marine to another shop. You can clearly see the carburetor bowl with a hole in it. Anytime there is gas in that bowl, it leaks onto the engine. Am currently contemplating my legal options. My greater concern is that their incompetence put me and my family's lives and property in danger. We took that boat out several times before realizing the severity of the problem. Oh - and be sure to check out the other review listed below as "Not currently recommended". Not sure why Yelp doesn't recommend that review. It certainly mirrors my experience with Bobby's Marine.
