“I had just adopted a cat who turned out to be very sick. The staff members at Sycamore Vet were so kind and compassionate. From the moment I walked in the door I felt so welcomed and I knew my cat was in good hands. They were very upfront about the prices and worked with me to find the most affordable option to get him the care he needed. “Dr. Hillenbrand is the only vet I have ever gone to that allows me to be present with my pup, gives extensive exams on him and takes her time to discuss his wellbeing and her concerns with me. Most vets (Banfield) do not permit me to be present with my dog, and often I feel rushed when they explain things. She is the exact opposite of those expierences and once my Banfield plan expires I will exclusively be coming back here for my dog. Thank you for your help so far! We will be back post his CCL surgery.”
“We brought our dog in to get a growth on the top of his head removed and sent for biopsy and while he was under get his teeth examined and cleaned and nails trimmed. The staff was very professional and kind and did an amazing job taking care of my boy. His teeth look so great (though he had to get one removed - but his breath does not stink anymore) and it was worth the hour and a half drive to Richmond. The care and the price cannot be beat.”
“I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Michael Higginbotham and his team during my visit for my dog. Dr. Higginbotham was extremely helpful, took the time to thoroughly explain everything, and clearly demonstrated his expertise in the field. He made me feel confident and comfortable with my dogs MRI results and provided an accurate diagnosis. He even showed me the MRI images and pointed out the specific issues, which was very reassuring. I never felt rushed, and I truly appreciated the care and attention my dog received while there. Although he wasn’t able to perform one of the optional treatments himself, he recommended an oncologist who may be able to help my dog further.
While the services were expensive, I can confidently say it was well worth it for the professional care and the peace of mind from finally getting the correct diagnosis. His assistant was kind and caring, and the front desk staff was attentive and welcoming. I highly recommend this veterinary office for anyone in need of specialized care for their pet.”

“Absolute and literal Lifesavers!!! I have a female who is 8 and was unspayed. Honest reason, she's got a natural attitude and her in heat was when everyone got along. Started to hear about issues that could arise so I got her scheduled with PAL who I've trusted for 15 years with various pets. Turns out she has developed a severe rare and deadly infection that could have ended her life within 3 weeks had this not been done. Every step of recovery was gone over in detail with the vet himself after and my baby girl is getting back to get old self. This is less a review and more of a complete and heartfelt thank you to everyone involved directly and indirectly, heck, to everyone that works there. You saved a life, saved a cat dad some very extreme grief and guilt and proved why I recommend you to everyone in the area for their needs. Always amazing staff, amazing doctors, and an amazing company!”

“We have had nothing but fantastic experiences at Betty Baugh’s. My girlfriend and I moved to RVA a few years ago with her now 13 year old cat, and we have been going there for all our vet needs. They are fantastic at working with you to ensure that you receive all the required care for your pet, while still working within your budget. It has been fantastic for a couple of college kids with an old cat. The entire staff also cares so much. Recently, when our kitty was having some stomach issues they managed to fit us in between appointments. Multiple members of their staff have messaged us to check in on our cat (not just the doctor, but even some of the front desk staff). We highly recommend Betty Baughs!”

I’ve only been here once so far, but it was a pleasant experience. My dog was experiencing kennel cough after coming back from the kennel for the first time and it was my first time ever experiencing that as a pet owner. I was uncertain what was going on with her and it just kept getting worse. My usual vet was unable to take her in last minute, but Tuckahoe Veterinary Hospital had an opening the very next day. The receptionist was helpful and kind while I was on the phone with her to book the appointment. The day of the appointment, we only had to wait for 5-10 minutes before they saw us. Dr. O'Niell was very understanding as I explained the situation and he checked her out and was able to confirm that it was kennel cough. We were able to leave that appointment with medication and since then, she has recovered! I’ll definitely look into bring my dog here for future appointments.”

Their diagnosis and discharge instructions were excellent. So far so good on our dog's recovery. We are keeping our fingers crossed he keeps healing and progressing well. Thanks VVC!”
“I have never been disappointed ever by them. They are my go-to. I have seen every vet here. All their staff are amazing. They are great with communication and ensuring your fur baby has the best care in the state. Dr Steve and Natalie are the best. Really, everyone there is amazing. If you ever have concerns, they will help to the best of their capability. They are doberman friendly and love my dogs! They are 100000% better than VVC. I've been seeing them for years and will always continue to see them. I really love this practice and always recommend my neighbors to bring their furry friends here.”

My childhood guinea pigs saw Dr. Whitfield, our family dogs saw her and Dr. Patterson, and my cats have seen both of them as well as Dr. Greene. They've all been wonderful and so caring to our fluffy family members. They always try their best to fit you in for an emergency, and I find the prices to be more reasonable than other places.”
