The RiverStreet team is great. Kenneth went above and beyond to get our network up and running we are very thankful since we live out in the sticks internet is essential for our business. We love working with our technician Marvin T. who knows how to handle issues and does so promptly. Kind, Caring and Professional. Cant say enough good things to post.

My technician, Marvin Toliver, went above and beyond to get my internet reconnected. He replaced equipment in the pouring rain and made sure I had the best signal possible. He also took care to tidy up the wires and trench them. Very Impressed!

Haven’t had service since last week. Tech support can only walk through unplugging the router and then the will escalate the ticket to someone during business hours. Doesn’t help over a holiday though. Looking for any other option than this service.

Awful internet, simply waiting for Fiber optic in the area. Like Everyone else.I would avoid this company, internet out usually 10-15 times a day and excruciatingly low speeds. It is brutal.My opinion: Get a hotspot from a cell phone provider for work from home, and use your phone/tablet with unlimited data as a zoom/teams device. I have to do this for both online school and work.It costs a bit more but at least its functional.

Update :We have tried since December to have custom service assist us in our daily hours long outages. They have not been helpful, come out as requested, or resolved the problem. We are saddened to have to update this review to a poor one. I would not recommend this company any longer.I have had the privilege of utilizing SCS services in a professional building and in my private home. The technical teams are competent, professional and respectful of both myself and others. The integrity of their responses to questions and their desire to maintain top of the line customer service, has kept me as a steadfast supporter of them for three years now. I knew none of them before; However, I am happy to see their continued growth as it is deserved for a company who values its customers and employees. SCS continues to provide quality equipment and good service for our rural area.Thank you

If you were also transitioned to work-from-home because of Covid-19 I suggest you try a different ISP. I was transitioned to work-from-home in March and in late March or early April the service stopped working. After contacting the company their one and only phone operator informed me that they would look into the issue. A month passes still no service so I keep calling and finally the operations manager says it will be fixed in two weeks. Two weeks pass still no service because they fixed a tower I was not connected to. Call again in June/July and then I'm told they are aware of the issue but there is no plan to fix the tower through 2020. So I lose my nice job in April because no one believes that an ISP would do this heck even asking them for an E-mail stating they are aware of the outage is too much so I had nothing to give my employer. Several calls later and they suspend my account so I don't have to keep calling for a bill credit. I guess after getting funding from Surry to expand service into the area did not net them enough customers to justify maintaining service. If you are in Surry and want internet I suggest looking at other options, oh that's right there aren't any yet. Such a shame because it is fantastic when it worked.Summary: Service down since March. As of December 2020 there is still no service. Can call but can not get an answer for this issue or a estimate for service return upto one-year out.Update01: Was told in January that service would resume in middle of February. No service. Called in March and was told no expected service through 2021.If I was more educated I could explain why this is a giant grift taking money from counties and dropping service after one year.

Frequently goes out. I’m paying about $110/month for 40 down an never see anything above 25. Speed fluctuates over a wide range from less than 5 to 25. Like the rest of the community...just waiting for another service option.

Mostly works ok during the day, but like others have said, services goes out multiple times a day, often for a short period of time, but can't rely on it for Zoom/online meetings. However service slows down to nearly usable speed during peak evening times and with many times latency exceeding 3000ms. They are seriously over selling their available bandwidth. Just ran a speed test. Latency 544 ms, download =1.30Mbps, upload= 0.39Mbps. My plan calls for 10 Mbps download which I only see in the middle of the night. Will switch to Starlink once it becomes available here, as Briscnet in Bedford has been a train wreck from the start.

Absolutely terrible service. Called twice over 4 months to see if service was available in my area. Assured that a technician would verify wether or not service was available. Never heard back. Goes to show that without competition there is no need to be service oriented. The service for just an inquiry was terrible. It is a precursor to service if issues arise. Stuck with Hughes Net. I hope the area gets fiber optic services soon. It will be worth the wait. A one rating was provided only because a rating was required.

The WiFi goes out 5-10 times per hour. I feel like I'm getting ripped off. Service not reliable but at least they radically overcharge for it. This is a rural business that can only stay in business because of the complete lack of competition. They don't answer the phone or respond to messages, and if you actually get some one on the phone (buy a lottery ticket it's your lucky day) they remotely attempt to fix the issue invariably failing to so for longer than it takes to get you off the phone. I long for the day that someone brings reliable internet service to Nelson county.

Called and was assured a return call within "24-48 hours".Waited 72 hours. Called again. Voice mail.Four more voice mails left over three weeks time.No return call.On a whim, called on a Saturday. Got a live person...He informed me that they wouldn't be doing any new installs for the next three months.Had they told me this the first time, it would have been frustrating but forgiven.Had they put this on their voicemail, it would also have been frustrating, but understandable.Me calling six times after they said they'd be back in touch three weeks earlier? (Note that I am trying to give them my money...). Unbelievable.What they must know is that they are the only game in town. The treatment they give reflects this fact.To be fair, the two folks I actually spoke to were pleasant, but they really don't care about service. It isn't like we have other options.

I loose Internet service several times a day regardless of weather conditions nothing makes a difference it's just very slow laggy and always going out but still pay full price and have no other internet options where I live making it very difficult to effectively do my job when I am working from home or when my kids are doing online school.

the internet goes up comes down gets up comes down can't watch a single movie without an interruption when the wind blows I say that's the problem interesting the wind doesn't affect the cell phone or my TV but they say that they can't provide proper service when it's windy I am tired of paying for 30 megabytes a second and only getting 15 at the most they don't seem to be able to do what they say they're going to do they didn't they just are terrible

We had them come to our house and then set a date to have it installed and they never showed up office was really rude and then proceeded to tell us it would take over 2 months. Won’t be getting our business. I suggest go elsewhere
