Happy Food Mart is like a local mainstay of the area but the last few times I've stopped here while driving through have been sad. When I was little and my grandma lived in the trailer park across the street, I would walk over and get snacks and toys and ice cream almost daily. I loved trips to Happy Food Mart and we were in here several times a week. I remember it being clean with friendly staff. Lately, it's run down and probably suffering from decline in sales and revenue and they aren't able to keep it up to the standards it used to be held up to. The bathrooms are awful and nasty with supplies littered about. The pumps need to be updated and look like they shouldn't work. Supplies inside are lacking and some of the food was expired last time I was inside. It's sad bc it's been around forever and it's on a main stretch of the road between Troutville through Buchanan headed into Roanoke but it's in disrepair.

Typical older store from before the convenience store days. Everybody's friendly good selection of what you need. Trying to update some with new pumps and credit card system.
