I was gaslighted for refusing to donate!
So I called them to ask about knife sharpening service, they said 5 dollars per knife, you can get it same day, great!
I go in, give them a couple of knives, a 45-55 year old caucasian lady takes them to the back and 10 minutes later she comes back with the knives wrapped, she puts them in a bag and hands them to me. So far so good. she takes me to one of the registers to pay, and she says we’ll charge 10 dollars to children’s hunger charity, I got perplexed and asked what does that mean, she said something along the line of the money will be charged anyway, why not donate it to hungry kids (which was even more confusing), at that point I said can I just pay for my knife sharpening?!
She said yes then rolled her eyes and scoffed: who doesn’t want to donate 10 dollars to hungry children, it’s literally just 10 dollars.
I remained firm and said not today and not at this store. The knives were decent, but not as sharp as they were out of the box.
After that incident I’ll never set foot there again.

Exceptional Customer Service Experience!!!I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Williams Sonoma store in Arlington, VA, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made me feel right at home. What truly sets this store apart is its unparalleled customer service. Not only are the staff incredibly knowledgeable about their products, but they also go above and beyond to ensure that customers like myself make the best decisions possible. I was impressed by how they took the time to understand my needs and preferences, guiding me towards products that perfectly suited my requirements. What truly blew me away was the fact that even after a few months since my last purchase, the staff still remembered me. This level of personalization and attention to detail is rare to find in retail nowadays, and it speaks volumes about the dedication and commitment of the team at Williams Sonoma Arlington. Moreover, the empathy displayed by the staff is truly commendable. They genuinely care about their customers and their satisfaction, making the shopping experience not only enjoyable but also memorable.Overall, my experience at Williams Sonoma Arlington, VA, exceeded all expectations. The combination of exceptional customer service, knowledgeable staff, and genuine care for customers makes this store deserving of nothing less than a five-star rating. I highly recommend it to anyone in search of quality products and top-notch service.

This is really more for corporate than for your store. Last week I was in your store to look at a tablecloth that was not in stock. I decided to purchase it, despite the enormous shipping charge. The excellent salesperson took my order for which I paid cash. The order was placed correctly. Today UPS delivered a completely different item. There is no place on the Williams-Sonoma corporate website to register a complaint, so I am doing it here. It is outrageous to charge an enormous fee for handling and shipping and to then send the wrong item. I want the initial shipping and handling charge to be refunded. I would like the correct item to be sent without a shipping and handling charge. The high voice and rapid speech of the consumer rep left me unclear as to whether this will happen.UPDATE. The wrong item was delivered back to Williams-Sonoma on 2/28 at 8:56am. For several days now, the website for tracking has indicated that I would receive the correct item by today. It also indicated that it had not been shipped. Only one of these can be true. It turns out that it has NOT been shipped and that I won't receive it until March 11. Meanwhile, I have a text from W-S about my website feedback. I don't know what website feedback they want to discuss, but they want me to OK text messages. I'm not going to reply to this as it's unlikely to be germane.

Need to replace a very old toaster with something new, updated and with tons of features. Stopped at the local Williams-Sonoma. Their shelves are overflowing with the latest and greatest of kitchen gadgets and gizmos. If you’re looking for pots and pans, dishes or appliances you cannot go wrong with William-Sonoma. Price and quality go hand in hand, so don’t be fools by cheaper brands elsewhere. The only negative issue is parking, parking is hectic in the Clarendon area, so please pack your patience. There is a gorgeous play area located outside of the shops so while you’re inside shopping the kiddos could be outside having a blast at the playground. Enjoy!

Holy cow did these folks save the day! I cannot say enough nice things about them. I was looking at a cookie jar online that was backordered until September and out of stock everywhere as an anniversary gift for my wife. The W-S team at Clarendon went out of their way to look in the stockroom and found their last one. They then were happy to hold it at the counter, gave me great Metro directions, and wrapped it up for a long Metro/MARC/bike ride to Baltimore. Outstanding!Great service is hard to find these days, give these folks a raise!

Park in the garage. WIlliams Sonoma offers half price parking, but Whole Foods next door has an easy access machine past the cash registers at the exit that gives 2 hours free. You can just use the Whole Paycheck machine without shopping there. (Jeff Bezos, Amazon founder and world's richest divorcee, owns the Washington Post and much of Whole Foods).

If you need anything from this store avoid this location, had to wait to be helped as the sales person was on phone, and when i asked what i am looking for the lady didn't even look it up online she just said we don't have it for years now! Although it's available to order. Since there was only two employees and they were both on the phone and 4 customers waiting to be assistants. One decided to get off the phone and go to the back instead of helping others to check out.

Placed my order of tableware sets to be picked up from this location. They called to inform me that they don't have the spoons from the set and had to cancel my order. They then placed the knives and forks on hold so thatI can pick them up in the store and have my spoons shipped to me. Went to the store to pick the items only to have the attendant place the order of the missing spoons on their website and she clearly told me that it's free shipping because the store ran out of it. Guess what? I got charged $15 for shipping after all and when I checked the receipt and mentioned it to her she started giving me excuses that they can't waive it. I told her that I could have just made the order at home instead of coming all the way to the store and she started saying that it's good to support the store to keep it open and that it will help keep their jobs also. Needless to say, I'm never coming back to this location ever. Worst customer service I've ever received in a Williams Sonoma store, I'll go to the other locations next time.
