Fort Barfoot formerly Fort Pickett gym has had a major makeover. It has some top notch equipment along with a spacious area. It offers a variety of equipment uses. Come experience it for yourself. I do understand that hours of operation is not very appealing to most but some individuals ruined that by some missing equipment, damage to the property, and just not respecting the gym.

Great gym! Been going here for several months and it has almost everything I could ask for. It's clean and what's even better is that it's hardly used so it feels as though I have the whole gym to myself which is very nice.Now the bad. Ft. Barfoot (formally Ft. Pickett), is not funded well with respect to gym hours. Couple that with idiots that can't respect the gym by breaking rules; well, that ruined access to the gym for everyone. The hours are absolutely horrible now (Tues-Fri 0600-1600). I usually come after 1600 and these hours now make it nearly impossible to use. No weekend hours, either.C'mon, Ft. Barfoot. Let's refund this place and open it back up with better hours to include weekends!

They made a few improvements to the gym over the last two or three years. It's still a bit small and has little equipment compared to a decent civilian gym, but the equipment here is good, and now that the bathrooms don't look like the oldest thing on base, it's not a bad place. They have wifi, so you can listen/watch stuff while working out.
