First off, the views are impeccable. We sat on the balcony on the second floor and we could get a panoramic view of the vineyards. The baked Brie was super yummy and the wine tasting was great. We ended up buying a bottle of The Donkey rose wine, because we loved it so much (note: I usually don't like rose, but this was an exception). Service was good. Definitely coming back for more wine tasting!

Absolutely gorgeous setting and breathtaking views. But I'd never attempt to visit in anything but good weather since you have to drive up a small mountain road to reach either tasting room. Both tasting rooms are beautiful but I'd pass on the reserve unless you could bring a bottle from the all ages tasting room there. The wine list is incredibly limited (which I know is because it's the reserve but I've still never seen a winery tasting room be so limited) and the tasting is overpriced even for a reserve flight. The all ages tasting room is seated only - even if all you want is a glass. It's very spacious and comfortable. Service was very slow - we thought we might have been forgotten. But hopefully that was just because they were busy doing good business and not a reflection on the employees themselves. We were happy to sit and chat, but had we been in a hurry this could have been inconvenient. The wines are good but none stand out to me. I appreciate that they had a good variety to choose from. Overall, there are plenty of other places around here that have good wine and good views and are more easily accessible.

It is a beautiful place to taste wine, along with good food and friends! A very basic way of life!

I have been meaning to write a review for some time. I came here a few months back with my husband on a date night. We ordered a flight of red and white wine. The wine was lovely, and the view alone was worth the visit. We were pretty upset with the crab dip we ordered. The dip we were served had barely any meat in it. It looked like it had lumps of crab meat in the photos, but it ended up being lumps of cream cheese that weren't blended and had browned under the broiler. Staff were very understanding with our disappointment and were kind to comp the $28 dish. I am from Baltimore, so I have certain expectations & I just think that for that price, you should get more crab meat.Overall, it's worth going for the view and the wine.

I visited the winery this past Saturday as we are planning a birthday celebration. I was very impressed with the facilities at The Reserve. Grace was the staff that guided us on a wine tasting there and she was fantastic with her explanations and cordial treatment. Holley was also very nice and showed me all the venues and explained different options. The wines and the food are excellent and the staff attentiveness compliments the experience. Very enjoyable afternoon.

Lovely location. Great food, and wine but the views are amazing and worth a trip alone.

We recently celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday here and used our membership to reserve a table for 10 people in the upstairs area (two children under 3 years old). Everyone enjoyed the view from the upstairs balcony and the selection of wines and food that was offered. Staff was friendly as always and very accommodating for a busy day. Thank you to the staff at Bluemont Vineyard for making my sister-in-law's birthday a great day!

Overall my family and I had a wonderful time at Bluemont. We came here with my sisters Friends to celebrate their PhD graduation. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and the servers were very nice and efficient. I will say there was one slightly older blonde haired woman working down near the register where you can buy gifts and memorabilia. She wasn't very nice to my family and I initially when we arrived and seemed annoyed to serve us. My family was in town from California so before we left, we grabbed some wine glasses and wines to take home and as we were checking out the line, my dad brought up a couple of other things he wanted to purchase. There was a gentleman in line behind us and she looked behind my stepmother at the gentleman behind us and said " boy you're being really patient," I guess that was her passive/aggressive way of telling us we were taking too long and shouldn't be bringing up extra items to purchase. She def had an attitude as she was checking us out. I watched her with other customers and she was much nicer. I would still go back it was a beautiful place!

Went here yesterday with my boyfriend. I thought the atmosphere was really beautiful, especially the outdoors. The service was good, but their menu was extremely limited apparently due to renovations. I did the wine tasting and I prefer sweet wines, but they only had dry wines which I really didn't have a choice but to select something to drink. The food was pretty good. I got their meatballs which were huge, but they tasted good. It came with a side of bread. My boyfriend had the broccoli and cheese soup and that was good. We would want to return in the spring and check out their food menu and also appreciate the outdoors in warmer weather.

Anyone who's a serious Virginia winery fan understands how the pandemic impacted businesses, especially wineries. But we are now 2 years out of the pandemic and many wineries sadly are operating more like restaurants now instead of wineries. Case in point: Bluemont Winery. Several months ago I visited, no reservation, hoping for a counter tasting. When I arrived, the hostess seemed very irritated that I was a solo winery visitor (just me...) and that I had not reserved a table. I asked if I could have an old fashioned wine tasting (and despite the tone of this review, I was very polite in my asking). She said no counter tastings. I can reserve a table for $20 (!!) and have the flight brought out to me. I can have a wine flight at many restaurants in northern VA or DC. When you go to a winery, you sort of expect a counter tasting. I said I would go to another nearby winery and she didn't seem phased by that at all. Everyone talks about the view. Most VA wineries have a great view. Sadly this winery has gotten too big for its britches.
