The pharmacy there is a disaster. Unlike other pharmacy's, this one uniquely screws up basic refills. One time, they mistakenly provided a 2 60-day prescriptions for my mother for her Alzheimers. Later that day, they realized the mistake and asked for us to return one of them. I told them that the bottle they provided were not "tamper" proof and I highly recommended that they should not redistribute it. They didn't care and insisted that I return it so I did. I can't say they sent it to someone else but that was very bizarre.

This review is specifically for the pharmacy. Every time I pick up a Prescription it's always a delay for hours or I have to pick up next day. I Specifically have my doctor put in refills as early as possible but I continue to get the same results every Time. They love to say it'll be 10 to 15 minutes but that turns into hours to days. And please don't have an RX savings card because that can be a whole separate issue of waiting 10-15min to adjust pricing. This store is closest to my home so the convenience was supposed to be a plus for myself but I will be going to Harris Teeter which is up the street. I really hope they can get that problem fixed because a lot of elderly folks use that pharmacy due to it being near the senior living facility. Now please don't confuse this review with the actual store because as far as the grocery part of the store the staff is amazing and very friendly. The same faces for years, very welcoming. Please work on fixing the pharmacy.

Extremely frustrating experience every time I come. A lot of expired, moldy food so you really need to pay attention when you are grabbing groceries. Only one cashier yet when you go to the self checkout someone is immediately available to tell you “self check out is only for 20 items or less”. This is why I avoid going here. I am trying to go home and get out of the store and not have to suffer the consequences of how this store is inadequately staffed. I can tell the employees are frustrated by it by their defeated attitude because I don’t understand how other grocery stores have functional self checkouts and if they don’t, they at least have a proper amount of cashiers. Trader Joe’s doesn’t do me like this!

Over the past year the quality has steadily declined. I am unsure if this is Giant corporate or if it is this stores management that is to blame. Produce is fine and this would be an ok neighborhood grocery store but I have some direct issues that I would love to have answered.1. Updated self checkout: 6 months ago they have updated the software on the self checkout machines. They are now much more sensitive when it comes to moving your groceries as you are scanning them. I understand this may be out of this stores control but the quality of help that the employees assist is sub par. Employees are actively raising their voices with people who have issues with the machines.2. Employees asking for donations: Again I have no issue with a donation being asked during the checkout process but within the last month employees are stopping people in the middle of checking out and asking them for donations. Is this a local policy or not? This slows down the already slow process of self checkout.3. Meat freshness: Although most of the produce is fine and average the meat department at this Giant is below average. Most days 1/3 of the meat selection is marked down from age and most days there are several out of date selections.Again most of these issues I do not see at other Giants. At the moment I would not recommend besides simple non perishables.

Just had horrible experience with that woman names Mossamat, who said she was a manager on duty. Had my lottery voucher to redeem at ANY retail store, she didn't even try to figure it out. I had a representative from Virginia Lottery on a phone willing talk to her to explain how to do so and she just walked away from me having a person on a phone. People like Mossamat should be swipping floors, not to work at customer service field! I was so nice and kind, and she just walked in her office while I had a third person on a phone literally EXPLAINING to her what she should do, and she just said I Don't Care. I have no words to express my frustration. Taking this mater to the Corp, until this person in gone.

Horrible management. After witnessing on several occasions the management team talking to customers extremely rude I decided to say something to however was the general store manager. The supposedly manager said that everyone loses their cool from time to timeSeveral neighbors in my development especially the women will not go to this Giant food store grocery shopping although they still use the pharmacy. The pharmacy department is awesome. Extremely friendly and efficient not to mention helpful.I'd advise everyone especially women to use the other Giant food store for groceries.Today while going to this Giant to pickup my wife's med's the sliding doors were closed but the store was open so I just opened the doors and walked in as I've done in the past when the automatic doors were not working properly. But today an employee started yelling at me and my granddaughter. He frightened my granddaughter so I was going to defend her obviously from this maniac. Fortunately for him I saw the giant food pin. I asked him what was going on and why are you yelling at my granddaughter . His English wasn't clear enough to understand but the store manager came over yelling at me for using the doors. Long story short this store has had issues for years but doesn't care. My retired neighbor is 68 but rides his bike daily. After going to this particular Giant last week for the first time he had a horrible experience. The same manager was on the phone cursing someone out about something. While my neighbor was trying to get his attention. Needless to say our neighborhood doesn't use this Giant for anything other than prescriptions.

Wow. We've been going to this giant since we moved here in 2012. The staff is always great, service with a smile, and usually things that were looking for are on the shelves (except maybe during COVID-19) . I was absolutely shocked when I went in to get a few items today, and when I went to check out at the self-checkout line, I was told that all self-checkouts, 8 or 9 of them, we're now restricted to only 20 items or less! Have my groceries manually scanned and bagged, despite having 23 items in my cart. I have nothing against the fine staff that they have working at the checkout counters, but I have become very adept at getting what I need coming scanning it, and being out of the store in a very quick period of time with no issues. So today I took my 23 items to a cashier who did not know the item numbers of the produce that I was getting, had difficulty figuring out what to bag and when, almost set a gallon of milk on top of my hot dog rolls, and used the six reusable bags that I had to pack all my groceries into three incredibly heavy bags. I'm not exactly sure why the store, and I do say that it's only this store, decided to make this move, but I definitely will not be back until they change this policy. Recommend going to the giant over by home Depot near broadlands.

Not the nicest location and frequently out of stock on some essentials. Also, please bring back the old hours or meet in the middle.

A lot of products are beyond the manufacturer's recommended use by date, especially their beer. Their prices are also way higher than other grocery stores in the surrounding area.

They recently changed the store hours to close at 10 so I try going when I get off work at 9:30 and this entire week they routinely closed 10-15 minutes early for some reason. Close at the posted time please not 15 minutes early!
