This Bed & Breakfast is my favorite place to stay. I have stayed twice. The beds are more comfortable than any hotel. It’s quiet, peaceful and clean. The coffee is good. The fresh home cooked breakfast makes me feel like I have gone to my childhood home and mom whipped up something with love. Nothing tastes better than this. The owners, Jay & Wendie, have a gift for hospitality & always make me feel like family. The location is off the main road but very convenient to great hiking, breweries and other area attractions. If you need a getaway or just a place to stop mid travels, you will be so blessed for staying here. It is 100x better than any hotel.

My wife, Karen, and I have made several trips to the area, and this was our third time booking at Harmony Hill. The house is perfectly decorated with modern country charm, and the owners Wendie and Jay are wonderful hosts. You absolutely cannot get a better B&B breakfast anywhere than at Harmony Hill. The B&B is in a perfect location, just a mile off of US 29, making it an ideal access for all of the wineries and other venues in Nelson and Amherst Counties. We have several wine events booked for the summer in the Nelson/Amherst area and we’ve already planned to stay at Harmony Hill.
Nearby activities: Wineries/breweries, antiques, hiking, historic areas, local artists, charming small towns, scenic drives

My husband and I had our first ever B&B stay at Harmony Hill. We loved it. Jay and Wendie are wonderful hosts that made us feel right at home. Rooms had beautiful views and were super cozy. Breakfasts were phenomenal. Lots of things to do at B&B for a quiet weekend, or venture out to one of the local restaurants suggested by Wendie. We enhanced our stay with one of the packages offered by HH. So good and so much fun. We will be staying again! (Hopefully soon)

Rooms: The rooms at Harmony Hill are very spacious. They all come with a private bathroom. Some with large jetted tubs. The mattress was very comfortable. I never had any problem falling asleep. King size beds too!! The decor in the whole house is so comforting and Wendie and Jay treat you just like family. I can’t wait to go back again!!
Nearby activities: Some of the activities we have done while visiting are wine tasting. There are so many different wineries to do tastings. If you prefer beer or cider, there are plenty of breweries and cider tastings as well. There is even a distillery if you like bourbon. We went to the D-Day Memorial, Appomattox Courthouse and Crabtree Falls! We also went to Tuckahoe Antiques and walked around and looked at all of the antiques.
Food and drinks: The food is delicious. The breakfasts that you will get here are ones you will not get anywhere else. The Tiramisu French Toast and the scrambled eggs with zucchini to name a few. Oh, and the homemade biscuits are to die for!!! Wendie and Jay really know how to do breakfast!!
We went out to eat at some great restaurants as well. We had lunch at the Blue Mountain Barrel House and Dinner at Mountain Mama’s. Highly recommend both.

This place is out of a story book! It is so picturesque, so peaceful, and so homey. Wendie and Jay were so receptive to our requests, our needs, gave us a fantastic restaurant recommendation, and served us beautiful breakfasts each morning. We love Harmony Hill, and could not recommend it more!Rooms: We stayed in the Harmony Room—- Very comfortable bed, super comfortable loveseat, fireplace, in-room fridge, and big bathtub with jets! Everything is so well laid out with all the details and little touches. Loved it!

We had a great anniversary trip to Nelson County and staying at Harmony Hill! Jay and Wendy were very friendly, welcoming, flexible with our in-and-out schedule- and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend Harmony Hill for your Nelson County touring and brewery-hopping excursions!Food & drinks: Great location for visiting nearby wineries and breweries. Don’t bother visiting Mountain Cove! That place is far off the beaten path and not at all the caliber of other establishments like Lovingston Winery and others.

Initially, I was worried it was too far off the beaten path. I couldn't have been more wrong. The location was perfectly quiet and relaxing, but an easy drive to a variety of activities. The breakfast on both days was delicious, but Jay's Sunday morning biscuits really are something special. When we were there, it was a full house, but still quiet enough to have a good mid morning nap. The bed was comfortable, and every little detail was included. I will be back! (If you visit, go to Mountain Moma's for dinner. It's amazing.)

Absolutely delightful stay and proprietors. A true Piedmont oasis. We chose to stay here because we were attending an event at the nearby Oak Ridge Estate. It's a 10-minute drive from there. Country-style breakfast, comfortable living room with library/game room stocked with DVDs for in-room or in family-room viewing, lots of board games, beautiful landscaping, gazebo, very tranquil setting with gardens and outdoor amenities. Loved our room and our stay. Very quiet and very comfortable. I know we'll be back.
