I was always too hesitant to dye my hair, but when I decided to get my hair done in a lived in balayage look, I booked with Kumsal for my first time. It turned out absolutely STUNNING and everything I had hoped for. She’s communicative, kind, and a true master of her craft. She’s amazing!! She thoroughly explained every aspect of the process, and recommended products that would keep my hair healthy post using bleach. Book with her!!! You seriously won’t regret it. I went back after my first time and really could not be happier with her professionalism. Current salon is clean, professional, and staff are all around very kind. Couldn’t recommend Kumsal (@hairbykumsal on Instagram) and Current Salon more!
Added photos from the first and second time. Going lighter with a natural dark base takes time, but is definitely worthwhile when you have an expert stylist on your side!

In the past few years, I've been spending endless hours sifting through what feels like a million Instagram, Google, Facebook pages/reviews, looking for the best balayage colorists in NOVA. I've spent thousands during that time, visiting different stylists that I hoped would be "the one". Unfortunately, I found myself leaving these chairs disappointed every time.
I found Ayda's bio and the MANY impressive pics of her clients, that led me to make an appointment. I felt so welcomed from the minute I walked in the door. Ayda was so kind and patient, taking her time to educate me on my hair. She stepped me through different options that would help me achieve what I was looking for, while also explaining the pros and cons of each from a maintenance perspective. She genuinely wanted to make sure I walked out of there very happy.
She exceeded all my expectations with the dimensional balayage I was hoping for, and I couldn't be any happier. I'm so happy to know that my search is over because Ayda is the one I can count on going forward. She has my complete trust and best interest at heart. Thank you Ayda!!!

It was my first time at the salon. It is gorgeous and everyone in the staff is so kind. I saw Lexi for balayge and a trim and she absolutely KILLED IT. She was so kind, thorough and straight forward . Very knowledgeable and will definitely be my go to stylist. Highly recommend:)

I had the pleasure of visiting Gabi at Current salon, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional.
The consultation was thorough. Gabi took the time to listen to my preferences and understand exactly what I wanted. She was incredibly detail-oriented, which truly reflected in the final result. My highlights have never looked this good! Even my husband complimented how it looks so nice.
The salon itself was clean and spacious, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, everyone at the salon was professional and friendly, adding to the positive experience.
Overall, I highly recommend Gabi for anyone looking for top-notch hair services. The combination of excellent service, attention to detail, and a welcoming environment makes it a standout choice.

Current salon deserves a 100 star review. This team is the most well educated group of hairstylists you will ever find. Nargees & Samer made all my dreams come true and then some! I have never been more happy with my hair or experience. The owners Nese and Ryan are the most genuine and passionate people out there. If you are looking for luxury hair services and unmatched talent look no further!!

This is by far the worst hair salon I’ve ever been to not just because Vanessa ruined my hair but also because Nese (the owner) was rude and disrespectful. I went there on March 26th for a balayage and the results I got looked like highlights (streaky, not blended at all and uneven) and nothing like the inspiration photo that Vanessa has shown to me. So Nese told me to come back another day for them to fix it and I did go back on April 12th but ended up walking out of the salon in tears because she refused to fix my hair after damaging it so badly. At first, Nese told me she’d do a deep treatment because of how damaged my hair had gotten. After I said ok and that I want the hand painting technique, she later refused to do at all because I told her I want a hand painting technique and not the teased technique which Vanessa did. She claimed I questioned their ability (which I didn’t and all I had said was that I wanted the hand painting technique) and told me I should have “spoken up earlier”. Well, as a client you expect the salon to be the experts and know what they’re doing which I didn’t even say to her and all I had requested was a hand painting technique, as a result she refused to service me all together after promising me to the deep treatment and fixing the “balayage”. This was a horrible experience and very traumatizing to deal with a very rude and disrespectful owner who told me to “go back to the other salons I had previously gone to” because any other professional would be sorry for the damaging their client’s hair and not tell them to leave. At the end, as I was crying and checking out, I told the front desk ladies what happened and they both agreed this wasn’t my fault and Nese shouldn’t have said the things because usually in this situations “the salon owner would bend over to fix their damage!” And not be rude to their client. Lucky for the salon, the photos I have of my hair aren’t uploading with my review so I will post them separately in here.

For reference, I spend a lot of money and time on my hair. My hair is light brown I’ve been coloring icy white blonde at professional salons for the last 15years.
Bottom line up front:
1. The salon is very clean, the receptionist staff are kind, and located in a cute safe area. I would say the prices are reasonable considering the area and level of skill.
2. Nese was impressively charismatic, genuinely nice, thoughtful and a holds herself with a professional demeanor. From a short consult, 4 weeks prior to my hair appointment she remembered little details about me and my life that made it a comfortable experience
3. Umit my hairstylist, colorist and blonde goddess creator was wonderful. He was through and perfectly gave me the hair I wanted from pictures I showed.
I’m new to the DMV and I found this salon via google searches. I saw they had one many balayage awards, looked at their website and social media, all which were promising. I was asked to come in for a consult to get on the same page of my hair goals and was greeted by the owner who picked Umit to do my hair.
I was nervous to make sure I was explaining my goals correctly, I was going to a high end, awarded salon in Bethesda who had completely changed the color of my hair despite pictures and numerous conversations. This session would be the typical time frame I go to the salon. However, I needed a color correction for the first time. You can see how warm and more honey my hair had become.
Today, I completed my appointment with Umit. My hair is incredible! It’s perfectly blended at the roots into a crisp blonde, he meticulously applied color to my hair for HOURS for a true “FULL” color, Nese popped by numerous times to check in with me, helped me with a care plan for home and planning the next sessions.
I move often for work and I will be hard pressed not to just fly up here and get my hair done. It’s really that worth it.

Wouldn’t recommend this salon as they caused extreme damage to my wife’s hair who has now been struggling for over a month to revive her fried hair and she didn’t even get the look she asked for. Also, the manager was very rude and disrespectful toward her. There are far many reputable salons in the area. Wouldn’t recommend this one.

I came here from DC at the recommendation of my coworker. She recommended Vanessa and I was initially worried when i didnt get Vanessa but Nese and Gabi did a wonderful job in helping me pull off the right punk/goth look and everyone keeps complementing me. I only wish i had received more aftercare instructions as reds tend to fade very fast. I spent a lot of money on the products they recommended but those do not Shampoo or condition the hair. I also came early for the henna test but ended up waiting until 10am anyhow. There must be some trick in getting a certain stylist because they still seem to be fully booked even a month in advance.

Current By Nese offers a wide range of services at reasonable prices. I've been coming here for years, and I'm always satisfied with the results. The stylists are skilled and knowledgeable, and they make sure to educate clients on hair care and styling tips. The salon is clean and modern, creating a comfortable environment for clients. Overall, a great choice for quality hair care.

This salon is in the One Loudoun shopping center close to the parking garage. I came in on a Wednesday around midday when they had one appointment available. I hadn't gotten my hair cut since November. I'm trying to grow it out, so a haircut was overdue! I had also wanted to change the style a little bit to be a little bit more fitting with my curls that I had no idea were much curlier than I knew! Aubry was my stylist, and she taught me a lot about the type of curls I have and helped me get started on establishing a good hair care routine. I love my current style and absolutely appreciated what I learned about how to take care of my curls. The salon was decorated so luxuriously and was really clean even though it was pouring rain that day. My interaction with the front-end staff was great: everyone was friendly and helpful. Service was definitely top-notch! I am coming back in May to have a color service done for the summer. I will absolutely come back in the future! I will update my review should anything change.

I booked a haircut session with Shugofa there. Everything went highly smooth and was professionally handled. Have been to many stylists who keep on recommending some or the other products while tending to your hair ( even if you are not looking for the advice ) , but she did not try to sell anything to me which was a HUGE plus. I got a little educated on hair styles in photos vs reality! It was a great decision to go there. The salon itself has great vibes with a warm welcome from the receptionist ( I couldn't catch her name ). All in all, it's a PLUS if you wanna go and get your hair done. Oh and the prices are affordable too!
