Had a safety inspection at this place and they found genuine safety issue with brake on rear left that needed to be fix. However, they gave a quote of $1500, wanting us to fix almost entire brake system on rear side! The problem item could be fixed in $250 but they would insist us to replace what they recommend else they will not fix. I got it fixed the problem issue in less than $200 somewhere else and got the inspection cleared. The point is, with this kind of frienchise and dealership auto repair, they always want to fix more than it's needed to get more money from the customer. They play fear game with ladies and seniors. Beware of their sale tactic about "recommended" Vs "Needed"; with one small problem item they will throw more items recommended for fix! When car is old, of course many parts are old but not all of thenlm needs to be replaced!! I would be very careful with such franchise auto repair. Always get the second opinion and don't fall for their "Recommended" to fix tectics! Don't hesitate to take second opinion with non frienchise auto repair shop! Happy Driving!

I brought my car in to VA Tire and Auto in Ashburn to repair an oil leak on 4/6/2024. They charged me almost $2300 to replace the housing, hoses, and oil, and complete their 25 point inspection. Less than one week later (after driving only 80 miles), my check engine light and oil light came on and my car died, leaving me stranded at night on 395. I had it towed to the nearest mechanic in Alexandria who ran diagnostics on it the next day (another expense for me) and told me my engine had seized because there was absolutely no oil in it. Since I had just paid VA Tire to fix the leak and allegedly replace the oil, I paid for my car to be towed back to VA Tire assuming they would do the right thing. Well, as of this writing my car has been at VA Tire for six days. They ran diagnostics when it first got back to them as well, and they initially tried to blame the garage I first had my car towed to for seizing the motor. When I disputed that, they said they definitely put oil in the engine but it must have leaked somewhere else in the engine and they would “try to find it”. Somewhere that they didn’t find on their 25 point inspection, or that didn’t show up on the other mechanic’s diagnostics, or VA Tire’s initial diagnostics when the car was returned? Is anyone buying this? My hope that they would do the right thing is fading with each passing hour. My advice -if you bring your vehicle to VA Tire for an oil related repair, make sure they actually put oil in it. Or better yet, don’t bring your vehicle here at all.

Usurious corporate business I went for an emission and they told me that I had to do a spark plug adjustment to approve the emission for a cost of 160. I left the car for 2 hours and they say that they did nothing that was only a diagnosis because the repair was due in 2000 and they ended up charging me $172 for a deep diagnosis that I didn't request and they never performed the repair I took it for, I actually felt scammed. I do not recommend this place at all and I see that I am not the only one who already has this custom because they have done it with other people, who I am reading through this medium.

My husband took our family car to get a tire patched. The next day i put my kid in his carseat and drove him around. I didnt realize it until two days later when i say by his carseat that one side of his carseat was not tethered. They failed to tell my husband that they did that. My husband thinks they had to get to the floor of the car to check the spare tire or something. That’s awesome. However, tell the customer that you did that so we can make the carseat safe. I was so raged. What if i got in an accident while his carseat was not safely installed. I never imagined they did that. Because why would they when they were just patching a tire.Just tell the customer that you did that if you dont want to or you dont know how to do it.If you can’t even do that, i don’t trust your work.

This will be the first 1 star review I have ever left on google reviews. My family and I have been going here for over 10 years. I am genuinely shocked at the way this matter was handled and the lack of attention from managers that this situation got. I called and was quoted, $556 for a window regulator, parts and labor included. I asked Tavious, the gentleman that took my deposit for the window regulator(260$), "Does the window regulator assembly come with a motor?" he hesitated for a few seconds then responded, "yea, I believe it does." So I put down my deposit and returned the following weekend to have the part installed. During the interim when I was waiting for the part, I called back and asked the same question I asked Tavious to Sean who works at the front desk. Sean is the gentleman that wrote my ticket up originally. So, for the second time I ask, "Does the window regulator assembly come with a motor?" He replied, "yes sir, It does." Now, I was satisfied. I asked two different people the same question and got almost the exact same response. Good enough for me, because they had my trust. Fast forward, I was in the waiting room waiting for my part to be installed. Sure enough, my worst nightmare came to fruition. Sean comes walking up to me and asks, "Do you have a motor? we need a motor in order to install the regulator". I damn near facepalmed right then and there. But I remained respectful through the entire process, to the bitter... very bitter end. Needless to say, I ended up paying $1,140 for a window regulator and motor including labor. Not to mention, they didn't even completely put my door back together. They left a part on my passenger seat because they couldn't figure out how to install it! My window makes a popping noise going up and down! I used to work in the industry, this is one of the reasons I got out. They lie. Ignorance is no excuse! dishonesty is RAMPANT in independent shops, this shop is no exception. You betrayed my trust and your own company values, and you have a history it seems of doing this to your most loyal at this location. Shame on all of you.Original Sales Quote #: 34030Resulting Invoice #: 733688

Went here for 8 years straight and never going back because of the attitude of the new technician who thinks I’m supposed to spend $1800 without him having to explain what’s being done to my car. No respect for peoples hard earned money. The front guy was innocent and tried to ask the technician to explain to me but the technician looked at him and just gave both of us a nasty look saying “we can’t make anything cheaper, have to go by what the books say” I mean I get it but atleast an explanation? Who asks someone to spend 1800 and gives them no explanation?

Took my 2023 Silverado truck for safety inspection and they did not pass it because they claimed that the truck needed new tires , . They did the same to one of my employees. They wanted $2,200 for the new tires . I took the truck to another place and it passed with no issues. The tires still had another 10,000 miles before they needed to be change . Selling tires is their business !

Been going there for more than a decade with so many different vehicles but will never go there ever again! Literally called and asked them for the inspection, so they told me 4 cars in the line which was ok. I was planning to wait but no, as soon as I showed up, they told me that they can’t take me in because the 4th car was the last car. If this was the case, why they didn’t tell me when I called? I took off from my work and they pretty much ruined it for me. Thanks for nothing! This is how you’ll lose your loyal customers.

This place makes you sit in line to get safety and emissions inspections, even if you have an appointment and leave your car for another service, they won’t do a inspection!! This is just the dumbest policy!!! Guess I’ll just take my business elsewhere.

TLDR: Overpriced, lazy, corporate business. Diagnostic costs are well above average and DO NOT GO TOWARDS REPAIRS! Decent option for tires and the standard oil-change and inspection fare, but otherwise steer clear and find yourself a more discerning, earnest, and affordable shop to give your business to.•Local and loyal customer of 20 years here who has been going to this garage for repairs since back when it was still a Goodyear. Price point for rather run-of-the-mill services has been increasing year-on-year and I’m throwing in the towel with them after this last visit, mostly because the policy of not applying diagnostic fees towards eventual repairs is absolutely ridiculous in this day an age when computers do most of the diagnosing.I went in because my newly acquired used car’s check engine light was on and all I needed was a simple diagnostic + quick assessment of the car as it is creeping up on its 75k scheduled maintenance. Check engine deals are really simple to start to diagnose because the car’s computer does most of the work and the mechanics just need to plug in the code reader - code readers which anyone can get from AutoZone or Amazon for $20-60 - to get the gist of the issue. Not only did the shop charge me $160 for this but that $ DOES NOT GO TOWARDS REPAIRS!Moreover, while the code readers/computers certainly do most of the diagnostic work, it’s no excuse for mechanics to simply take the codes on worst case scenario off the jump. In my case the shop informed me that the code indicated a purge valve issue which is related to the overall fuel retention + delivery system, they offered to address this by replacing the valve for an additional $160 labor + $145 parts. Turns out this is a pretty common issue that arises from faulty/bad gas caps which one can replace for about $10-25 and sure enough my car’s gas cap has not been clicking when I close it.This shop was ready to charge me $500 for a simple $10 fix. As it is they got me for the $160 for diagnosis which is also about double the average for such service at other shops!

I recently visited this place to get a new set of tires and unfortunately had a disappointing experience due to poor management. The manager bill Taylor, in particular, handled the situation poorly, which significantly impacted my overall satisfaction. From the outset, it was evident that the manager lacked effective communication skills and seemed disinterested in addressing customer concerns. Instead of resolving issues, their approach only exacerbated the situation, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. The lack of professionalism was apparent throughout my interaction with the manager. It's disheartening when those in manger roles fail to set a positive tone for the rest of the staff and, ultimately, the customer experience.I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for improvement. Clear communication and a customer-centric approach are crucial elements in any service-oriented business

I had the honor to meet Robert who was doing the inspections. I’ve been here 3 times but missing the closing time for inspections. I came as the last car was going in, he told me that this was his last car. I explained what’s happened to me before. I explained I was a high school teacher and I can’t make it out of school that easy when school bell is 4:18. He gave me a smile and said not a problem. Those few words elevated so much stress off of me! A great way to end my day. Robert is extremely personable individual and who should never lose him . Thanks HL

For car inspection, waiting in line from 10am. There is only one guy doing inspections and there were exactly 5 cars ahead of me. At 1pm, still second person waiting. Never ever come here for inspection because these guys have no incentive to do these inspections faster.
