Went there to have fun with the girlfriend. Waited at the counter for 15 minutes, only to finally have some lady come up with the biggest attitude. She told us they “didn’t have any lanes available” even though there were 7 empty lanes. Hopefully if you decide to come here, they don’t have anybody else playing or you might not get to at all.

Nottoway Lanes has a fun crowd and an awesome dj that does karaoke nights regularly. Those are about the only highlights among the many issues I’ve had
First, I waited over 2 hours for my food to arrive. It turns out that the kitchen did make my food (twice, actually) but they were putting my order on the counter and someone who was bowling was grabbing my food off the counter for themselves. The staff was not sure who at the time, but I was able to identify the group. To finally get my food, I had to leave the bar area to stand and watch the young man make my order for a third time so he could place it in my hand. When I finally did get it, one of my items was wrong. I will say, they did not charge me for the food. But that was after a friend I was with spoke to the manager about how ridiculous the service was. This was a ridiculous situation and really makes me wonder how sanitary food procedure is when patrons are able to handle others food.
Second, when we were ready to close out, the bartender was on the dance floor with her phone rather than behind the bar. When she finally helped me, she charged my card for 2 shots of Bacardi that I did not request or receive ($10 for each shot). It was charged before I saw my bill. When I confronted the manager, she proceeded to tell me that my friend ordered those shots to my tab. My friend did not receive any shots or order them. She had her own tab open. I did finally get a refund, but they had an attitude the entire time about it.
I then went back another evening to do karaoke night and bowl. It is advertised at the front as Thursday $3 military bowl and $2.50 shoes. We had 2 people bowling. The receipt said it was for 4 hours of bowling and 3 shoes. And charged $25. We asked and the man did not respond to our inquiry and told us that “that’s what it costs”. The lane was opened about 8:40, and it timed out just before 10:45. We did not receive the full time charged. We also didn’t request 4 hours, it was automatic. Frustrating to be charged more than expected and not receive full service paid for.
Finally, I noticed that both times I have been in, I never saw anyone get ID’d for alcohol. I don’t believe anyone there was under 21, but I definitely know someone that was 22 there and looked extremely young. This location has already had an issue years ago with underage drinking. Why isn’t this being taken more seriously? The bar also smelled of low quality marijuana my second visit and the only person in there was the bartender.
I love bowling and I love that Nottoway lanes is a fun spot in this area. But the service and lack of enthusiasm at this location drives me to other counties for my recreation. I’m leaving this a 2 star review only due to the dj having an awesome personality, very attentive and had great customer service. Great job to DJ-C on both of my visits.

Omg. What a JOKE. Bartender has NO idea how to make drinks! And serve them in these tiny little plastic cups. They care more about their social lives than actually working! Food is mediocre at best...way over priced! Won't waste my money here again. So many better options out there for bowling!

Nottoway Lanes, it's great, it's wonderful, the truth is that I really liked the attention of the waitress Evelyn, very good and pleasant. The drinks they have are very good. I will definitely return and I recommend it,
